Good restaurants in The Old Town. Kind people everywhere, good prices, funny city traffic with Balkan rules, but no one was rude, no claksons. The biggest negative is waste everywhere in the streets - bottles, cigarettes, papers, plastic bags, old tree branches, leafs.. It´s a pitty because I thing Ulcing is nice town with its special atmosphere and keeping it clean would raise interest of it. City beach is i a one word just horrible. Ulcinje is quite clean and the climate in Summer is agreable because of the sea. In general in Montenegro and in particular in Ulcinje, the cleanliness could be improved. Small city with lack of healthy food variety in restaurants, and too much night life noise at night at the beach. The main drag is mostly clean, but the beach isn't, and walking through back alley's are also very disappointing - heavily littered by trash (plastic, broken glass, broken furniture, feces, and food). If you don't mind walking up and down the hilly landscape to apartments and hotels multiple times a day in 40 C, then you can find a quiet, clean place away from the beach to relax.Guest review byBarnes - 8.0

If you are interested in the beaches, the Long beach is just great, regardless if you pay for the sunbeds or use an empty space inbetween. You need a car if you are not close to the beaches. I don't recommend swimming in the sea in the old town. Valdanos is not maintained, Limani 1, 2 - so so. I recommed a boat tour - 40E, and visiting the Old Town castle (worth of visiting once during a stay). For a four-member family, you'll need about between 50 and 100E a day. Ulcinj has a beautiful long sandy beach with bunch of beach bars. The sea level is not too deep so you will need to go far from the shore to be able to swim. It is good for children learning how to swim. Ulcinj is special about its 2500 years old town which has narrow stoned streets and beautiful sea view. The food is okay, standard sea food with traditional Balkan cuisine. During the season, the town is crowded and it is a bit difficult to get around by car, but that is your only option.Guest review byFaruk - 8.0

Nice little town, easy to walk in from our hotel so didn’t use car which nice change. Tried all different restaurants at seafront and away from seafront cheaper. A short drive from the Ulcinj old town, and the Solana Bird Reservoir. The owner was hospitable, and checked on us periodically to see if we needed anything. Our pets were treated kindly. The room was freshly mopped and clean. The AC was refreshing, sheets were tidy.
