Great location with simple but comfortable rooms. We were upgraded to a room with a beautiful view. The breakfast was of high quality. The highlight was the hotel balcony with incredible views over the valley. Stunning. The host who picked us up from the car park went above and beyond. He suggested the neighboring restaurant, Pod Voltom. I was skeptical but we had an amazing dinner with the same spectacular view. The best meal of the week in Croatia and a good value too!

We loved our stay at Goran’s place. Very comfortable and beautiful views from the balcony over the valley. Goran was an attentive host who made sure we felt very welcome. His check in instructions were superb and we appreciated the free parking spot. This is a place where you have to climb to reach the old city - so I’d strongly recommend packing a small overnight bag and leaving suitcases in the car. Amazing location in a beautiful & magical place.

The location is amazing; beside the winery, with the magnificent view of the village. The apartment is brand new and decorated with good taste and quality material. Theres a parking spot and a nice outdoor space to take a coffee or apéritive.

Great location, and very comfortable and clean! Dalia, the host, coordinated the parking, and helped me when I accidentally trip and scrapped my leg. She’s an excellent host and has a great place! Highly recommend staying here!

This was a great value outside of Motovun with enough space for our family of four. We made use of the kitchen and made dinner the night we stayed. There were plenty of towels and the air conditioning was wonderful. We went for a quick walk down the road to a winery (which was closed) that looked wonderful to visit.

    Great little town to walk around in. Great local wineries. Amazing local fruit stand as you make your way up the hill. He had the best selection of the most wonderful fruit and veggies. The ice cream was fantastic. Sampling of truffles and local alcohol without being pressured was amazing. Just fantastic hospitality overall shown by the locals.

    Motovun is a wonderful place full of history and unique charm, though travelers should know that almost all of the restaurants and bars are closed during the month of February. In February it resembles a ghost town.

    Beautiful ancient town with much to see and lots of great restaurants and shops. Not great for people with mobility issues of any kind. The walking is a bit of a workout. Very steep hills and cobblestone roads. Parking seems to be an issue.

    Motovun is a charming and almost fairy-tale like village on...

    Motovun is a charming and almost fairy-tale like village on a hill. We felt like we had completely gone back in time; yet, we had easy access to almost all of the rest of Istria from there, including seaside towns, wine tasting, truffle hunting, olive oil tasting and local shopping. The furthest town was Pula. Everything else was more like 30 minutes. We are spending two weeks in Croatia and we are so thankful we spent three days/nights in Motovun as our hub for visiting Istria. Heads up: it is a lot of uphill walking on cobblestones to get into the center of town - but SO worth it.

    Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

    A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

    A wonderful hotel right in the heart of the Motovun. Room was spaceous and super nice! We had a Castellum room with a balcony and we could not ask for any better room! Restaurants in Motovun are fantastic and all true foodies should visit Motovun at least once in their lifetime! We will definitely return.

    Great location in the center of Motovun, clean apartment, good airconditioning, useful shared kitchen with a large fridge and freezer, nice coffee machine to use. Tip, also go to the restaurant of the owner just across the street, food was sublime!

    The house is in a laid-back setting in the greens. Spacious and nicely furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen and a/c on each floor. Also great views to Motovun hill from top floors. 5 mins drive to main road leading to Motovun / Mirna river.
