Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.
Split is centred around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and boasting limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!
The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.
Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood-fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soda drinks Pipi and Orela.

The historic old town is a gem. No end of restaurants to.
The historic old town is a gem. No end of restaurants to. Choose from. Easy access to airport and the many nearby islands. As you may expect it is rather busy. If like my wife and I prefer somewhere a little less hectic then I'd say one day would be enough.we would probably avoid the old town as a base should we ever revisit.

Loved everything about Split.
Loved everything about Split. Lots of restaurants and bars with varying prices. Probably wouldn't be the best location for someone who loves to shop. I don't think it would be a good destination for families with young children as I didn't see much for them to do.

I loved every minute of exploring Split.
I loved every minute of exploring Split. I was only there for two days before taking a boat to Dubrovnik however I found this was a good amount of time for me. I recommend checking out the Green Market, Diocletian's Palace, the Split Riva promenade and the stunning views of the city at the Viewpoint to Marjan! Don't forget to stop along the way and check out the many cafes, restaurants and have a local brew or two... ;)
Fantastic apartment in the centre of the old town. Ground floor, no stairs. Quiet little alleyway just off the main square. Well appointed with kitchen, good size living area, lots of cupboard space in bedroom. Washing machine and detergent supplied. Good toiletries, plenty of towels.
Luggage storage available prior to checkin, cold beer in fridge and welcome snacks.
Host was friendly and offers of any help required.
Probably the best place we stayed in Croatia for amenities and space.
Stayed here two nights and really enjoyed our stay in this bright, modern, and extremely clean sobe. Silvija is a gracious host and allowed us to check in a little early on day of arrival. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary while in Split and Silvija was kind enough to give us a bottle of local wine, Croatian chocolates, and beautiful flowers from the nearby market. All the sights are within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay here again, without question.
location in the heart of old town split, amazing roof top terrace, easy check in and check out,Tony the guy who looks after this place was always in contact with us up to checking in,also arranged pick up for us from airport,Natalie the lovely lady picked us up,was very informative about split and Croatia on our transfer to and from the airport, all rooms were very clean with everything we needed,10/10 this is a must stay in the heart of old town split
The apartment is a very close walk to the old town, and the bed was large with very good and comfortable pillows. I noticed in my stay in Croatia that the pillows tend to be too soft and flimsy, so I was pleased that here the pillows were a good size and sturdy. Host was very friendly and accommodating, and the windows had nets which allowed us to open for fresh air without insects getting in.
The room was lovely, right in the thick of Split, an easy walk into the Old Town and close to the city beaches. We loved staying here for a couple days, recovering after our Croatia Sail before traveling onwards.
And our host was beyond kind, welcoming & helpful. We damaged something in the room in an accident and she was very warm & understanding. Thank you so much for your kindness!!
Beautiful hotel located in the center of the old city. Walking distance to all historical sites. Staff is very friendly with positive aptitude to assist their guests, very kind and professional. They keep the hotel very clean. Rooms are very spacious and elegant. I do recommend this hotel. We visit Croatia and Split was our favorited city, we were glad to stay in this beautiful hotel.
The host was incredibly helpful for me to get oriented in the city, since I flew into Split airport. For a nominal fee he picked me up and took me to a local cevapi kiosk to enjoy a popular croatian food. The apartment was efficient yet accommodating and the host was very easy to communicate and coordinate with. I found that it was a good location to explore the city.
Perfect stay in the heart of split. We were in Croatia for a wedding and we absolutely loved staying at Ivona’s property. The room is equipped with everything you need, and Ivona added some special touches to make it extra special. She gave us some great local recommendations and also helped us generously with our bags on the last day.
Had a great stay at Four Elements, the host was very helpful! Gave us lots of tips on where to go, things to do and places to eat
The room was comfy, clean and had aircon which is essential in the Croatian heat
The apartment is also a short 10min walk to old town which was great, we were out there most nights
The Cornaro hotel is on the edge of Old Town, so very convenient for visiting the historic sights in Split. The staff was very kind and helpful, onsite parking is available (additional $) and a fantastic free continental breakfast was included with our stay. The rooms were comfortable, quiet and clean.
One of the best apartments we stayed at during our Croatia trip. It was very clean, comfortable and modern with all the expected appliances including a washing machine. The location is ideal with the apartment located less than 10 mins away from the City centre and Split Riva.
It's two minutes walking to old town. Very clean. Nives is probably the best host we've ever had. So friendly and caring, but also gives you a lot of privacy. Would totally recomend and looking forward to come back. One of the best discoveries in Croatia.
My sister and I stayed here upon our arrival to Croatia. Andrea was a hilarious, charming and welcoming appearance and a wonderful welcome to the country. The hotel is gorgeous, staff so welcome, and could not be more perfectly situated. We will be back!
One of the best apartments on our visit to Croatia. The hosts were awesome and they have thought of everything that a guest may need and them more. Highly, highly recommend that property for anyone looking to stay in Split old town.
I was at the end of May. The best time to visit Croatia. It's not so hot and crowd. Location is perfect! Close to city centre. Clean rooms and bathroom. Kitchen is available to cook.
Highly recommend! Great location, super friendly host, who waited and welcomed us to the place.
After one week in Croatia this is No doubt best apartment hotel according to us.
Position of hotel is the best. Facilities are great. Staf is above Croatian standard, much more above. Breakfast was excellent. Pool very warm, sauna very hot, etc.
