This was one of if not the best hotel experience I have had. The quality of every feature of the hotel is top of the range. It was one of the most comfortable beds I have had in a hotel and the bedding is high quality. The management are extremely helpful and do a great job at accommodating your needs and are perfectly generous and patient, I want to especially thank Tony and Wahid for all their help. Many families visiting Luxor loved staying at El Gezira Hotel, New Memnon Hotel, and Djorff Palace.
Loved going to the Valley of the Artists and the Valley of the Nobles, not often visited, and quiet and most amazing art work in the tombs depicting life in Egypt. Loved the balloon ride too. Totally recommend. Do not come to Egypt and miss Luxor.
I think Luxor has so much to offer. Incredible history. It is a small city, nothing like Cairo. Beware of the heat, even on November near December temperature can be very high. Over all the experience was great. My recommendations, bring a hut, water, walking shoes and spare cash, as all locations in Egypt, you have to tip.
Amazing places: Valley of the Kings, Medinet Habu, Karnak and Luxor Temple Recommend to walk the Avenue of the sphinx Best price in Egypt Great location by the river Friendly and kind people helping a lot Would love to explore the museums here next time
Unusually we stayed in Luxor for 7 days 6 nights. Just the right amount of time to see almost everything of note in Luxor at a leisurely pace rather than being frogmarched around on tours at a frenetic pace in the searing mid-day heat. Luxor has so many World Heritage monuments and sites that you need time to absorb all the information. Our professional guides including Nurmi were well informed and respectful that we may struggle in the heat of Luxor and with the shear volume of information. Luxor is truly awesome.
Luxor is the perfect Egypt experience. Cairo was too big, sprawling and difficult to get around without much to see besids Giza. Aswan was too small with not enough to see for more than 1 day. Luxor is just right. The city is walkable to all sites with ferry access to west bank valley tombs and walking to east bank temple sites. Nile experiences and suk markets this towm has everything in a comfortable atmosphere. Jamboree restaurant upstairs in the suk was fab! They had posted prices so you knew what to expect for a bill "no hassle" and it was a quiet spot to look out over the market and relax from the hustle and bustle below for a while.
Seeing the east side temples at night was gorgeous I ate at sunflower restaurant. Which was ok. Thought they were serving alcohol but turns out not. It's not easy to get around because Uber is not working in Luxor. Tuktuks costs less than car taxis. China wares sellers everywhere!! It's frustrating
West Bank, Luxor
Luxor Palace was our favorite stay during our trip. We loved being close to fields and farm animals rather than the noise and commotion of the East Bank. It's a short walk and quick boat ride from the heart of the East Bank. The view from the rooftop was amazing - the Nile in one direction and the West Bank sites (like Hapshetsut's Temple) in the other. The breakfasts were always fresh and were the best we had in Egypt. The staff were very attentive to our needs and helped arrange our travel to and from the hotel.
They have the most beautiful big garden. You will not find anything comparable in Egypt. This was especially great, since the city itself is not that nice to walk through. The hotel is also directly next to the Luxor temple the Nile and close to the train station. We liked to use the back entrance to get away from the taxi drivers next to the Nile. The breakfast is very good with lots of options. The staff was very helpful with all kinds of questions we had. Overall it was a very nice stay and we would come back anytime.
East Bank, Luxor
Centrally located within the tourist market. Possibly the best shower I’ve had in Egypt. Which is al one needs after a 12 hour train ride! The staff were always available. The rooftop Resto/Cafe is not only convenient but it holds a range of delicious Egyptian food. As it’s centrally located it can get loud if you’re an early sleeper, but by 10pm the streets are quiet. Manager/Owner was very keen and attentive to improving his hotel. Thanks for having us Nefertiti! Wishing you a a very fruitful year
The staff were very welcoming and reactive and helped me with many things. the driver for the Hotel Hassan really made my trip great, he helped me find guides gave me recommendations to local places to eat and made me feel welcome in Egypt, I would really recommend the hotel showcase his services because honestly there not a lot of tourism operators in Luxor unless you come on a tour so to meet someone to assist with finding great guides and facilitating transport and giving advice was.
West Bank, Luxor
My stay here was excellent and I feel comfortable and safe at that house. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the showers were nice and warm. The breakfasts and meals were delicious. The location was very close to the Nile river. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great house to stay at in Luxor West Bank with a great value. Thank you Happy, for great hospitality. I will come stay here again if I come back to Egypt.
East Bank, Luxor
- staff was wonderful and accommodating. We felt very welcome and taken care of - Location is very quiet and beautiful right on the Nile - The Egyptian food served in the main restaurant is very good. Falafel, baba ghanoush, tahini, ancient Egyptian flat bread (Aish Baladi), soft cheese and ful medames were delicious! - It’s easy to take a taxi into the city. Drivers are always waiting and it’s 70 EGP. Alternatively, the hotel has a shuttle that goes at 5pm.
Very good location. In the center. Close to train station, embankment and Luxor Templ. Exelent value for money. Great attitude, I have never met this. The manager of the hotel, Hasan, takes care of the guests as if they were the closest people. Helps to resolve any issues in the best possible way. I have traveled a lot and have never met such an attitude towards guests. For Egypt, this is generally a great rarity.
East Bank, Luxor
Best hotel in all of Egypt. Bed was comfy, no traffic noise, breakfast was the best we have had, restaurant was best by Luxor's hotels standards, staff were extraordinarily helpful - they have very good prices for every thing, in the middle area near to the airport and train station, luxor temple and karnak and ferry boat, also local transportation Thank you for fresh welcome drink and fruit basket
Gorgeous rooms in Egyptian style, super tasty and fresh food every day with local products from the market. Beautiful hotel on the banks of the Nile with a boat that transfers you anytime to the other side. One of the best hotels we ever stayed in. Our host Marina took care of everything! If you plan a visit to Luxor, don’t look further for a hotel, Djorff Palace is your best option!
Peaceful setting on the West Bank of Luxor. Rooms are large and well furnished with comfortable beds, fine bedding, desk, and a sitting area. The hotel is decorated with interesting Egyptian antiques and the outside garden was a wonderful place to relax and eat our meals which were delicious. Most of all, we enjoyed the hospitality and kindness of Abdu and his family. We’ll be back!
This is the best hotel in all of Egypt. The amenities are great: tasty restaurant, beautiful views, very clean, & nice pool. The staff are what make this hotel what it is, it is a family ran business and from the second you arrive you will feel like part of the family. Also has great WiFi if you need to WFH or anything I was able to take zoom calls etc no problem.
Mustafa was so helpful during our stay he helped us with transport, was our own tour guide and drove us to the airport at 5am. Breakfast was exceptional! Lots of food and it was delicious, a real traditional Egyptian breakfast. It was also super quiet at the property. A great place to base yourself if your are exploring Luxor.
I asked for gluten free food and I had gluten free food all the time, breakfast, lunch and dinner! The staff really took care of me. Also we had a tour guide with us for all the 3 days so we visited Philae temple, kombo ombo, edfu and Luxor (temples and kings valley). On the tv there was also a BBC documentary about egypt.
This hotel located on the Nile was absolutely amazing!!! The rooms, amenities, restaurants and hotel staff were excellent! Manager, Mustafa and Muhammed from the lounge went above and beyond to make my Birthday trip a memorable one!!!! I will definitely stay here during my next visit to Egypt!
East Bank, Luxor
I was made a trip to Egypt and I booked the Grand Hotel 🏨 the manager was very friendly and helpfull also the stuff very nice, its a very clean hotel 🏨, quite area, near to the train station and bus station, not far from histrorical temples, I would book this hotel 🏨 anytime again.
The Staff so helpful the day shift manger was excellent and the night shift was super great his name wad Bisho wow he picked me the best room and they were all great to reflect EGYPTIAN Hospitality. I love this hotel and I will always stay in it when I come back
Very nice room with view on the Nile. Modern, comfortable and with very nice and clean bathroom (the best I had in my 10 days in Egypt!). The swimming pool and swing on the Nile are great! Very quiet location, far from the noisy central streets of Luxor.
