Clean and safe area! Very good if you are looking for sun and swimming, without partylife. Good food and a trip to Dubrovnik old town in middle of the week, makes a one week trip enjoyable and resting! Good and safe beaches for families with both smaller, as well as bigger kids. Bathing shoes highly recommended due to stones in the sand beach and, in some places, sea urchins. Recommending restaurant Kabalero in beginning of ”center”. Cavtat is lovely, a lively town but small enough to feel friendly. The annual carnival was on for our visit ( beginning of July) so there were parades and dancing, the whole town was out and about! Very picturesque coastal town with huge forests and plenty of accommodation at its outskirts. Beautiful local architecture and a well preserved old centre. Many restaurants were tourist- oriented and expensive but good service and professional and most dishes were delicious. There is no free parking in the port area so it is advisable to park a little outside the old city centre where there may be some hidden parking spaces perhaps. Ideal for long walks and visiting forested areas next to the sea, swimming and just relaxing. The shell museum is unique and informative. Visit it without hesitation! The easiest possible transfer from airport to town as it is...
The easiest possible transfer from airport to town as it is literally 10 minutes drive. The town is on the direct flightpath to the airport so there are 10-15 planes a day to watch going over you but that together with super yacht watching is part of the charm. The town itself is very easy to navigate being 1 Main Street along side the harbour, there are numerous restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets, everything from fresh poke bowls to local caught fish and regional dishes. We took the 7 am bus to Dubrovnik to be able to walk the walls at 8 am before it got too hot, then back by one of the regular ferries and in our pool again before noon. It would be an excellent base for exploration but we just became incredibly lazy and relaxed, swimming in the warm clear sea and walking into town each evening for dinner.Guest review byMatthewUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Hidden gem in a beatiful bay a short distance from Dubrovnik. Buit probably by the communist regime it's a little outdated more focused on functionality than estetics. The apartment is small, but is well equipped. Cavtat is just beautiful and if you want to go exploring for beaches with less tourists try north of Cavtat centre.. We recommend Apartments Milanovic. Host is an absolutely adorable lady from UK who has lived in Croatia for many years and she welcomed with open arms. Our space was a little flat with lounge room, bathroom, bedroom and kitchen and balcony. It was nice to have lots of space. Location is a short walk away from the town which is so cute and lively. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable air conditioned rooms. Fabulous sea views and large balcony to enjoy the sunset. Fresh bottled water was left in room every day and there was sunscreen products beside the pool. They were free to use which was a nice touch.
