Some wonderful views. It's a safe area. Some of the prices are very low and the food is excellent. Two days is enough in Kochi, one day enough in Athirapilly, three days Munnar, three days Kumily. We finished off with seven days in Alleppy which was a day too long. Research on accomodation essential. Don't be frightened of homestays or eating out but be careful and wash your hands properly and often especially after handling food. The kitchen and the rest of the place were also dirty, there was no bed cover and the existing cover was also dirty. The guys were helpful, nice and cheap about tours but a bit chaotic. I definitely wouldn't come back. There is also a lot of garbage outside that attracts animals, empty beer bottles and the like in front of the Windows.
