There is SO much to see and do in Luxor. We spent about a month and I would happily have stayed longer. But we have full-time work... for a tourist 1-2 weeks would probably feel like enough. Now in covid times, Egypt is flexible and safe and a great option. Many hotels and excursions are a much lower price than normal. We paid 50 USD pp for a 50-minute balloon ride over Luxor for example. Highly Recommended! Also, Luxor has some really nice restaurants (my favorite: Sofra), places selling fresh fruit and freshly roasted and ground coffee, pastry shops and plenty of other shops and one half-decent mini-supermarket.
Luxor and the surrounding attractions are amazing. So much history and things to see. The only drawback is the taxi and horse carriages. As soon as you walk out if the hotel they are constantly asking you for a ride or acting like they know you. It gets exhausting after 10 minutes.
Due to the Covid-19, the city of Luxor, as many other places around the world, has been greatly affected. The impact is huge on the tourism industry. It is sad to see the famous temples not busy at all, but it gave a good opportunity to enjoy all these places. Although I have been to Luxor many times before, it was the first time to experience going into the tomb of Nefertari at the Valley of the Queens. No words can describe the beauty and colours of the paintings inside.
Very quiet city Amazing nile views and mountains with green countryside inbetween People are very friendly, helpful and smiley No city in the world has many temples and monuments , you'd get lost in history
For a real immersion into Egyptian history one must visit Luxor . There are so many sites on both sides of the Nile. There are always new finds being made so be sure to read up a little at least before you arrive. Be sure to connect with locals who are more than willing to share information and do not become annoyed with the requests for tips. Some people overlook the Valley of the Nobles. Do not, as it will give you a view into everyday life. Whatever side you stay on take the local ferry to the other side for a nice Nile ride. Be sure to view Luxor temple at night-lovely.
A very special place with so much to see and do. The sense of history can be a bit overwhelming but is magnificent. You really need an informed guide to take you. I have been several times and each time I go, I find something new. There is nothing like sailing down the Nile in a feluccha. PLease go to the temple of Dendara, outside Luxor. It's hardly mentioned in the tourist literature, but well worth a visit and not as crowded.
West Bank, Luxor
Since there are no words to describe how wonderful Luxor Palace is, the only thing that I would like to say is: If you are not staying here in Luxor, you are missing the best place to stay in this lovely city. Luxor Palace is an amazing building with a beautiful rooftop where you can enjoy the morning sun and the shining colors of the sunset. Each room is different and they are clean, spacious and colored. The staff is friendly, polite, kind and simply amazing! You can feel at home. Momo, Hussain, Baadwy, Susanna, Hassan... you are the best. See you next time! ❤️

A unique place in Luxor! Chilly and cosy camp with nice little cottage rooms in a small garden with palm trees. Though only a two minutes ferry ride away (5 EGP) from the east bank, you are totally away from the city’s crazyness in this wonderful calm and relaxing place. Ahmed has a wonderful sense of humour and is extremely nice and helpful. Very nice breakfast and dinner and super cosy evenings by the fireplace.
The property is absolutely beautiful and in a great residential neighborhood with lots of friendly kids and families. The staff was wonderful and bent over backwards to be accommodating. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed breakfast outside. The breakfast was excellent. This was an outstanding value for the money. Highly recommended.
This is a beautiful property on the west bank of the Nile so it's lovely and quiet. The bungalows are beautifully decorated and each has their own private garden to relax in. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The food is good. I would really recommend Al Baeirat to anyone who wants a relaxing place to stay in Luxor.
It was probably the best breakfast I had in a hotel ever. Ask for the Egyptian breakfast, and you will be amazed by the amount of great food that comes your way. As an aside, some of the best falafels ever! Sunday nights are great for thai food at the sister hotel Gezira garden (also very nice). All in all, amazing :)
Amenities in the hotel. Everything needed is there. Near to public transportation and taxis. Everything outside the hotel door direct. In the town itself not in the middle of nowhere like many other places I stayed at before especially on West Bank.
The friendly staff it was very nice, they really help you in whatever you need. The place is awesome to be in the center. Big room with terrace. Nice roof with views. I would come back. Thank you guys!
Really enjoyed staying there with my family, the owners were super nice and also staff very kind. We loved our relaxed meals by the pool and with a bucolic view of the Nile river and its west bank.
