We love Auburn!
We love Auburn! Despite being beside the freeway the town has everything a traveller could want. Beautiful days, hot weather but cool at night to make sleeping easy. For us it was most things were within easy walking distance of where we stayed on the edge of the old town. Auburn is a great Sierra foothill community with a rich history and lots of great outdoor adventures (hiking, mountain biking, kayaking) nearby. There are plenty of great restaurants, galleries, live music venues and an old theater that routinely holds interesting events - such as the screening of a documentary "River Runner" while we were there. We ate at Crudo, a new asian/fusion restaurant and it was fabulous. Other guests ate at a wonderful Mexican restaurant near our inn. We walked from our hotel to the State Theater and drove down to the nearby confluence of the North Fork and South Fork of the American River for a wonderful picnic and some wading in the river.Guest review byDeborah HoffmanUnited States - 2.0
Motels are too expensive.
Motels are too expensive. Motels most won't work with you on anything. Just say that's the way it is here,were an expensive place. But it's not far enough in resort areas or national forest like lake Tahoe or with casinos like Reno to warrant such high prices,for average motel name brands.
