River is nice, taking a boat and relaxing is a nice way to spend time in Luxor. Also, the prices for hotel are reasonable and are good value. Also the prices for different activities, such as horse/camel riding are much lower than in Cairo.
Luxor is the heart of old Egypt with Luxor and Karnak temples and the Valley of the Kings. Luxor Temple was almost complete and a real pleasure. Karnak was more spread out and more in ruins but you need to go to both though would recommend Luxor first. I didn’t have time to do the Valley of the Kings as I was enjoying my stay at Al Moudira too much. I should have stayed another night to do everything and would look forward to returning.
Full of history and modern day experiences, markets for locals and tourists alike, Temples full of past glories, modern day shops interspersed with spice shops and local Egyptian coffee houses. An incredible mixture of culture and History at every turn, and of course situated on the Banks of the River Nile. A short journey away the Valley of the Kings.
Surrounded by amazing history that provides the best of both worlds. Whether you or on the East Bank or the West Bank you will have an amazing time. The people are warm and there is plenty of great food. Be sure to take a local boat to drop you from one Bank to the other. An amazing experience.
Magical place. Being on the west bank was perfect. So close to the attractions. We went early to see the sights, avoiding the heat and crowds. April was a great time to go. Valley of the Queens was one of our favourites, especially Nefetari's tomb. It was well worth the extra money. So too was the balloon flight after we had been to Hatshepset's Temple and Valley of the Kings. It gave us an appreciation of where we were. One of the best things I've ever done. Medinet Habu was well worth it too! Stunning!
The most disgusting place we went to. Everywhere you face Crooks, liars, bad, scary, robbers, harassers, primitives, wicked people which you can not trust them. The place itself is dull, dirty, flies are everywhere, there is no normal place to eat clean food, stink in every corner. We got there to see the historic sites, but out of disgust we could not enjoy anything.
The hotel is right next to Luxor temple, just a 10-minute walk from the train station. It is a typical 3-star Egyptian hotel, partly reconstructed. The room was nice and clean, we had a view of Luxor temple from our small balcony. There is a great terrace on the top of the building where you can enjoy sunset over the Nile River. The breakfast on the top floor was ok and the staff very helpful. Waeel, the receptionist, arranged breakfast for 6am as we wanted and let us leave our luggage at the reception for the whole day when we checked out.
West Bank, Luxor
In all my years traveling I’ve never come across such an awesome host! Without our stay in this property, our trip would definitely not have been the same. In fact, we extended our stay just so we could spend more time with the host and his staff. From the food, to the cleanness, to the awesome service the staff provided, you name it! They made us feel like royalty. I highly recommend this place. Not only has an amazing price, but it will surely make your visit in Egypt unforgettable!! AND WE WILL BE BACK!!!
West Bank, Luxor
It has been an authentic stay at the Bella Vista hotel. I won't forget the hospitality and welcomeness towards me. Mustafa is a unique personality which knows everything about the area and helps wherever he can. You can hang around with him and his family and friends and make fire plus drink tea. It's a authentic egyptian experience. One also has to bear that plans and appointments can be postponed and delayed. The food is delicious as well, I highly recommend eating there. The rooms are enormous.
This is a fabulous place to stay in an excellent location. It has a lovely garden and the terrace is beautiful. The staff are so helpful and Sherif is very knowledgeable about the area and can build an itinerary to fit your time. The staff organised everything so we could see all the things we wanted to in our too short visit. The food is also excellent the best I've had in Egypt. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. If I go back to Luxor I will definitely stay here again.
Excellent location with beautiful Nile views (if you book a room with that option). Fairly good breakfast buffet, groundfloor restaurant is alright as well. Walking distance to Luxor Museum, Luxor Temple and also a lovely 30 mins walk along the Nile to Karnak.Poor choice of restaurant around hotel, it's quite a recurrent problem in Egypt 》 hard to find ok places to eat when you are not part of a Group/Cruise trip. But I loved bazaar/souk falafel little stands anyway :)
West Bank, Luxor
We had a lovely stay at Luxor Castle. The view over the river is absolutely fantastic, and the hospitality was the best of our stay in Egypt. Our host, Sabry, was exceptionally helpful and even arranged to deliver an item we left in our room to our next destination. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. On New Year's Eve we had a fun dinner on the rooftop with great cooking. Thoroughly recommend!
Lovely family run hotel on West Bank overlooking Nile, good room with balcony and Nile view, excellent restaurant on roof terrace with great value Egyptian style food, staff exceptionally friendly and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay, excursions arranged through hotel excellent value and standard, nothing was too much trouble I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Luxor anytime
they had the best selection of food for the breakfast buffet, on top of this the egyptian food they had on offer was the best we tried in the country. location is great. walking distance to the centre of luxor. taxis waiting outside hotel if guests would rather use these. half the rooms and the pool area looks out onto the nile, couldn't ask for a better view. staff all very friendly and helpful.
West Bank, Luxor
This was our first time in Egypt. It was the best possible experience thanks to our wonderfull host Sayed. He was so kind to show us everything we needed to see in Luxor, giving us great advice for staying in Egypt and telling great local stories. The apartments are clean and spacious and rooftop is amazing, with a beautiful view and oriental design. Full experience 10/10
Amazing traditional Egypten hotel with verry familiar atmosphere. The staff was allways helpful and the room where verry spacious. The room was clean and there's everything you needed during our stay in europe. The location is on the other side from the river of Luxor. It's verry easy to across the river by the ferry to go to Luxor.
East Bank, Luxor
Ideal central location for Luxor, railway station just up the road, views over Luxor temple, souk just at the back of the hotel, ATM at the front. But it is the staff who really make this place. Nothing and I mean NOTHING is too much trouble, very friendly and happy for you to have as an original Egyptian experience as possible
West Bank, Luxor
Mamoud‘s apartments are all very spacious with new furniture, typical Egyptian bathrooms, some with bathtubs, large sunny balconies overlooking the Nile with a green field in front, a rooftop terrace with a kitchen and Mamoud is a very charming host. It’s our second time here , believe me it’s the Best in Egypt for the price.
I loved the view from the room. Watching the sun set over the Nile from the little balcony of the room was one of my favourite things on the trip to Egypt. Staff was very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is good, it was about a 20-25 minute walk to Luxor temple. Room was a very good size and had everything.
West Bank, Luxor
Fathy, and everyone that worked here was so nice. They help us book a guided tour around Luxor with an incredible guide. If you're looking for an authentic Upper Egypt experience Modos place is a great place to stay, with great food and friendly/helpful staff that gave my wife and I the best Luxor experience.
West Bank, Luxor
This is a wonderful place to stay on the Nile River. The location is perfect, the view is spectacular, the staff are welcoming, friendly, happy, and helpful, and the owner Ahmed is an Egyptologist who has a wealth of knowledge and passion for ancient Egypt and provides amazing tours at a very reasonable price.
Lovely, clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with both European and Egyptian dishes. Great location and easy to get to some of the main sights in Luxor.
Beautiful Hotel. Wonderful service. Incredible communication. The perfect stay for our travels in Luxor and to close out a long trip of exploration throughout my Egypt.
East Bank, Luxor
Location. Staff. Variety of food. Good ambience. In overall this is as best as it gets in Egypt. Definitely would recommend this place if you’re passing by Luxor.
Best place for relaxation in Egypt, specially garden and Old Palace itself.
The owner is pretty attentive, and concerned about his customers
