Only nice thing was location, just front of Termini Station.. Staff was OK but manager was the biggest retrograde behavior and decision maker I ever saw in any Hotel; without getting in details basically I had problem and was forbidden to bring my sport equipment cases inside the room arguing some Italian Tourist Law that he was never able to show me.Had to call a friend to pick them up.Our room was in a corner, last 50 ft walking thru the labyrinth(yes you need a map) to get our room at the corner, a lot of electrical wiring hanging from the roof, plus the AC was at max 10 degree Celsius (50 F ) but we were barely getting 23 C ( 74 C ) around 3-5 AM, we had to sleep almost naked and keep sheets on the side to be able to sleep.Told front desk and nothing to do as hotel full. Last day when checking out they had the nuts to ask again if everything was OK and I just told the same as they never fix the problem.

I like the tours in Rome like the Colosseum tour and the Vatican tour. They are costly but save you time and hassle. Restaurant 34 is a great restaurant. It is easy for me to walk around Rome. I would not recommend the subways in Rome. Pick pocket teams are every where in the subways. It happened right in front of my face. DO NOT use subways in Rome. Take taxi! It costs more but safer. You do not want to loose your passport or wallet while traveling.

I think there are many information on the internet but looking back at my recent journey, my only advice would be to think through what really interests you, because there is more sense in focusing on that than to enter every sightseeing and museum - you can get overwhelmed after awhile, especially if you are not always as lucky as to have a tour guide with you. Entrance tickets shall be bought ahead (look out for reviews if you get any ticket through a third party) - it saves you a lot of time, although they usually have an exact entrance time in this case. Make sure that you definitely have enough time to get from one place to another and be prepared for unforeseen events such as the metro being renovated or trains being on strike... :) Do the research for the local good and affordable restaurants either if you can.

Good thing in Rome is that there is plenty to see and enjoy.
Good thing in Rome is that there is plenty to see and enjoy. The bad thing is that there are no plates (signs) with directions and distance to the closest monuments thus you can be close to them and still miss them.
Some tips: If you want to visit something particular like Colloseum, Pantheon, etc., book tickets well in advance. I booked tickets a month ago and did not have much of a choice. A lot of tickets were bought from private companies which sell them with small additional service like "skip the line" or "Download an audio guide" (like in Colloseum) or guide for triple times higher prices.
The street salesmen of small gadgets like plastic jewelry, water or scarves can be nasty insisting, as not to say rude.
Restaurants: food comes out quite fast, the waiters are very polite and nice.
On Sunday evening the metro was closed for renovation work after 9 p.m. When I went to the station and saw its closed entrance, a metro officer instead of explaining in a nice and quiet manner what to do, was yelling at us. The municipality provided buses that followed the metro route and kept the same stops so there was a working solution. Of course it took longer to get to your stop but this is quite normal.

Hi,
For me, this is the second time I visit Rome and I still have the impression that I will come to this city full of history many more times to be able to visit everything that would help me understand the Romanian culture combined with the daily life of Italy .

Beautiful city with many monuments, on the other hand it is really dirty city, lot of rubbish around. I can leave with it, but I preferred more cleaned spaces. Restaurants near monuments are expensive and once you sit to table the price of food is raising.

lots of interesting statues, fountains, quiet cobbled streets. I recommend going for restaurants in side streets as opposed to main squares and those with mainly indoor seating tend to be good value for money. Square pizzas are the norm as opposed to neopolitan but delicious. Lots of guys selling cheap tat and trying to get your attention near the Roman sites. Just ignore them completely like the locals do - dont even bat an eyelid or respond to the "Hello - how are you today?" and they quickly leave you alone. Dissappointed with the colosseum which was packed with tourists swarming like ants and loads of building work going on which kind of spoilt some of the charm. Pantheon area and Trastavere were excellent though and more than made up for the tackyness near the Colosseum. Buses were packed - didnt bother with those. Train from the airport to the centre was good but watch out at peak times and get on board early to get a seat! (we made the mistake of not doing that on the way back and had a 30 min cramped stand back to the airport - good air con though). Would I recommend going ? Yes. Would I go back - no. (meh - I am middle aged and seen too much - prefer Venice anyway ;) )
This is my second time in Italy and I always liked to stay close to the central station so the location for this hotel is perfect.
The rooms are great, the host left water and other goodies which was such a nice touch! They also have all the facilities you need in the room and they are perfectly clean.
But the main point here is the staff. The host was super friendly and went above and beyond to help. I followed all his recommendations and had a perfect experience in Rome.
I would definitely recommend this place!
Everything about this hotel, including the staff, is exceptional.
We were upgraded for both our stays - rooms were beautiful and beds extremely comfortable. The mini bar is free - such a lovely touch. Breakfast is superb - one of the best we have ever had and definitely the best we encountered on our trip through Italy.
The rooftop bar is lovely, with wonderful views over Rome.
All the staff are extremely welcoming and go above and beyond to help, ensuring you have the best experience possible.
If you travel by train, it is convenient, a bit far from classic tourist monuments, if you have good energy to walk, is not a problem. We walked to go and uber to come back. The area looks scary, a bit too dirty, but you have a lot of tourists going by. We stayed in the hotel when we got to italy and when we left, one night each time. I don't think I would stay in this hotel to really visit rome for several days. For a night is more than ok, next to the train station, the staff is very nice!
The staff were very supportive and soon knew our tastes, so had white wine poured for my aunt when we went to dine. The food was amazing. I loved the saffron carbonara. The breakfast offerings were great too. The reception staff went out of their way to be supportive and booked our tours for Rome and Florence. Daniel and Giuseppe were my go to guys and they were outstanding. It was the most comfortable hotel during our stay in Italy. The staff really wanted you to enjoy your stay,
Vintage, comfy and quaint hotel. Super fast internet, very good breakfast, rich variety of food.
Very nice staff, helpful polite and smiley. We asked for two single beds instead of one double, they put us in a double bed by mistake. The issue was resolved within 5 minutes.
Our accommodation was great, the location is ideal for transportation anywhere in Rome or anywhere else in Italy, for metro and Italian railways.
We would definitely stay there again.
This was simply a fantastic hotel choice! The location is perfect, walking distance to lots of main attractions, the room was very clean and confortable and on top of that all were the hosts. This is a family run hotel, and they are all very kind, always eager to help and to explain what to visit, where to go in Rome or Italy! Super kind! We felt at home ! Coming back to Rome and of course, coming back to this lovely hotel!!
Excellent location in the historic center. You can walk to every major monument and plazas (5-15 minutes). Get the breakfast, excellent value for the buffet. If you haven’t been in Italy before, and Europe for that matter, keep in mind that this is the “Old World”: Hotels in the historic centers are old, so don’t expect large rooms with large bathrooms. You get just enough space to get clean and rest. Go out and enjoy Rome!
The host was very hospitable and friendly and he directed us to the best and nicest places in Rome! The room was in excellent condition and the hotel is in a perfect location. A bonus is that if you’re walking in to the city centre, you will walk past the most amazing Gelateria, Guttilla (definitely worth a try!) We will definitely be coming back and staying at Guest’s heaven if we are going back to Rome!
The hotel is very close to the center of Rome. It was clean and cozy. The most I liked is friendliness and assistance of Luigi, the guy who works in reception. It was my first trip to Rome (Italy), but I didn’t find any difficulties as Luigi helped me with map and highlighted sightseeing to be visited step by step. If I come next time definitely I will stay at this hotel!
It is the best hotel we had reserved in Italy. It’s high value for money. It was not only good location but also reasonable in price. It had great facilities and clean rooms. The staffs were very kind and enthusiastic. But we didn’t have breakfast because we forgot that our hotel bill included breakfast. I hope I can taste breakfast next time I go to Rome.
This hotel is absolutely wonderful. It is close to Termini Station and an easy walk to many attractions. The staff here is great. They are the friendliest we have met here in Italy. The breakfast buffet cannot be beat. I plan on coming to Rome next year and will stay here again! This hotel is a true gem!
We stayed here for 1 night in Rome before flying back home. The hotel was in a really useful location, just 5-10 mins walk from Rome Termini for the train to the airport. We did the same last time we visited Italy.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. You can leave luggage here once you have checked out.
Very clean rooms, comfortable and nice looking I think the best hotel we have experienced so far in Italy. Just next to the metro station and away from the crowd - best location to explore Rome The host is very friendly. I was did not want to leave as I felt so relaxed and wanted to stay longer.
Fantastic location, super friendly staff and the place has a very Italy/Boutique vibe to it. It's small, but so are most hotels in Rome. We've stayed in a few different places in Rome, and this was our favorite. It's also close to Termini without being TOO close, which gets a little grimy.
Large and adorable apartment in the heart of Rome with a balcony! We had breakfast on the balcony daily and were walking distance to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Stairs, and Colosseum. This was our favorite hotel out of 5 on our tour of France and Italy!
Best Hotel during our trip true Italy.
Very kind and helpful receptionist. Clean and comfortable room. Amazing rooftop terrace!
Top breakfast!! We will be back soon to Rome and only in that Hotel. Grazie
Quiet, super comfortable, friendly staff, phenomenal pool space, great pizza (okay, maybe not so surprising for Italy) but at a great price at a hotel, will definitely stay again in transit to/from Rome
Breakfast, staff, bed and pillows were excellent. Many hotels in Italy, specifically the beds and pillows, are lacking so they did a great job with this detail.
