The Sunny Side of Croatia
Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.
Split is centred around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and boasting limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!
The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.
Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood-fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soda drinks Pipi and Orela.

Our only downside was that we got a taxi on the street near to Bana Jelacica 1 to bring us a few kms to mall of Split and charged us 60. . A guy in a black BMW. Got an uber home and cost us 8 euros. For us it worked very well. Neighborhood a little off putting at first but found it to be convenient, very comfortable and close proximity to grocery stores and several very good small restaurants. Only downside would be third floor stairs for some travelers.

We liked the Old Town and accessibility to great restaurants. We enjoyed Ciri Biri Bela for breakfast, Portofino, Fantazija: Kitchen & Wine, Karobo Varos for dinner. Zinfindel Wine Bar had a great wine tasting. There are Gelato stands and pastry shops everywhere. We enjoyed the historical tour and also the ability to take day trips to nearby locations. We visited Plitvice National Park for a day and also took an all day boat trip to Hvar and various islands on the Dalmation Coast.

the only thing wrong with Split was that there were too many people. One of the best food experiences here, fabulously interesting city. Second time visiting, so I wanted to see Diocletian's palace again

Split has many historical attractions. It has an attractive and very busy harbour. Restaraunts and Cafes for all budgets. Marjan forest Park is a good location for serious exercise or a casual walk, many good views from the high points. Very easy to get around.

Split is amazing if you like wandering around history filled streets and alleyways. There are lots of great restaurants and cafes. The people are friendly and welcoming. Great choice of boat trips and other tours to nearby islands and places of interest. Highly recommend!

The property was as advertised and clean with plenty of fresh linen provided. The apartment is a close walk into the old town of Split. There are two supermarkets next door. We had a lovely time staying in this apartment for two weeks. Everything works well. Igor is a great host and responsive to messages. Check in was easy with a key safe.
