FAQs about hotels in Cairo

Resting Place of Pharaohs

Born of an ancient civilization, Cairo is a vast metropolis centered around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.

The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including finds from Tutankhamen's tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

East is Islamic Cairo, home to the 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk (remember to haggle). The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.

If you need a break from cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.

Before heading to your Cairo accommodations, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

Cairo is one of the largest cities in the Middle East, often described as overwhelming but exhilarating. It's noisy, bustling, and full of life. The traffic can be intense, and the city isn’t the cleanest, but its energy and depth of history make it unforgettable

It is a chaos. Organized chaos.

It is a chaos. Organized chaos. It's once in a lifetime experience but for once only. I loved it but I am not going back again. I had my fill of this place. It was on my list but now that it is done, I am glad I did it. Dusty, traffic is horrendous, People trying to rip you off with smiles and "tips". You settle on a price for a taxi, a tour and at the end, they ask for extra, which is not part of the price. Good thing is that their currency is so low, that it really doesn't bother you monetarily if you have US dollars or Euros. But it does leave a bad taste unnecessarily. Food is great and cheap. Most of the places are clean enough for the westerners' stomachs. And it has nothing but pyramids and a few museums when it comes to history..

Cairo is a city full of contrasts, especially in the areas near the pyramids. As long as you’re accompanied by a guide or hotel staff, you’ll feel comfortable and safe. The traffic can be intense, but we truly enjoyed discovering the city’s rich and fascinating history.

We spent two action-packed days in Cairo, visiting the Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, Khan El Khalili Bazaar, and enjoying a classic koshari at Abu Tarek, as well as a super late dinner at Balbaa Grills, where the meat was literally melting in our mouths. There's still so much more to explore—we definitely need to come back. The city is chaotic, noisy, and incredibly hot, with wild driving and no traffic rules… but absolutely worth the experience!

Cairo is a great place , nice places to see / dine and visit , best times , avoid Summer , go there any other times. , use a tour guide if you dont know anyone and use tour guide car with driver , avoid taxis / normal Uber , they can be a nightmare , drivers can drive dangerously and frighten the daylight out of you . Al Rifa mosque , The toomb of many great men Curises are nice , Andrea was good , St Georges church Grand Egyption musium , spinks , the pyramids and some of the mosques , and some castles . do your research before going and stick to your plans and don't listen the locals , they charge commissions for taking you to their place that may not interest you , my daughter lives there so i was OK.

    Cairo is a wonderful city.

Cairo is a wonderful city. It is bustling with history and culture. If you are looking for relaxation, don't choose Cairo. The city is alive, it breathes and moves constantly. The old things are wonderful, but don't look around on the streets, there is too much trash. I don't know if this will ever change, that people pay attention to their surroundings.

Arranged at last minute and hotel was very helpful at arranging airport taxi. Room was passable and rather clean. Food ok (breakfast buffet), some items are regularly out though. It is pretty cheap and close to Giza pyramids and those are the only advantages. View from the tarrance is ok, but the whole area looks rather depresing due to lots of poorly treated animals, unfinished constructions, chaotic design and garbage. But that is esentially Egypt.

Location is very accessible, staff are friendly, price is reasonable, very near to Egyptian museum and souvenir shops, just beside KFC and some restaurants. There is also money changer nearby. Breakfast is good 👍 The tours in the hotel are cheaper than online booking. There is heater in the shower and my room is quiet at night. I will come back to this hotel if I am visiting Egypt again. 👍

Sara is an amazing and welcoming host. She is a thoughtful and caring host who ensured we had a best time in Cairo during our stay. She even went an extra mile to pick my partner from the airport at 3 am. We had a room with pyramids view and the sunset truly was a cherry on the cake. The highlight of the hotel was the breakfast which was tailor made egyptian style!

Absolute gem in terms of monetary value and comfort. So far it’s the best hotel in Egypt we stayed in ( it’s been more than 2 weeks of travelling across the country and a lot of hotels ranging 3-5 stars). It’s new , very well designed and staff makes its wonderful because humans are humans and we always seek for great and friendly communications during the travel.
