We were shown to our room. We had a castle view. The bedroom was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Lovely little touches such as the LED candles that we used as a night light. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, both beautifully cooked and delicious.

Warkworth was a good centre for exploring.

Warkworth was a good centre for exploring. We rented a cottage for 3 nights. Parking on the street, right at the door. There were several pubs and restaurants. Bertrams which we visited was excellent. The Masons Arms was recommended to us by several locals. The river walk was lovely, we were lucky enough to see little egrets, goosanders, herons and a kingfisher. Nearby Amble was a good for takeaways and the pier walk.

We liked being in the centre of the village and near to the river walks. Visited the castle which is part of English Heritage and interesting to visit. We ate in a number of small restaurants in the village and nearby fishing village of Amble. The small stalls and the market there are worth a visit.

Location excellent for visiting other places on the coast though Warkworth itself is brilliant for famies the only downside is there are no crossings for the road. The Mason's Arms was a great place to eat, Riverside and shops very interesting and Amble quayside market on Sunday. Holy Island great place to visit but Warkworth Castle and Abbey on Holy Island too expensive for a family visit.

It is a small but interesting town dominated by its castle which is a must to visit for at least 1/2 day. Pretty and well kept, the village obviously receives many visitors and there is a predominance of holiday lets and second homes which waters down the 'local' atmosphere. It is enjoyable to meander through its honey coloured stone buildings and streets, well worth a visit.

The Hermitage is in the very centre of Warkworth and well located as a stopover on the coast path. I was given a friendly welcome and opted to eat there in the evening. My single room was light and reasonably spacious overlooking the street. Sharing the bathroom was no problem, I was not conscious of other guests at all. I slept well with no noise from the street or pub below. Breakfast was good too.

Quiet location within easy reach of Warkworth and lovely riverside walks. We enjoyed the excellent beaches nearby and found the locals to be friendly and helpful. Warkworth village and the Castle are steeped in history and educational. The apartment is very well equipped and well thought out. Car parking is excellent and Jen the host was on hand and informative.

We had visited the bar at this hotel on a previous visit to the area and enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so this time booked to stay also. A good location in Warkworth, with nice rooms. Dinner on the evening and breakfast the following morning were also good,
