The lock system was what drew me to Thorold but I enjoyed the town itself as well. I had dinner at places near the historic town center: Donnelly’s pub, where I had a great lamb stew, and breakfast at Hana’s which was friendly with good food. I found some nice shops in that area as well and some lovely homes and parks.DebbieCanada

Two bedrooms had an ensuite bathroom, the other bedrooms had a separate shared bath. The area, fairly new townhomes, seem comprised of college age students. There are stores and restaurants in nearby Thorold and about a 30 min drive to NOTL.. We stayed the weekend to attend the ice wine festival and visit nearby wineries. Overall, we had a great stay and would come back again.

We enjoyed sitting on the balcony. There was a parking on site which was an advantage, the area was nice and quiet as the hotel is in a residential area. The Hotel was very clean and hygienic. The location and balcony are ideal for watching the huge boats passing through Lock 7. The town of Thorold is charming. A special treat was discovering that on Friday evenings in the summer there is a “Ride Night” of vintage cars in the town centre. The staff were pleasant and very accommodating. I loved the fact that the parking was for free and easy to find a spot even when we arrived at night. The rooms are very spacious, clean and it looks like they recently renovated as everything is modern and new.
