UNESCO site. Beautiful landscapes. wear proper hiking waterproof shoes. Raincoat for rainy days in March. plan to spend at least 2 nights. book rides with the Hotel to facilitate the arrival process...visitors have to pay entrance fee to the Ping On village. there is a ticket office and security gate for this purpose. travel light and enjoy its natural beauty.Guest review byanneCanada - 10.0
Beautiful, underrated, I should have stayed one more night.
Beautiful, underrated, I should have stayed one more night. It was very easy to get around and the entire village at Ping'an has English and Chinese signage all on farming/hiking trails. I can't believe how empty the village is and part of me is concerned that not enough tourists are visiting even though I loved the serenity of it. Wonderful position and stunning views. This wooden pearl was selected as 2019 top small hotels in china and we can understand why. The hotel offers an excellent restaurant with delicious home made dishes. Wifi was very good. Our room was wonderful and super clean. Jason, the host, has been incredible nice and helpful since the very beginning, making easier our stay and giving great advices to enjoy the experience in the rice terraces. Helen is a really good host and she speaks good English. Also helped us to book the bus and pick us up from bus station. The room is clean and very comfortable, with gorgeous view. The food in her restaurant is fresh and yummy, the service was perfect and there’s a lot of options for locals as well as foreigners. Also views were lovely from the balcony and dining terrace. this is a more simple and local place, has cottage feeling to it, whereas there are these modern looking scandi style hotels with bathtubs, but there was something down to earth in this one. In front of the hotel, there is a large terrace that offers a panoramic view , providing a broad and fascinating vista.
