The Urban, hotel in Siem Reap

Jungle in the city centre - To explore the city on foot at your own leisurely pace, “The Urban” is the best choice.

After a long train ride and flight, arriving at the hotel felt like a warm embrace. The staff greeted us in the most welcoming way possible, with big smiles and genuine kindness, instantly making us feel at home. Throughout our stay, they took care of us so well, always approaching us with positivity and offering help with the best attitudes. We booked a tour to visit Angkor Wat and the temples through the hotel, and it was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Sarah, was incredible! Her passion for her job and the rich history of the country shone through every word she spoke. She truly made the experience special and memorable. The hotel itself was spotless, with an attention to cleanliness that did not go unnoticed. It smelled amazing, and the atmosphere was always calm and pleasant. We also really enjoyed the food – it was delicious and beautifully presented. A huge thank you to the entire staff for making our stay so wonderful. Your kindness and professionalism really made all the difference! And specially for Lily that received us so well and took care of us from the beginning!

The staff is extremely helpful with every need I had and so friendly and sweet. We had a tuk tuk driver for 3days going with us to the temples and at evening/night to restaurants and he was so lovely! The room was nothing short of fantastic—spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean. It offered all the amenities I could possibly need, making it a true home away from home. One of the highlights was definitely the pool area. It was amazing!

There are lot of places to visit. Every place must be visited leisurely with sufficient time in hand. One gets tired fast due to lot of walking involved in and around the monuments. Seam Reap can be visited for good 4-5 days easily.

Siem Reap is a beautiful city and the people are even more beautiful. Everyone is so friendly and smiles - gives you the time of day and if you’re in a rush they understand and don’t bother you. The Ankgor Wat temples are unbelievable, it truly is a honor to be able to visit them and believe it is definitely something for everyone to visit, whether you like history or not. The town itself has so much to do and offer. The local food is delicious and the city centre has something for everyone. I truly hope tourism picks up for Cambodia because it truly is such a wonderful country with wonderful people. Put Siem Reap on your travel bucket list because it exceeded our expectations dramatically.

We are older travellers and went to see the sights primarily. All the tours we took to view Angkor Wat and the other temples, the Floating Village, the War Museum, the National Museum, and the Killing Fields Museum were very good. The Night life was vibrant with the street markets and food stalls. The locals (we dealt with) were very friendly, honest, gentle and everyone worked. We avoided the non food stalls after a while as they all same the same sorts of stuff and we were continually pestered with "You want to buy..." . We learned just to say "No" and keep walking. The food stalls offered an exciting array of foods and drinks, all very cheaply. The fresh food markets out of the city proper are a sight , and smell, to behold and a must see. The fish section in particular is one not to miss. Need to get there early to see the best views. All in all a great place to visit, even with the hot humid climate.

Siem Reap would be good for a 3 to 4 nights stay, Then you can do the bigger circuit of Angkor. If you love history and historical places, Angkor is really wonderful. The town of Siem Reap itself is quite clean and well maintained. It is a bit touristy, but that's it's main source of income. Plenty of eateries, particularly the Pub Street area. But if you are there in summer or monsoon, be aware that most of the restaurants are not having Air con. So you have weather the humidity. Lot of local crafts to buy and they are very reasonably priced. Local specialty being the leather Art creations, which you find in many shops and you can see the artisans working on their craft. Finally, must say, the people of Cambodia are so courteous and so friendly. Ever smiling people and always happy to help.

Siem Reap may be taking long to recover economically but the people are amazing, friendly and humble. Food is priced very well and delicious. There is rich history and a culture and people work to survive. Angkor Wat temples is a must see, walking tours gives you a good overview of the City and will definitely enhance your stay. Its a City I would visit again and again... It's so safe. We walked around late at night. We stayed for 7 nights and had dinner 4 times at the same restaurant, called Khmer Hidden Home Restaurant close to our hotel Two Seasons Siem Reap. The food was so good, we just went back once we discovered it.

When you first enter the property you are welcomed with fruit and a welcome drink and most importantly a cold towel which is indescribably amazing when you’ve been in the Cambodian heat all day. Every time you re-enter the property you are given a new cold towel which just feels so luxury. Would recommend this hotel over and over again as the staff were super helpful especially Mr.Phat the manager. Lovely experience will definitely return!
