As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths. There is a beautiful promenade on the shore with stalls selling local products. You can rent a colorful boat to ride on the lake, or take a train for a half-hour ride around the city. There is always something going on on the promenade too. Balatonfured is a beautiful place on Lake Balaton.
Balatonfured is a beautiful place on Lake Balaton. The old town area was very impressive. Lots of big old villas and houses. with huge old shady trees. The port area was nice for strolling , lots of shops and restaurants, ferries departing to other parts of the lake. The strand stroll was wonderful , very scenic looking at the lake , lots of areas to sit , bike and walking paths. Lovely town with lots of flowers and trees, very clean, tidy and safe even in the evening. Not loud even in the evening was very quiet near the beach. Preferred Kisfaludy beach (strand). Nice place, you have a lot of restaurants, hotels on all levels starting from street food up until fine dining and top hotels next to the lake. Also shopping is quite fine and you have a great set of activities as well you can do. Hiking and other activities are also possible. Old dirty room carpet corners not vacuumed Bathroom dark no shampoo No toiletries! Towels were not change /stayed 2 days/! No free drinking water no coffee or tea available to make in the room! There is a dedicated parking space in the street. From the property it is easy to reach many tourist attractions in the area, but you need a car. The house was well equipped with modern amenities. The kitchen is a bit all over the place, but good enough to make a simple breakfast and sandwiches/snacks. The bathroom is modern, with a big shower, and the water stays hot. The room was of a good size with a comfortable bed and decent sized bathroom. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection of various foods to choose. The spa is also well equipped with a nice sized indoor pool, and another unheated outside pool. There is also a good sized underground car park.
