The location of Albergo Firenze was perfect for us - a quiet hotel on a central and lively
Piazza in Como, close to the lake and the ferry station. This hotel was recommended by friends who stayed the summer previously and it was perfect. Although the room was compact it overlooked a lovely laneway and the bathroom was spacious with a good shower. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival/departure. There is a breakfast buffet but we chose to have a coffee in the piazza.
Plenty of lovely restaurants close by and in the heart of the shopping area.
We arrived by train from Milan and it was an easy walk from the train station to the hotel.

Average hotel a million miles from anything. My negative review is because the food - was terrible. Awful awful awful. So bad, that we wouldn’t even eat breakfast or even order a coffee after one day we did and it arrived cold.
If you have points, and expect a basic stay, fine. But absolutely nothing about this hotel is special. Or worth the trip given it’s an hour drive from anywhere. Waste of money. I’ve never been a Hilton fan anyway, my first stay has solidified that it’s a basic hotel and never again. I’m absolutely sure that a boutique 3 star would be much much better.
The pool is pretty.
The 3-star Hotel Borgo Antico is just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Como and the lake’s harbour. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout and elegant rooms.

Set at the south-western tip of Y-shaped Lake Como, the town of Como offers wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. A funicular railway runs up to the village of Brunate from where you can see Switzerland on the opposite shore.
The peaceful location has long been a favourite with celebrities, but the town has been around since Roman times. In fact, 2 of its most famous sons – Pliny the Elder and Younger – are commemorated in statues on the façade of the 14th-century cathedral. The next door Broletto dates to the previous century, and even older are the remains of the medieval walls and Castello Baradello, sitting on a hill overlooking the town.
Much more modern in style is the Casa del Fascio, built during Mussolini’s rule. The streets between here and the waterfront are packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and Lake Como boat trips depart from the small marina.
The neighbouring park houses a temple-like museum about Alessandro Volta (another former resident), and around the shoreline is elegant Villa Olmo which looks across landscaped gardens to the water’s edge.
The Como accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury lakefront hotels, town centre B&Bs and cheap apartments near San Giovanni Train Station, which offers direct services to Milan.

Very pretty with plenty of place to eat. Interesting market. We found getting a bus around the lake and taking the ferry back worked best for us as the queue to buy ferry tickets can be quite long in Como.

Como is good for a centre to see the Southern part of the lake. The downside is it is very busy. Too many day trippers. The boats are crowded and long queues. They have also dug up most of the promenade at the moment which spoils the lakeside area. The bus is a good alternative to the ferry. Best to stay here a few days and then move on to Varenna, Lenno or Mennagio.

Stunning town in a beautiful part of Italy.
Stunning town in a beautiful part of Italy. Good transport links via Milan (land at Linate airport, then metro to Milano Centrale station, then train). The town itself is the main attraction, with great restaurants, and good shopping from groceries to fashion. Then you can visit the smaller towns of Lake Como by ferry or bus.

Try not to travel in peak season. Sooo many tourists!
Make sure you book ferry travel (for the lake) day before but be aware tickets are non refundable. Big cues at the ticket office...go early!!
Slow ferry outward bound is great with the fast ferry for return. Tickets are not inexpensive if travelling on a budget however well worth budgeting for! Como and the townships along the lake are beautiful!
Try to find places where the locals eat....in the back streets usually.
Como was our last stop after six weeks in Italy .... we were a little over visiting cathedrals etc however we really enjoyed site seeing and sitting in the local cafes people watching.
The hotel staff were warm and welcoming and helped me plan my trip to visit local spots of interest. The rooms are decorated by a theme of cities on Lake Como! Very cute, comfy bed and nice bathroom and decor. The breakfast buffet was really delicious and accommodating to gluten free options. At checkout, they had a goodie bag with water and chocolates, a nice touch at the end of my stay. It is in the heart of the historic district and easy walking to many great restaurants and shops! I’m definitely coming back! Thank you so much!!💕💕
Location, set back but very near the Lake in a great little Square of shops and Hotels.
It is also very convenient for the train station with buses.
The Breakfast choice was excellent and the staff were respectful.
The sheets on the Bed were very very clean and good quality.
I used this Hotel upon arrival in Como before going up the Lake for a 10 day stay and again on my return. It was a great stopover that made my journey pleasant and convenient.
Thank you to all the Staff
I liked everything about the property; the location is 5 minutes walking from the Como train station, close to Como Parks, few minutes away from the lake, everything is close the hotel. Ms. Carolina was kind to enable our check in before arrival. The room is clean, all machines are available ( iron, washing machine, coffee machine, boiler, fridge...) The receptionist was so friendly and helpful. I love everything about La Perla hotel
If you want to stay in a decent hotel with an affordable price around Lake Como, this is your place! If you are travelling with a car, I certainly recommend this hotel, since it offers free parking, which is not a common thing in Italy. The employees are super friendly and sincere. They prepared the room quite fast, given the fact that i wrote to them we would like to check-in a bit earlier then usual.
Hotel was absolutely amazing!Very good location, located on the mountain with great views, not far from Como lake.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Beautifuly decorated farm style hotel with big selection breakfast choice which was super delicious.
Comfortable room with big and comfy bed.
Will definetely be back if in the area again and recommended for anyone to stay there!
Everything is very clean especially the towels are better than some five stars hotels. Bathroom is the best and spacious.
I feel safe like home because in the fence and very private location.
Rossana is very kind and responsible.
location is very closed to Como Lago train station and some attractions in town and lake . Very convenient. Also have parking in center of city .
Everything about the hotel was grand! Its location puts you perfectly in front of Lake Como, from where you can wonder the riverbank or go to town and explore. one of the most unique features is having Duomo do Como right outside our window. The accommodations are fantastic, and the staff is helpful. A perfect find for anyone who stays here!
Super hotel with a great view of the lake. Breakfast choices were extensive and pleasantly situated. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Well located to ride the funicular, explore the sites and choose from an array of bars and restaurants. Easy access from the train station as we toured around Northern Italy and Switzerland.
Good location to either train station or lake side. Nice and helpful staffs. Our original room in La Corte Fiorita had a locker issue, Hotel voluntarily transferred us to Hetel Borgovico (under the same owner). Luciano and other staff members worked hard to help us, they made us a great stay experience in Como.
Eveyrthing here is always so good. This is not our first time at Hotel Villa Flori.
Polite and friendly staff, close to Como center/by walk, view of lake Como from the hotel is spectacular. bar of the hotel has good wine choices. I love their room service :) quick, always a sincere smile and helpful.
The apartment was beautiful & perfectly located in Como Old Town; a 10 minute walk from the lake, and very central to all restaurants and sites around. It was also very secure & I felt extremely safe throughout the trip. It had all the necessary facilities for a 5 day stay in Italy.
Great location in the centre of Como city with lake views from our balcony. The room was roomy and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was comprehensive, but the same each day.
A bar and restaurant within the hotel provided some easy options close to home at night.
This apartment is absolutely marvelous. Its very cozy and super clean. It’s a little paradise in Italy with amazing big terrace and a beautiful view to Como lake and the mountains. The hosts are charming and make our stay unforgettable. Love this place!
Great staff, we spent a fantastic family holiday in Como and celebrated in the hotel the New Year party.
The dinner at New Year's Eve was great and we felt very happy. The DJ did a fantastic job and entertained us to the max.
A really nice hotel located in the heart of Como old town 15 mins walking distance from the lake. The room/studio big enough for two people, TV, kichten annex, additional blankets. Definitely would stay there again.
Hotel was fantastically located on a beautiful plaza with restaurants while being convenient to both of the main train stations in Como as well as the ferry to other towns along the lake.
This hotel is located in the main centre square of Como with many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. The staff were all helpful and the hotel is very clean.
