The City of Popes
Located in Southern France, Avignon is the largest capital of the department of Vaucluse. Classified as a UNESCO world Heritage Site, the charming city centre is home to the palace of the popes, Rocher des Doms, and the bridge of Avignon.
The historic Palais des Papes is one of the most significant medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. Set within a square with the same name, the Papal Palace is an important tourist attraction where you can see the pope’s private chambers and frescoes by Matteo Giovannetti.
Le Pont d’Avignon was built in the Middle Ages and, according to the legend, a young shepherd called Benezet was inspired by angels to build the bridge. The children’s song "Sur Le Pont D'Avignon" is now famous all over the world.

A wonderful place to hang around.
After sunset it might feel a bit uncomfortable, however I did not feel particularly unsafe at any point.

Great history and narrow lovely streets to walk through.
Great history and narrow lovely streets to walk through. Visit to Popes old digs and the old bridge were great. Natural museum was free, however it took only 15 minutes to see the collection. Restaurant’s and food there were great as well. Could do without all of the beggars on the street, some who were obviously drunk and quite aggressive constantly asking us for money. Carry some coins just in case you get cornered and feel threatened as it’s the easiest way out of it without risk.

Avignon once was a beautiful old town, rich in history and lovely to walk around is. These days, however, the city is horribly dilapidated; at least two out of every ten shops is closed forever and their storefronts are covered in graffiti.
Another deception is the fact that it is very hard to find affordable restaurants serving French food, since the centre of town is filled with tourist traps serving pizza's, couscous and similar imported dishes.

Beautiful, historic, walkable city, with numerous plazas, charming narrow streets and great restaurants. Popes palace and surrounding area was spectacular, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Great base location for day trips to other nearby interesting towns like Arles and Orange and others.
Our family of 5 had two rooms (one double and one triple). Both rooms were very comfortable. The triple room was very large and our family was easily able to congregate in that room. The location is excellent. All the Avignon sights, restaurants, markers, and shops were just steps from the hotel. Although right on Place de l'Horloge, the rooms were very quiet when we closed the windows...the soundproofing was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, too. We highly recommend this hotel.
Aicha was a fantastic host. On arrival she took the time to make recommendations for Avignon and help us book restaurants - both of which were great! The hotel is well stocked with coffee, water and juice which is free for your whole stay. The garden area is beautiful and we used it to have lunch and relax on busy days in Avignon. The rooms were very comfortable and the beds were exceptional. After spending a few weeks travelling france, this was the best sleep we had! Breakfast also fantastic.
The Hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Avignone, close to the most of historical sites and restaurants.
Breakfast is good, and the space devoted to breakfast is nice and clean.
Our double room was sufficiently large, with two large windows.
Very well the heating in the room and in the bathroom.
Finally the hotel is very close (100mt by foot) to the parking mentioned in the hotel description.
Breakfast was good, but not great. It was crowded when we went down and several of the items had not been replaced. Fresh squeezed orange juice was a definite plus. Nice helpful staff who showed me how to operate the juicer.
The location of the hotel is great. Directly across from the entryway into the old walled city of Avignon. Easy to walk; no need for a car.
The property is beautiful and tastefully restored. The bedroom was perfect in every way. superb nights sleep in the comfiest bed in a hotel ever. V quiet too.
we were on the second floor. We had breakfast and evening meal and Brian’s cooking was outstanding especially as he catered fully vegan for us which hard to come by in France. Setting and grounds are lovely.
To start off it is absolutely beautiful in the courtyard, lovely furnishings inside and amazing location. But some of the best part are the kind hosts. Richard came to let us in on the day and put things down on the map for us to go and see. Whenever I had a question he would go out of his way to help us. 5 stars for everything - thank you!!
We felt at home. The staff was very nice to us and the kids, who did not want to leave at all. The restaurant at the hotel is very convenient and the food is good. Big pool in a garden. There was no noise from the airport.
If ever we will travel to Avignon again, we will come back.
Thank you for the nice experience!
Our stay at No15 was perfect! The hosts were SO nice and made us feel comfortable right away. They gave us a map and recommended great restaurants around Avignon. The breakfast every morning was delicious - fresh fruit, croissants, juice and coffee. The hotel was beautiful, clean and relaxing. I’d highly recommend it!
Very nice hotel ideal for our one night stay in the beautiful town of Avignon . Receptionist was great , friendly , helpful and a wonderful sense of humour . Hotel had everything we needed and easy to get to as on edge of old town . And they had a secure car park close by which was a bonus . Would stay here again .
The hotel was amazing, such a beautiful property in a tranquil garden setting with pool, which the owners should be very proud of. They are exceptional hosts, probably the best we have ever encountered, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely return.
Good location, very easy to find when walking from the station. Extremely pleasant and welcoming staff - the best I've encountered in France. Clean, spacious, modern room with plenty of hooks, shelves, bathroom had a lovely, deep bath. Good breakfast and kettle/m/w available in common area.
The Hotel is situated just outside the old town and close to many tourist attractions. This is the big plus. Our suite was also huge and the beds were the best on our trip. We also had a roof-terrace which was nice.
Excellent place, well equipped for a break in Avignon. Had everything we needed, and the best part is it felt like coming home, rather than some soulless hotel. Will definitely visit again if in the area.
Lovely hotel in the middle of Avignon. The location was perfect! The room was a bit small but that’s to be expected for Europe. The owners were super friendly and helpful.
