Great location near Atocha station and a stone's throw from the Reina Sofia Gallery and a short walk from the Prado Gallery, and not far from the old city centre. After a mix-up about rooms at check-in, they gave us a free upgrade to a fantastic spacious room. Breakfasts were excellent.

It was the first time we visited Madrid and it lived up to our expectations. It has plenty of history and culture on show together with plenty of restaurants (fast food, cafes and specialty outlets) offering different food as reasonable prices. We felt safe in the city even at night time. There are also plenty of outlets to go shopping.
Majority of the time we went to see historical places on foot but you can also see these with the easy to use public transport which is cheap.
There are also nearby parks for people to just relax and walk, especially the Retrio Park and Parque Rio Madrid.

Museums as Prado, Reina Sophia, and Thyssen-Bornemisza are a "must", but there are many more as Lope de Vega etc. - unfortunately the latter only in Spanish ;-(
Also many nice Cafes, plazas, bakeries, and bars - however a 'real tapas bar' was difficult to find ;-/

Lots of historic buildings and places for tourists.
Lots of historic buildings and places for tourists. People are relatively friendly,, especially if try to speak in Spanish. Many people in the downtown area speak English. Central Madrid is not car friendly. Parking is difficult, if not impossible. Traffic is slow motion. You can walk faster than drive. If you need to go far, get a taxi. Taxis are less expensive than most big cities. I used Uber and did fine.

The City is quit vast and with lots of places to visit depending on your interest. A must is the visit to Toledo.
Pros: Museums, lots of ways to hang around the city, lots of markets to visit, great food.
Cond: Overcrowded, a bit dirty.
everything was excellent. the location is great, in the Heart of the Madrid’s centre, next to gran via with many shops and restaurant. you can walk to all the main attractions of the city and also there is metro and bus stations. The room was big, spotlessly clean, with all the amenities, big tv and bed. the general decoration and atmosphere of the hotel were ideal. Also, the very friendly and helpful staff adds many points to the great experience. The best reception we have experienced. Worths the money, we totally recommend it.
The property is in an older building across the park from the Royal Palace. We thought this was the best property we stayed in on our two weeks in Spain. Room was huge, as was the bathroom, sitting area and coffee/tea service was a nice touch. This is a "hostal" ( a small family owned hotel) and well worth staying at. Elevator to upper floors, front desk is up a floor from entrance. Several restaurants, tapas bars, pastry and ice cream shops within walking distance. Would stay here again the next time.
The room was large. Beds were very large and comfortable. The kitchenette was great for light food prep. Very clean hotel. The adjoining park was lovely. We would sit there in the morning and drink our coffee. The location could not be beat. You could go anywhere with the metro very close. Quiet neighborhood but shopping was also within walking distance. Overall a very good hotel. Oh and the best parking experience we have had in Spain. Parking is at the property, it is spacious and easy access.
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Clean, beautiful, amazing facilities. Location is good, is in the financial center, close to airport and city center. We arrived in terminal 1, we took bus 200 to get to the hotel. Public transport in Madrid by default costs 1.5 EUR(and you can pay cash inside the bus). In order to get to the center we got the bus 53 infront of Cuco’s restaurant which is super close to the hotel and it was super easy to travel around. Highly recommended. Loved it?
This is a perfect location, being attached to the Chamartin station. One can get to the airport, to amy point in Madrid, and pretty much any place in Spain by train quite easily from this hotel. The pricing was a good value. The reception allowed me a late checkout, which enabled me a quick shopping trip to El Corte Ingles before heading to the airport. The meal service was a good value and good service. The room and the hotel appeared clean and comfortable.
The room: beds are really comfy, shower is very nice! And breakfast is really a must. We were not sure about the location since we feared it was far from city centre but we then were very surprised how well connected is with city centre. The hotel is in residential area, quiet and away from the noise of city centre for good sleep but easily connected with metro to main stations, so we really recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madrid!
There are few hotels where you can say everything was flawless (except for our key cards not working once), and this is one of them. On top of that the location is excellent being directly in the city centre whilst they manage to keep the rooms wonderfully quiet. The walls were a little bit thin but much better than the typical hotel standard. The bar on top of the hotel was a nice reprieve from the overcrowded bars of Madrid
I've been back and forth to Spain from the US many times, and I always pick Clement Barajas as my airport hotel the day before I fly back. It is comfortable, close to the airport, and in walking distance to restaurants in the Barajas area. It has good facilities (a/c and wifi) and the staff are helpful. We also appreciated the 8 euro (in June 2023) breakfast buffet to fill up before our flight
really cozy small hotel in the city centre. the staff are very helpful, it’s very clean and the bed was big and comfortable. windows face the inner courtyard so it’s not very noisy from the street (at least our room), but the walls are thin, however that’s normal. has everything you need, nothing fancy but a good value for money for Madrid city centre. all the attractions are walking distance.
The hotel is beautiful. The staff (especially Galo and another staff member I don't recall her name) were awesome. I stayed in 3 hotels during my vacation in Spain. This hotel was the outstanding by far. If I visit Madrid in the future, Sardinero Madrid is where I'll be staying. The location was a 10 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, the center of Spain.
Best location in Madrid. However, the hotel is beginning to feel a little 'tired'. Friends stayed in a cheaper city centre hotel that was cheaper and had a roof-top bar and swimming pool! If you want an authentic Spanish experience in the heart of old Madrid then stay here. For comfort and value for money look elsewhere.
Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. The staff and servers are joyful, respectful, and fluent in English.
The gym was a bonus, the previous years they did not have that amenity, so it was a wonderful surprise to know. Hotel Regina has been our home every time we visit Madrid, Spain!
My husband and I came to Spain for our honeymoon and we wanted to stop in Madrid for a few days for the game, as well as, experience the culture/ sightseeing. We were not disappointed whatsoever. Madrid is beautiful and our stay at this hotel was exceptional.
Hotel was in a great location, being a short walk from Gran Via metro station, with easy connections to the airport. Room was nice and cool. Shower was decent, everything worked fine. Lovely, welcoming staff too, and decent value for the centre of Madrid.
We did not eat breakfast in the hotel. However we had dinner there and it was very tasty (wok stir fried vegetables). I am a vegetarian and it has been difficult for me to find vegetarians meals in Spain and your meal was one of the best ones I had.
Great hotel a bit at the outskirts of Madrid. we traveled with a dog and the park located next to hotel was fantastic. close to the metro as well so easy to get to the city centre. the breakfast was really good for 9.50€. Cheap parking too.
The hotel offered complimentary airport transportation. Rooms were well-maintained and spacious. Although it's a bit distant from Madrid's city centre, taxi fares range from €25 to €38. The overall experience was positive and enjoyable.
Great aestetics throughout the hotel and room. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. We travel from the south of Spain to Madrid every summer and will be staying at this hotel from now on!
The variety of food provided in the continental buffet.
The location of the hotel is excellent in Madrid city centre.
The room was spotless and the Wi-Fi was excellent.
