FAQs about hotels in Madrid

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

Extremely interesting, I was there 6 days and never stopped going to places around the city but could have stayed longer as there is so much to do. I took the "Pocket Rough Guide to Madrid" and accessed the Madrid Official Tourism website on my phone (https://www.esmadrid.com/en), both of which gave excellent information. There are many Tourist Information points where i got free maps and a Metro map. I download Microsoft Translator app which was incredibly useful to communicate with people. As well as the museums and galleries etc there are many gorgeous open spaces and parks, The Botanical Gardens are amongst the best in the world, and El Retiro Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site for good reason. I attended Flamenco, and an outstanding concert with the National Orchestra and National Choir performing "Missa Solemnis" (Beethoven). The Madrid Official Tourism website has a lot of things available to entertain children too. Madrid is very clean, it is a very beautiful city with stunning architecture and a fascinating history. Very important is that I am a retired single lady yet felt very safe even walking around the streets and on the Metro by myself, often very late at night. The Metro is brilliant plenty of officials at most stations should you need assistance. I highly recommend a trip, whether travelling as adults or a family with children.

Madrid is the capitol of Spain, so it has many state buildings and statues. We expected to love the Museo del Prado, but found it surprisingly lacking in soul. It was very crowded and hard to navigate. Instead, we really enjoyed the Museo del Reina Sophia, the Spanish Museum of Modernism. It is more of a public educational museum covering the 20th century, especially the Spanish Civil War. Picasso's masterpiece Guernica is housed in this museum, along with experimental films, war posters, etc. I spend extended my visit by several extra hours to enjoy all the floors of this surprising collection and highly recommend it.

This hotel is wonderful. We loved it so much that we decided to spend our last night in Spain there after traveling through Seville, the Algarve, and Portugal. The staff were all very professional and helpful. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. The shower is amazing with easy to control temperature and excellent water pressure. Loved overlooking the square, and breakfast was delicious. The location is excellent for walking and was safe. Housekeeping was 5 stars - very clean, well stocked room. Highly recommend.

Without a doubt, one of the best places I have every stayed at. The location is AMAZING, the view from my room was unbelievable (Spain's National Library), the room had everything I needed (perfect wifi, air conditioner, good space, safety security box, kitchen, all amenities - they even gave me a coffee machine when I asked for one). the front desk/reception was available 24/7 and helped me with everything I needed. Truly, exceeded my expectations and will definitely stay again when I go back to Madrid!

We moved to Viky‘s from our downtown Madrid hotel because we had to be at the Madrid airport at 4 am. Viky‘s offered a free airport shuttle every half hour during the entire night. It worked out perfect. We were at Terminal 1 in less than 10 minutes. Barajas is a neat town with lots of nice restaurants around the plaza which made our last night in Spain very enjoyable.
