The property was simply gorgeous
My husband and I were here for our wedding anniversary. I loved the flowers and the Austrian feel. It really felt like you your in Europe. The rooms were outstanding and I like the fact that u could go out to the balcony and look at the excellent view of the mountains like your actually in the Alps. The story of the Von Trapps is through out the halls of each floor.
Omg !!! Then there was the awesome Bierhall next store. If you love the Von Trapps story then u will need to visit the family lodge. There is soo much to see and do at the resort. With 2500 acres there is no need to leave the property. Anyone that is thinking about this place …. You need to go !
You will be in love 💕

The staff were super cool and friendly. The location was about a half hour away from Burlington and about 10 min from downtown Stowe. Drinks from the bar were well crafted and there was a band second night there which I wasn’t expecting.
The best part about Tälta is it’s different than a regular hotel stay where you just walk in the lobby and go straight to your room. It’s a place you feel like you wanna explore and get to know to know other people.
I would definitely stay here again knowing what I know now and what’s offered. But it wasn’t everything I was expecting based off photos/ description.

Recommended by a friend of the family. Room was large, well appointed, comfortable, and quiet. The facility is undergoing renovations after the Covid Pandemic caused a major loss of business. Happy to support this institution as it recovers.
Nice town; I've visited here a few times before. Plenty of restaurants. Excellent motorcycling roads. Places to purchase wine and groceries. Nice place for me to visit and ride motorcycle in mountains. Also close to Quebec to get Poutine for lunch!

Stowe.... a skiers paradise.
Stowe.... a skiers paradise. Cute downtown area, awsome skiing. Nice apres ski options. My wife and I attempt to visit every winter. The town offers a good variety of eateries, resturants stores etc. One tip though... try to book a hotel that offers breakfast. I honestly could not offer a recommendation on a sit down resterant for breakfast. Just my opinion.

Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey.
Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey. Shops are very pricey but lots of homemade items and boutique type places. Food is really good at the restaurants. Everyone is really friendly. Will I be back probably not, but not because it was bad just very slow paced not for me. Definitely out of a hallmark movie though!

You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup and hollandaise sauce at the Butler's Pantry. Alchemist brewery is a must stop and Von Trapp Brewery and lodge grounds deserve a visit. Great place in the winter, if you like winter sports. But with all the natural beauty, it is worth a visit any time a year. Fall foliage is awesome to see in this area.

We love Stowe.
We love Stowe. We have been here many times starting over 50 years ago on our honeymoon!! The character of the town is just wonderful. This year they had a Halloween parade with the children of the town all dressed up!! It was charming! We will definitely be back!!

Stowe is adorable.
Stowe is adorable. The reputation it has as a fall foliage destination is well deserved. The little downtown is adorable and very walkable, the traffic wasn't great but we were able to find parking relatively easily. If visiting from out of town, you're going to want a rental car since many of the attractions are spaced miles apart. There are a ton of great food-related things to try near by. We really enjoyed the sugar houses (we saw Bragg Farm and Goodrich's Maple Farm and recommend them both - about 40ish minutes out of town), Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot cheese shop, and Ben and Jerry's factory. We stopped at but didn't stay at the Trapp Family Lodge, which was well worth seeing. We did try the Trapp Kaffeehaus (which also serves their beer) which was great. If you like hard cider we also recommend Stowe Cider.
Comfortable bed, lots of space for the two of us. I liked that you could separate the suite by closing the bedroom door. If someone wanted to lounge on the sofa and watch TV, they could do so while someone slept in the bedroom.
It was also nice to have a TV in each room should folks have varied tastes in programs.
The bathroom and the rooms in general were very clean. The hotel was close to town ( 7 minutes by car), which made it a quiet spot with plenty of available parking.
We loved how accessible it is using the shuttle , food options at town was plenty and great
The hotel staff were catering to our needs , rooms were in good size with microwave and kettle for coffee
The sauna indoor pool and hot tub were a great addition apres ski and kids game area made it easy for my kid to meet other kids and enjoy his time
Food options at the hotel were excellent for a quick bite if you dont feel like leaving the hotel
The hotel, while the facilities are old and simple, is well-maintained and managed by the family. Everything is basic, simple, economic but working so that customers' basic needs for accommodations can be met. For example, there is no coffee maker in each room but hot coffee is provided and available in the dining room 24 hours. The breakfast is served with hot meals w/ varieties, which is the best feature of this family hotel!
The hotel is a great accomodation if you want to ski Mt. Mansfield in Stowe. Good restaurants in walking distance and you skip the traffic at the Stowe intersection of 100 and 108. The downstairs is very nice, with three fire places, and a spacious common room. We loved the breakfast (different home-made pastries every day) and enjoyed a Blues Band on the first day of our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Field Guide Lodge. From the time we arrived until the day we departed the staff were extremely welcoming and hospitable. I’d expected a very ‘corporate’ hotel experience so the friendliness of the entire team was very welcome.
Breakfasts were delicious with different options to choose every day and nothing felt like typical hotel fare.
Nice and comfortable stay with my teenager.
The place is very the center so you can walk to the brewery, the mini golf, the restaurant, the ici cream and even the bike/walk path.
The room is decent with share bathrooms. Everything was clean.
The price is fair enough for what you get, even more for Stowe area.
Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Nice bread and baked goods, eggs, yogurt & fruit. Location is the best because you're closer to Stowe Mountain Resort than most of the other hotels and lodges. The pool, hot tub, and sauna are great. Nice water pressure in shower.
Good location to all Stowe village and mountain resort activities. Beautiful grounds and fall views from the property. Room was spacious and had a fully equipped kitchen. Modern bathroom, loved the underfloor heating in bathroom.
The property is clean, well furnished and located close to restaurants and Stowe mountain. Everything was ready when we arrived, check in was very convenient. Plenty of towels and beddings. The pool and Sauna were really good
The place is old and outdated but this is the 2nd time my family has stayed there and my kids love it. It has a large pool, 3 hot tubs and 2 saunas. The cost is great for the Stowe area so it is a good deal for the money.
