The staff was amazing, especially the owners daughter who seated us in the restaurant :) The room was lovely and very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the sauna and the rooftop! There was a very nice spread of fruit, cheese, yogurt, nuts, boiled eggs, baguette.

The hosts were so friendly and provided wonderful suggestions for area activities and dining. We enjoyed our visits with Carla and Sam over coffee in the mornings. The house cats were cute and friendly. The shared bathroom facilities were always clean. Gabriel the sweet dog greeted us each time we arrived back at the property. The goats, chickens, ducks and sled dogs added to the eclectic atmosphere and made us feel we were having a wonderful and unique experience. Picking blackberries and apples was an unexpected bonus. We read the property description and reviews in advance, making us aware this was a rural home stay. Thanks for a great stay!

The stay was very nice. We needed some maintenance done on a bed when we arrived and they were very efficient at getting it taken care of.

Location is great, gorgeous views of Chequamegon Bay, breakfast offerings were good, staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. My son and I were there when the flooding on the 3rd floor happened and I just want to thank the staff for how they handled the situation, nothing crazier than having to deal with fire alarms and flooding during the night, but the staff did everything they could to inform and get everyone where they needed to go.

The close proximity to view the lake from our balcony, though there isn’t any lake access. We could watch the boats with the binoculars. Easy short drive to town. Staff was helpful, and it helped to have the option of getting a hot pizza from the office, that they delivered in a pizza box. (They are local, frozen, and you can select from a variety of pizzas for $16- the staff cooks it in their pizza oven.) Bed was comfortable, and the chairs on the balcony were comfortable too. We played arts on the balcony at the table. We liked the screen door leading to the balcony. The staff will deliver fresh towels outside your door when requested, so this is also a nice touch. If you want coffee, or tea anytime, you can get it inside the office. (There isn’t a. coffee maker in the room). For breakfast, they have fruit and nut bars, frozen breakfast burritos and Trix yogurt to take. The office is quaint and

    Quaint & fun little town.

Quaint & fun little town. Great jumping off point for the Apostle Islands. A lot of driving from MSP for a weekend excursion (prior to a work trip in Minnesota), but very happy I did it! I would return.

    The boat tour was fun.

The boat tour was fun. The Rittenhouse sucked and was overpriced. Dinner at the Bayfield Inn was misleading. 4 scallops fit on a tablespoon and a weird tasting tiny steak for over 50 bucks. We asked to sit at an open table by the window and denied , even though they don't take reservations. We stopped at a couple local pubs and had a great time there.

Mobile check-in worked nicely. Staff were always a message away to answer any questions or offer excellent tips for where to eat. Nice lawn area to relax, and each room on the 2nd floor has a small outdoor veranda area with chairs!

Bayfield looks like it's on the East coast being set on Lake Superior. Lots of the buildings are Victorian-looking and with the sailboats everywhere on the lakefront, it's incredibly picturesque. It's small and inviting. The Apostle Island ferry tours are the best and the option to go to Madeline Island via ferry is fun and interesting. I didn't realize there are so many apple/berry orchards around. My favorite was Hauser's. It's a small, family-run orchard with a beautiful big red barn that they ordered from Sear's back in the day. It's gorgeous, they make the best cider and have a wonderful gift shop. I bought a bag of Duchess apples and made pie with them when I got home-SO good.
