Its largest square – Vrijthof – houses the twin churches of St Jan and St Servaas, a theatre and several pavement cafes. Various festivals and the Magic Maastricht Christmas markets are also held here. The city is a gem.
The city is a gem. I am probably biased, as I was raised there, but I have not lived in Maastricht for more than 50 years and come back 2 to 3 times yearly. It is one of the most amazing small cities in Europe.

A beautiful, clean, safe-feeling city with a truly international feel. A huge range of shops, bars and restaurants. A river running through it. An extremely walkable and, unsurprisingly for the Netherlands, cycle-friendly city. We ventured through the city square area to a lower key area on the edge of the centre, that seemed to have fewer tourists and more students, and ate at a good Korean fusion restaurant. We enjoyed some Maastricht-made beer.

What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands!
What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands! My husband and I explored the city on foot for three days and discovered lovely shops, wonderful coffeeshops (check out Fixed Gear if you are a cyclist), and interesting restaurants. Every meal we had in the town was delicious, and the locals were unfailingly accommodating.

It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere.
It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere. Beautiful historical areas. There are many parks and green areas to walk through. A lot of hidden gems on the outskirts of the city - definitely worth hopping on the bus from one end to the other and discovering what lies outside of the city center. Must try the breakfast menu from Coffeelovers Plein 1992.
The location is brilliant- a short walk from the railway station and a short walk to the old city centre - located in a very nice neighbourhood. The hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities. The room (a superior room) was very spacious but the layout with the open bathroom between the sleeping area and the sitting area is very odd. The room doesn't function nearly as well as it could. We knew about the open bathroom which did not bother us but were surprised at how much it adversely affected functionality.
The complex is a hidden gem. It's located in the suburbs of Maastricht surrounded by lush green fields. It was quiet and cool at night which provided for a very comfortable sleep.
The apartment was very clean and well-furnished. Memory foam mattresses were much appreciated after long days walking through Maastricht. The onsite bakery was wonderful offering fresh delicious pastry every morning.
The resort also has quick access to the City Centre (about 5 minutes by car).
Alex is a Unique small hotel with terrific, friendly, helpful staff —- especially the lovely Clarice. Delicious hot breakfast including yogurt with fresh fruit, egg, toast, croissant , OJ and coffee. It is in a perfect location to walk the cobblestone streets over the bridge to the Maastricht city center. No elevator, but the strong male staffers took care of carrying our suitcases up and down.
The city is located very close to the old centre of Maastricht, so there are lots of bars and eateries within a short walk. It's a really pleasant, charming hotel with lots of nice touches. The room was really comfortable and was refreshed each day. The staff were friendly and pleasant. If travelling to Maastricht I'd love to go back. A perfect spot for sightseeing in Maastricht.
The breakfast was good with plenty of choice, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the car park was behind the hotel. The hotel is quite a distance from the town centre but the local bus service was just outside the main entrance. There is not much to do were the hotel is situated bur we didn't find this an issue.
Very central. All city centre activities are within walking distance. Ground floor level is a plus, there is no need to lumber suitcases upstairs. Lots of spaces to relax. Superbly appointed kitchen. Spacious bathroom with easy walk in shower. Comfy mattresses. Genuinely sized outdoor terrace. Lovely artwork throughout.
A lovely Hotel in the absolute center of Maastricht, that is also a restaurant. I had a very comfy stay with a modern room and an incredible view of the Market plaza from the balcony. Staff were all very nice and helpful, making this stay of mine 10/10. I would absolitely recommend anyone to stay at la Bourse.
We visited Maastricht for the Andre Rieu Concert. We stayed at Hotel Beaumont for 2 nights. On arrival, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were amazing and the location was perfect.
We really enjoyed the whole experience and will most definately stay here again
The location was superb. So much green surrounding the hotel. A lot of quiet. A lot of spaces to do a picnic. The castle is beautiful, very well decorated. Good breakfast. Close enough to the city centre. Bikes are at your disposal. An awesome place to stay if you have kids.
We stay in Maastricht quite often. Finally found a decent alternative to the hotel where we used to stay often before. Beautiful view of the lake with ducks from the room, quite acceptable breakfasts. Parking is included in the price, which is a rarity for Maastricht.
Absolutely lovely boutique hotel, with spacious, newly furbished rooms right in the city centre. All the city attractions are within short walking distance.
The buffet breakfast was very good, and the hospitality of the staff outstanding.
Wholeheartedly recommended!
The hotel is conveniently located to city centre.
The rooms interior is beautiful and the room itself is spacious with a big comfortable bed, my husband and I loved the bath tub.
The breakfast is also wonderful!!
