Hotel Le Due Fontane, hotel in Florence

Just 200 metres from Accademia Gallery, Le Due Fontane is a 3-star hotel offering air-conditioned from 1st of july to1st of oct., rooms with free WiFi.

Super location, on a small square slightly away from the centre but close enough to be easy walking distance from the principal tourist destinations in the city. The hotel itself was very clea, and comfortable. The room we shared wasn’t huge, but we knew that when booking. But it was adequate, and quiet. The square outside the hotel is close to one of the universities but this did not detract in any way from the atmosphere or feeling of being away from the main crowds. There are a number of good restaurants close by, at a good range of prices and a couple of small supermarkets. The breakfasts were fine. It is very much a continental breakfast with cold cheeses and meats, etc, and pastries. But there was plenty and they will happily make fresh coffee (to the usual superb Italian standard) as an alternative to the machine offering. Finally, the staff were excellent - from the reception to those in the breakfast room and the cleaning staff. In short, a great place to use as a base for a stay in Firenze.

Adler Cavalieri Hotel-Private Spa & Gym, hotel in Florence

Just 200 metres from Santa Maria Novella Station, Adler Cavalieri is right in Florence’s centre.

First, this was a beautiful, quaint hotel. The air-conditioning was perfect, not absent or glacier. The location was close to the train station, the breakfast was yummy, the bed was great. The pillows were unexpectedly good, the staff were excellent and everything was clean. Good wifi, We loved that it wasn't a sterile hospital room of a hotel and had the charm we wanted with Italy. Would recommend and wished we stayed longer.

An Italian Masterpiece

Best-known for the stunning Duomo, Florence is full of amazing buildings and its historic centre. The Ponte Vecchio, a 14th-century bridge holding a multitude of shops on its edges is a stunning example and provides a truly unforgettable view.

Dig into more of the city’s historical past at the Basilica of Santa Croce, a Franciscan church full of great artwork and the burial place of Italian greats: Michelangelo and Galileo. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s finest art museums and the Pitti Palace is not far behind.

For great dining, the Santa Croce district has countless options and the unique lampredotto is Florentine fast-food with a 1000-year old history. Many consider the local gelato, Italian ice-cream, to be the best in the world.

The beauty and flavours of Florence are just a 15-minute train ride from the Amerigo Vespucci International Airport. Whether you’re looking for a room with a view at a cosy B&B, a luxury hotel or an intimate guesthouse, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Florence adventure.

Beautiful city and people. Such a walkable city.

Beautiful city and people. Such a walkable city. The architecture, ironwork, door handles and fixtures, gardens, food, and sounds are so incredible. We stumbled upon opera singers giving a free performance in Santa Croce, toured the leather school, bought beautiful perfume from AquaFlor, and ate a lot! Recommend Gastone and Florentine steak at Fiaschetteria Cambi, and Mister Pizza : ) La Giostra is good and very charming but once we said no dessert, they were done with us, haha

A city worth visiting again and again.

A city worth visiting again and again. My second Time in Florence and still had a lot of things to see. Of course one must visit the obvious such as Ponte Vecchio or Uffizi Gallery but what is the most important thing while visiting Florence is to enjoy the city as a whole; history and beauty are everywhere so just keep your eyes open and wonder around. Don’t get a taxi but walk.

This was my second visit over the years, so I didn’t do too...

This was my second visit over the years, so I didn’t do too many museums and tourists’ attractions, which gave me plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the streets and magnificent buildings, and try to avoid the crowds. Three or fours days are enough to see most of the sights without running too much. I had eight days so I did one trip to Siena (1.5 hours by train) one to Pisa (50 mins by train), one to the beach at Viareggio (1h 45 mins by train) and one afternoon Chianti wine trip and degustation. The Tuscan countryside is magnificent! You definitely need to plan the visits of museums etc in advance as you simply can’t walk into the most famous ones (Duomo, Pantheon, Accademia, Uffizi etc) expecting to have access that day. One exception was Palazzo Pitti - I just bought a ticket there and walked in. Well worth the visit (buy joint ticket Palazzo and huge gardens!) stunning but not as popular as the most famous ones. You can pay fir a skip-the queue ticket fir major museums, it helps but you still have to queue. I’d recommend buying the Firenzecard valid for 3 days for €85 giving you access to all museums. Florence is a very busy city full of tourists but well worth visiting. Most sights are in walking distance. Take a little boat trip on the Arno, nothing major but a pleasant hour before the aperitivo! A little pricey (€25) for what it really is, was cheaper in Rome, but enjoyable all the same. Make sure to walk up the hill (20/25 mins) to Piazza Michelangelo for stunning views of the city. Well worth the effort. If you want ‘real’ Italian / Florentine food, avoid tourists restaurants around famous sights that serve food all day. There are many local restaurants in small side streets. Remember Italian eat later than the USA/UK fir instance, after 7pm, but during the day plenty of places to snack. Night life is also vibrant, venture into remote streets and little piazzas… Florence is my favourite city.

Florence is great, but way too crowded There are lines everywhere , people everywhere The sewer system of the city is in bad shape and it stinks We enjoyed the Cantinetta Antinori restaurant and the food court at MercatoCentrale For a future visit, I would choose low season, when there are hopefully fewer tourists

We arrived early as we were travelling around Italy from Florence. Our room wasn’t ready as there was a problem with the air conditioning. The receptionist put our bags into the luggage store so we could go and venture out. Such great customer service. Our room was also the nicest room (except the honeymoon suite on my wedding) I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I do think we were upgraded and if so I cannot thank the hotel enough.

The staff, the breakfast, the location, the room...everything was perfect! Best cappuccino that we had during our week in Italy and the best breakfast too! 10/10 all around! Easy 10 minute walk to cross the Arno; a bus stop just across the street; grab a pizza across the street; grab a casual lunch or dinner down the street at Pitti Express for a reasonably priced meal. I hope to find myself in Florence and in Casa Botticelli again.

Out of the 3 lodgings in Italy I have stayed so far, I like this the best. It's small but it has everything and feels the most like a regular hotel. Very clean and modern. The room we booked has a bunk bed for kids so it served our purpose well to fit the family. It's also in a slightly more quiet environment so not as much road noise. We can put our luggage outside the room in the common area after checkout which was quite helpful.

There were lots of beautiful statues inside with some beautiful art everywhere you went that symbolized Florence and Italy itself. It was a very charming place peaceful tranquil, and inviting
