I have nothing negative to say about Bar Harbor Its Beautiful rustic village feels like you have gone back in time a bit. From the Trolleys, boats and schooners, to the food and shops you have a lot to see and do. Don't forget Arcadia Park a must to see. Anything Blueberry is great. Free busses to different parts of area and different harbors, depending on when you go determines what events will be in the commons or the 4th of July parade on Main Street. If you like the ocean and coastline of Maine your in the perfect spot.Guest review byBrenda - 8.0
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful.
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful. There were many shops and a few restaurants. The marina was lovely. Bar Harbor and Acadia were just minutes away. I would stay in Northeast Harbor again.Guest review byMichelleUnited States - 10.0

This is a wonderful launching pad for beautiful nearby towns such as Blue Hill, Deer Island, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor, and, of course, Acadia National Park where one can view the entire seacoast from beautiful Cadillac Mountain.Guest review byKristinUnited States - 10.0
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property.
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property. Is it a beautifully constructed and secluded cabin mirroring the owner’s memory of her childhood home on the West Coast of Ireland. Imaginatively furnished, it is the best equipped rental in which I have ever stayed. Far from the hustle and bustle but close to all of the major attractions: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, the Schoodic National Scenic Byway, Frenchman’s Bay and so much more.Guest review byDonaldUnited States - 10.0

Bass Harbor is a wonderful place to stay and experience all the surrounding area has to offer. We biked, kayaked, and hiked during the week. Bar Harbor is an easy drive and a great place to get a book, eat out, and shop.Guest review byDebUnited States - 10.0

Only had 2 nights and feel like I missed so much. The Arcadia park bus tour was great, but the ghost tour was very disappointing. I will return and drive the park myself, do some of the cruises, and try out the other ghost tour. May come back in the Fall.Guest review byKARENUnited States - 8.0

Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor.
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor. It is very walkable, with several restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The city dock is open to the public, and you can get some good pictures of the harbor from the dock. I took my wife to the Red Sky restaurant for her birthday. It was very good.Guest review byRandalUnited States - 10.0
A great location for nature lovers.
A great location for nature lovers. Acadia National Park is spectacular, offering trails for hikers of all abilities. It is pristine and well maintained. The view from the top of Cadillac Mountain is definately worth seeing. You may drive (reservation required) or hike up to the peak. Spending several hours in this park left me feeling peaceful and content. The village in town offers plenty of shopping, restaurants, ice cream shops, and bars. Other available activities include kayaking, cycling, whale watching, schooner sailing trips, and walking along well maintained shore paths. There are several lovely parks where you can relax and rest, people watch, and maybe listen to music. This is a delightfu place to visit. We spent two nights in Bar Harbor. One more night would have been perfect. However, if you are a hiking enthusiast, you could spend more time exploring Acadia Park.Guest review byAnneUnited States - 8.0

Beautiful area with easy access to the park, carriage roads and hiking trails. 20 mins to Bar Harbor, 20 mins to SW Harbor and Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Sweet little village, walking distance from hotel, with groceries, eateries and shops.Guest review byLindaUnited States
