CanadaLocation, ac alternative provided w/out asking, alternative access to locked hotel main entrance provided in most helpful & congenial manner, free parking immediately beside main front & rear of building. Nostalgic appearance maintained ( no lift/elevator - prepare to walk up&down to 2-4th floor rooms.
Interior halls have musky odour, near claustrophobic sensations despite 2m wide halls ( could alleviate stillness of air with ceiling & floor fans). Bathroom & shower stall appeared to be finished by non-skilled worker as transition btwn walls & tile appeared hastily sealed (jagged & uneven application of sealant), shower curtain overlap on stall floor may lead to tripping hazard on entry/exit.
Restaurant in hotel , large sized portions, robot food delivery that still required verbal request of lone wait staff for condiment… novel delivery w/obvious limitations.

I was there for work!
I was there for work! I would highly recommend the Indian restaurant there! Mughal garden restaurant. I’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants in Vancouver and this is right up there for quality. Don’t let the decor fool you it’s fantastic food, for so cheap!! $10.99 for dinner. I had the goat curry with naan. I will be going back every time I’m in merrit!Guest review bypenny - 8.0

The murals were fun to walk around to look at. We enjoyed the museum. Every person in service work was friendly and chatty in a really nice way. There is a good choice of places to eat, to stay, and places to walk around, looking at murals and historical homes that are easily seen on foot. We had a good breakfast at the Coldwater Hotel, a beautiful old building, and were completely surprised to be served our food by a robot! The server, lovely woman, informed us that the restaurant tried to find staff, but no one applied and the robot enables her to not be run off her feet.Guest review byleighCanada - 4.0

We heard that it is not a good time to visit Merritt this summer. This is apparently because of floods evacuees from the neighboring areas are occupying most hotel rooms. This is probably the reason for high price for a hotel room we had to pay during our stay. Merritt is also not ready to handle diners at the restaurants and fast food this summer- We had to face much longer lines than in other towns on our road trip from Calgary to Vancouver.Guest review bySohaibKuwait - 10.0
At the first glance, Merritt doesn't look like much, but...
At the first glance, Merritt doesn't look like much, but when you start discovering it, it is really nice. We visited lake Nicola and Lake St. Jeune, both very beautiful. It was quiet and a bit quirky, which was good. The photo shows the classic fridge. The restaurant is great, especially with the $15 coupon - beats hotel buffets hands down.
