Where do I start, when you receive a WhatsApp message from Donia welcoming us to the Pyramisa even before we arrived was wonderful. Then when arrived, Donia was at reception to welcome us, every receptionist was so friendly to the family and very helpful. Haggag in the breakfast restaurant welcomed us the mornings we had breakfast with a friendly smile. Mostafa at the pool watched every day over my son's and family while enjoying the pool area. The rooms was neat, clean and smelt fresh everyday. The pool area and garden fantastic. The feluca boat man offered me a cup of real Egyptian tea, while sitting on his boat for free. This is how friendly the people of luxor was. If anyone reading this review don't hesitate to consider Pyramisa Hotel in Luxor. Lovely history, beautiful views of Nile. Friendly people. Sadly the tourist is hassled for a sale - haggling is part of it but it becomes tiresome. If we were left alone we probably would of spent more money. Lovely food, yummy smoothies. Enjoyed Luxor and would recommend
If you are interested in history and archeology, this is the place. Beautiful. However be prepared to deal with Harassment. As soon as you put your feet out of the hotel any kind of service starts being insisted offered you. Souvenirs, taxis, horses. And you need to deal everything price.
Luxor City is so beautiful. Lots to do and see on the west bank and east Bank. Getting a faluca or motor boat and sailing down tlor up the river Nile is a must. The feluca is the best to use. The only annoyance was the calesch and taxi drivers. We has a family loved our stay at the pyramisa hotel. Ask for donia
Luxor is an amazing city very rich in Pharaohs' antiquities. You need 3 days to see all. I loved the stay. On all sites people will try to sell you thing but always with a smile. It did not bother me. Visit Valley of the knings Valley of the Queen's Valley of the Nobles. Valley of the workers. Karnak Ramses II and III temples Hatshepsut temple Nefertari Tomb. Add to that the Hot baloon trip and you are all set. Great City.
Luxor is one of my favourite places in Egypt! So much ancient places in one area, a lot to see and experience for a person whose hobby is ancient history of Egypt. And you get a lot of sun and hotness in Luxor, especially in summertime! So take a good hotel in where you can rest and relax and enjoy of the views to Nile. Also in a good hotel food is safe and clean so no need to worry about stomach -things, although dont miss the local groceryshops, you can find treasures from those places (with common sense in head ;) ). Getting around is easy with taxis, but please be aware of how the prices are sometimes what ever and if you are staying in a good hotel, the drivers think that you have a lot of money etc so that is not necessarely a good idea to tell them where you stay. Pay everything in cash, dont use cards when you are going around in local area away from hotel. In hotels its safe, but in otherwhere it isnt. Will be back in Luxor again at some point, trip to Abydos is on mind, now in this time didnt take any trips in there because didnt really find a reliable and 100%certain trip -organiser. Didnt have a chance to get trips from this good hotel in where I was staying this time. For a woman who travels in Egypt alone, safetythings need to be 100% sure.
Valley of Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Luxor and Karnak Museums are a must see. Do not miss the excellent view from the rooftop restaurant of Nefertiti Hotel. An evening walk on the Nile promenade is recommended to soak the local culture.
West Bank, Luxor
This was by far our favorite hotel in Egypt. Our room was big, super clean and had a balcony with a view of the Nile. The ferry is only a 1 minute walk away. Being on the West Bank we were able to ride bikes (that Mando helped us rent) to many of the surrounding sites (like Valley of the Kings). The breakfast was great and filling every morning and we got to eat it on the rooftop overlooking the Nile. Highly recommend this hotel - great location, great staff, fast Wi-Fi and fantastic rooms and food.
West Bank, Luxor
My stay here was excellent and I feel comfortable and safe at that house. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the showers were nice and warm. The breakfasts and meals were delicious. The location was very close to the Nile river. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will come stay here again if I come back to Egypt.
This hotel is a pearl of Egypt. Our family enjoyed every moment there. Gorgeous interrior, comfortable beds, antiques (my passion) are everywhere, delicious breakfast, restaurant 1886 is marvelous, we also enjoyed the Royal Bar with live piano accompaniment, beautiful garden and swimming pool area. I even cancelled a trip to Aswan to spend the whole day in the hotel, exploring and reading. Our compliments to the staff - you are keeping the spirit of this palace.
Lovely family run hotel on West Bank overlooking Nile, good room with balcony and Nile view, excellent restaurant on roof terrace with great value Egyptian style food, staff exceptionally friendly and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay, excursions arranged through hotel excellent value and standard, nothing was too much trouble I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Luxor anytime
