I had a great experience but the intense hassling of the hawkers outside in Luxor city was insane and sometimes intimidating, taxi, boat ,calleshe drivers, or just individuals who would try there arm to twist any cash of you, even children, bad news for Luxor and its tourism.

Absolutely beautiful and a top bucket list place to visit, but tourists must know and expect that there are many aggressive and relentless street venders that are unable to accept no. The street venders are very pushy and annoying; otherwise the locals are extremely kind, friendly and helpful.

Valley of the Kings: Known for its richly decorated tombs of...
Valley of the Kings: Known for its richly decorated tombs of pharaohs, this site is famous for the tomb of Tutankhamun. The intricate paintings and hieroglyphics reveal much about Egyptian beliefs on the afterlife.
Karnak Temple Complex: The largest religious building ever constructed, Karnak features colossal pillars, statues, and sacred lakes, allowing visitors to step back into Egypt’s religious and political history.
Luxor Temple: A magnificent monument to Egyptian kingship, this temple is especially magical at night, when it is illuminated and adds a mystical aura to the surroundings.
Nile River Cruises: Luxor is a key stop for Nile cruises. This offers a unique way to enjoy the river’s serene beauty while visiting sites along its banks.
Cultural Experiences: The Luxor Museum provides a curated look at artifacts, statues, and artworks from nearby excavation sites. Local markets also offer authentic Egyptian souvenirs, from alabaster figurines to traditional jewelry.
Pros:
Rich in ancient history with well-preserved monuments.
Excellent for photography and immersive cultural experiences.
Guided tours provide valuable insights into ancient Egyptian life and mythology.
Cons:
High temperatures, especially in summer, can be challenging.
Some sites may have long queues and crowded sections.
Vendors near tourist spots can be persistent, which may detract from the experience.
Verdict: Luxor is an unforgettable destination for those interested in history and ancient architecture. The blend of awe-inspiring ruins and cultural depth makes it a remarkable, albeit potentially overwhelming, adventure. The best experience can be had by visiting during cooler months and with a knowledgeable guide to fully appreciate the grandeur of this ancient city.

Luxor is a difficult mix to evaluate.
Luxor is a difficult mix to evaluate. On the one hand, it has incredible places with all the history and importance it deserves. On the other hand, the treatment of animals was what struck me the most, the state of the horses in the carriages was a discouragement to take this activity, the treatment of the locals to the tourists is not easy - the prices could be inflated between 4 and more times, additional and senseless costs come up all the time. It is a shame, because it is a place that would be worth returning to but the experience is so difficult that it becomes a destination to visit only once.

Establishment very well located, between the corniche and the souks, Infront of the temple of Luxor. Very friendly staff and General manager very attentive to customer satisfaction. The hotel can organize a tour and can arrange a la carte trips with Egyptian speaking guide. Very good breakfast on the open terrace facing the Nile and Luxor temple. Fun scene with bath towels in room.
The staff were absolutely amazing. We’ve been in Egypt for 3 weeks. Travelled to Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada. We’ve stayed in all 5 star hotels. This has to be the best experience we’ve had in a 5 star hotel. The staff went out of the way to celebrate my daughters birthday who turned 4 with cake and music. I would definitely recommend if you visit Luxor.
Everything was awesome. Staff are very kind and helpful, they made reservations for the tours with very good prices and make you feel like at home. The hotel is clean and the room is good! The localization is perfect, you can go walking to Luxor and Karnak and is also beside the market. Breakfast is very good too. The best place we've stayed in Egypt!!!
Great experience to stay in an Egyptian hotel overlooking the Nile and Luxor temple from the rooftop restaurant while having the buffet breakfast There's also a street level eatery that leads into the large bazaar. Lots of dining options a short walk away. WiFi was fine. Magic Carpet Travel provided an excellent personalised tour for us.
Our stay in the Old Nile Hotel was really great. It's a nice and quiet place and Mostafa the owner is the most welcoming host. He can give you great advice on Luxor and surroundings or even book excursions for you if you want.
Also we had the most delicious egyptian food in all our trip !
