Hawthorne Hotel, hotel in Salem

This Salem, Massachusetts hotel is located just 591 feet from the Salem Witch Museum and Salem Common. It features an on-site restaurant and bar and free Wi-Fi access in every room.

I loved my stay at the Hawthorne. I was originally booked for 3 nights and I booked a 4th night in another smaller room in the hotel at the last minute and when getting ready to switch rooms the staff let me stay in the room I had been in which was so helpful and so nice. The entire hotel is so beautiful. I ate at both restaurants and food was delicious and staff was great! Location is perfect and there was plenty of parking during my stay. I was there in late May. I will definitely be back.

Most of the attractions are within walking distance.

Most of the attractions are within walking distance. The Salem Witch trial exhibits were very interesting for history lesson. Red's Diner is highly recommended for breakfast. Do not miss the Essex Peabody Museum , very large and impressive and the Chinese House is not to be missed.

Such an interesting historical gem of a city.

Such an interesting historical gem of a city. Lots to explore, contemplate and take in. You absorb the witchy vibe in a cool way, but then keep exploring the museums, waterfront, parks and fantastic shops and restaurants. Like a mini-Boston, but more focused.

Salem is a great little city with so much historical significance, beautiful old homes and a fantastic museums. If you have the time, it is well worth a side trip. Mercy Tavern is also a great spot, lovely food, cocktails and staff. I wanted to go to Salem since I was a child, 30 years later I finally made it. You won't be disappointed.

Anybody that is in to the type of stuff in Salem would love it. Could spend a week there just looking at all the shops. Then you have the tours and self guided paths, you really just have to research what you are into.

Salem is a fun place to visit.

Salem is a fun place to visit. Lots of attractions and activities to keep you busy. Food was great and many places to choose from. We liked Reds, Dire Wolf Tavern and Carmel Patisserie. I would highly recommend any time of year because of the variety of attractions and places to visit. The Witch Dungeon Museum and the Witch House were among my favorites to visit. Awesome place for a girls get away. We were able to walk everywhere and see what we wanted. The boutiques and shopping were awesome. We also did a Psychic Reading and a Witches Circle and Witch City Walking tour. We loved all of them. I would definitely come back and do them again.

The history of Salem is just so..

The history of Salem is just so.. Interesting, colorful, fasinating, rewarding and a little sad. What human beings can doing to each other is unbelievable in both evil and good ways. We stayed at the Salem INN and loved it. Ate at Turners, Rockafellas and some other places that slip my mind. These two were great. Used the trolly and walked alot.

The Coach House is slightly removed from downtown Salem. The posh amenities and decor were fabulous, and certainly made up for two minute drive to downtown Salem/museum area or to wharf for delicious dinner. The communication between concierge & myself regarding access were timely and seem less. There were an abundance of towels and my “tween” niece felt like a Princess between decor & luxe linens etc. I hard ordered the t-shirt as a little bonus “birthday” gift for my young niece.

Right in the middle of the main strip, we weren’t really sure what to expect from a micro king room. It was fantastic! Just the right size for my husband and I for a night! Cozy and stylish! Our view wasn’t much, but it was such a nice setup inside that we weren’t focused on that anyway. AND! We didn’t know that The Hotel Salem had a rooftop bar with the most deliciously fresh tacos and drinks!!

Absolutely incredible art in the room. Probably the coolest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. My daughter stayed up half the night just admiring the art. We were in the enchanted forest room. Staff were also super nice and accommodating, and the area was quiet but close enough to downtown Salem to walk.

This was the most beautiful hotel I think I’ve ever stayed in. This hotel is not ultra modern, it is a historic hotel; but the attention to detail and upkeep to their roots were exceptional. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Great breakfast food too! Within walking distance of main sites of Salem.

Good location. Staff were helpful. The swimming pool was small but good to swim in on a very hot day. The rooms were okay, clean but a little dated. The location was excellent for visiting both Salem town and the harbour area.

It was a lovely modern stay for our trip to Salem. I imagine once you could sit outside (we had rain) it would be lovely around the fire pit. It was handy for us to park the car as well.
