Everything we needed. Very very clean. Little park sanctuary in the front. Very welcoming.

Chincoteague before Memorial Day and after Labor Day is delightful. The shops are open and traffic is minimal. During the summer season, there are a lot of tourists and traffic. There is only 1 way in and out of the island (other than your own boat) and it can quickly become very congested. Other than that, there are many restaurants with varied menus and price points. I recommend going to the Wildlife Refuge and driving the Loop. On this visit, we were able to see a large group of ponies during the drive! Another interesting place to visit is Wallops Flight Facility, which is just before you cross over onto Chincoteague. This is a NASA launch facility, and they have a very interesting display of rockets and other space-related items; you might even catch the launch of a rocket!

Quaint town with good food. Not a lot of people.
Quaint town with good food. Not a lot of people. If you are looking for night life or lots of thing to do, it's not for you. There are a couple of coffee shops, 1/2 a dozen restaurants, 2 mini golfs, a water park, and some small shops. if you want a quiet get away, then it's perfect.

Was a relaxing island. Felt the nature all around.
Was a relaxing island. Felt the nature all around. We ate at the Pearl restaurant which had great food and a lovely view of the marsh. Our server pointed out the ponies in the distance and brought us binoculars to see them.

It is a very small town.
It is a very small town. There aren’t many restaurants and places to eat. Everything closes very early, so plan accordingly. it’s perfect for a short vacation, one or two days, if you live about 2 hrs away. It is nice if you like riding bikes, fishing, kayaking. We live in Richmond and it is the same distance to OBX. In my opinion, I would go to NC. The beach is nicer and you’ll have more to do. But if you live in northern Va o MD. It is perfect!
I've stayed at this property several times now as an early-spring break to see Chincoteague Island. The staff has always been exceptionally friendly and helpful, much more than I normally expect for a chain motel. Even though I go during the off season, and much of the island is closed up, the hotel always seems just as dedicated to keeping things humming along. And the location literally could not be better - they are the last hotel right before you cross the bridge to the National Park land.
The hotel is now under new management. The improvements already made were quite noticeable--including a competent and very friendly and accommodating staff, a much cleaner facility, and grounds improvement. It has only been a short while since the change occurred, so the new staff hasn't had a great deal of time to make changes. But, if the improvements continue as seen so far, this hotel will soon be an even better value for the money. We will definitely return.
We chose the Chincoteague Inn Motel because of its central location in town and ease of travel to the beach and other attractions nearby. Our room was very clean. The facility does not offer free continental breakfast but does have a screen house for picnics outdoors (with purchased food) -- needed due to the very buggy conditions in the summer! The seasonal outdoor pool was a welcome way to cool off after a day of exploring.
We stayed in a beautifully updated room, but overall the staff very incredibly lovely, many thoughtful touches around the place including access to bikes, picnic baskets and the likes for those on holiday, the breakfast was incredible, and the location is perfect for a stay in Chincoteague. Overall we had a lovely time! Love the special touches in the room including guide and history books.
This is our 3rd stay at Island Resort and each time is better than before. From the moment you walk in, the staff is friendly, accommodating and well versed in all aspects of Chincoteague and what there is to offer. Our rooms have always been clean and comfortable. The views from each room are beyond expectation. We will always go back to Island Resort for our visits.
We loved the location. We loved the pool and loved the family-friendly atmosphere. This is a seaside motel. There are always going to be pluses and minuses. You aren't staying in the 4 Seasons. You are there to explore the island, go to the beach, and crash when you get back to your hotel room. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back.
It was our second visit and we love the view from the balcony. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We didn't try the included breakfast because the hotel is only about 3 blocks from Amarin Coffee, which has the best breakfast pastries and coffee I've ever tasted.
We’ve been vacationing in Chincoteague for ten years now. I think we’ve found our new go to motel. Rooms are comfortable with all the amenities you need. There is a lot of outdoor space you can use also. The summer kitchen is great for meals, if it’s not being used. Pool is nice too.
Hampton Inn is a beautiful hotel, with nice view, friendly and professional staff. The room temperture was very comfortable; my huaband and I loved it a lot. Very clean room with comfortable beds. The breakfast area is very nice; the pool and hot tub as well.
Love the location and the screen patio with the grill. I love the easy walk to the waterfront park. I walked to all the shops and met a few locals. This town is so sweet and kind. The room was updated with new furniture and the bed was really cozy.
Super affordable compared to the other hotels. My gf and I were looking for something nice but wouldn’t break the bank. It had everything we needed and was a perfect place to stay. It was our first time at the island and we had a blast.
Next to the water, small marina, quiet, clean, balcony, pool and breakfast. It's like the little brother of the 4.5 star hotel next door and they share amenities and location but for a better rate.
Everything! The room was a wonderful size. The staff was very friendly. The view was amazing. How the lights work in the rooms..
Great idea! One of the best hotels I have stayed in.
Clean, friendly, decent breakfast and particularly well situated for beautiful Chincoteague Island which was free to drive around after checking in time.
