We absolutely loved this hotel but you have GOT to upgrade to smart TVs. I was shocked that such a nice hotel with such a great rating would have regular TVs with DirectTV and on demand rental movies. If you get streaming/casting you will have nothing but 9-10 Star ratings. Everything else was wonderful.

FAQs about hotels in Atlanta

Peachy City of Historic Importance

Home to the world’s busiest airport and a vibrant arts scene, Atlanta has an important role in US history. The gateway to the American South, it's home to barbecue and hundreds of peach trees that make it a surprisingly green city.

Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the main arrival point, and Booking.com has an excellent range of Atlanta hotels near the airport. However, the main sights are clustered around Downtown. Near the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol is Underground Atlanta, a shopping center at the former downtown street level.

Just north are a few hotels near Georgia Dome, a huge sports venue, and to its northeast is Centennial Olympic Park, commemorating the 1996 Olympic Games. On one edge of this park are the CNN headquarters with behind-the-scenes tours. Across the street is the New World of Coca-Cola where you can sample all their worldwide products. Next door is the massive Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.

In the Auburn district is Martin Luther King, Jr.’s former home and church, and a museum dedicated to him and the Civil Rights movement. A few blocks south in Grant Park is the city zoo, and the Atlanta Cyclorama and museum, detailing the city’s Civil War battles.

More national history is in the Carter Center, and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone with the Wind.

We took a one time trip to Atlanta to take in a Braves game and experience the attractions. Most areas of Atlanta seemed safe and we had a good time although we were out of our element in a big city setting it was okay for a few days.

Atlanta is the premier city of the south. It’s definitely in the league of its own but can compare with city’s such as Las Vegas, New York, and Miami. As far as things to do places to see and had a really good food scene.

    We loved the Atlanta aquarium.

We loved the Atlanta aquarium. Atlanta botanical gardens, Stone Mountain. The natural history museum was on the small side, but we loved the trails and forest behind the museum. We also walked through Oakland cemetery, which is beautiful. Traffic going into and away from Atlanta is backed up but driving in Atlanta was fine. We recommend the flying biscuit cafe for breakfast

Lennox Mall is worth the trip.

Lennox Mall is worth the trip. Hotels in Buckhead are closest if that is your destination. We stayed at Embassy Suites but intend to pay a little more for JW Marriott next time. Pricing is to be expected with Buckhead hotels, but not too bad. Traffic in Buckhead is busy and congested, but that's to be expected. It's actually easy to navigate around in and the rest of ATL by the end of a full day. Many attractions are available and something to do for all ages-Restaurants, Parks, entertainment, a dog park, shopping (from high end to thrift stores in other parts of ATL), and culture. venues and attractions for very budget throughout ATL with genuine Southern Hospitality. Loved our visit!

Atlanta is the NYC-Lite of the South, with an unlimited number of extrordinary sightseeing and culinary experiences to engage. Unlike others southern destinations, Altanta and nearby cities like Columbia, Macon and Agusta, among others hold great unique historical treasures that help shape our great nation.
