Absolutely wonderful experience at this very accommodating guesthouse. You can tell how much effort the owners have put into making it comfortable and welcoming. There’s one full bath with a shower and another half bath, which is very handy if the shower is in use. The rooms are lovely, the beds comfortable, the linens clean and cozy, with extra pillows and towels provided. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked, yes, there’s now a colander for those who were wondering, plus plates, cups, and cookware. Guests need to bring their own food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc.), but there’s coffee, cooking oil, and a nice selection of spices left by the hosts and previous guests. Everything is impeccably clean, decorated in soft, muted tones that make the space feel peaceful. Despite the rain during my stay, I still enjoyed the hot springs right across the street, and even joined the locals for a swim in the ocean—they treated it like a sunny summer day! There’s a clothesline out back, though I wouldn’t recommend using it in wet weather unless you want your clothes wetter than when you hung them up. The host has a great sense of humor and is wonderfully welcoming. The location is fantastic—about 12 minutes from the ferry dock, not far from the Red Sand Beach, and of course, steps away from the hot springs. Overall, a fantastic space and perfect base for exploring the area.

Amazing views, gorgeous surrounding, very sweet little home. The host was very nice and very helpful. She helped us find the address when we were lost a little bit very late in the evening. She provided us with extra blanket as we asked and was very generous. The kitchen was extremely small, barely fit one person in the kitchen area. As it's described before the amount of warm water is very small, be aware. Between taking shower and doing the dishes we ran out of water after two people took a shower. It's not a big deal because you can always take a shower the next day. Overall we had a good stay and beautiful night walk around the area. It's like walking in a postcard. Thank you Miss Maria

Plenty of space to spread out in the living area. Having a kitchen area and private bathroom were also very helpful for us. The surrounding area is peaceful, makes you feel off the beaten path.

Clean, spacious and comfortable room. The kitchen was well equipped. We could enjoy beautiful ocean views from a comfy living area. We had been staying in smaller facilities but Rauðsdalur was pretty big. Many families/couples were staying. It has multiple shower rooms and we did not have to wait.
