Barga is quiet, not heaving with tourists, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.it’s a lovely hill top town. We did a couple of their recommended walks…not easy walking. Tourist info office not open Monday through Wednesday, try the travel agency accross the road from The Alpino. Take the bus to Barga from Lucca, as Barga is on a hill and the station is in the valley, a few kilometres away, can’t guarantee taxi either.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom - 2.0

terrible wifi, no mobile signal, outdoor seating just a plastic table with no view, hotel size fridge does not freeze, small shower, dangerous and long access mountain road, far from everywhere, poor equipment, price does not match the quality. The worse holiday ever.Guest review bylenkaCzech Republic - 10.0
Castelnouvo is a beautiful town. It has lots of Bars.
Castelnouvo is a beautiful town. It has lots of Bars. Restaurants. Gelaterias. In the holiday month of August it usually has entertainment. Plus every Thursday morning has a typical Italian Market. It's a perfect base to explore the Garfagniana region of Tuscany. Absolutely love it. A must see town.Guest review byRONUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely perched north Tuscany village, a bit off the beaten track, with very kind locals and stunning countryside. Lively community, pretty churches and a lot of things to do. Mountain biking, kids can play in the nearby river, hiking, exploring ancient villages. And, just half an hour from Lucca and 1,5 hour to the seaside.Guest review byVictorNetherlands - 6.0
Simple location fo get some quiet, views and be on your own.
Simple location fo get some quiet, views and be on your own. The Castle is cool to visit, we had. Nice dinner there and enjoyed the lights at night. We ate at the little restaurant near the tower but on the other side of the square. Very friendly but don’t speak English at all. They are happy to make communication successful though. Getting there and going anywhere from there is a curvy, long drive. Not a place to stay if your plans are to go to the Cinque Terre or other further spots.Guest review bymartinaUnited States - 10.0

Corfino is an amazing village in the wild green of the Garfagnana. It can feel a bit challenging to get there for the first time, if you are not used to narrow Italian serpentines and are driving late in the night, but otherwise the roads in the region are so beautiful and packed with cozy villages and various attractions. In summers there are concerts and festivals. If you drive from Corfino to the sea, the views from the roads are breathtaking.Guest review byZheniyaIsrael - 10.0

The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day. Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.Guest review byIva ItaliaItaly - 10.0

The long drive up the winding mountain road to Scillio is a paltry sum to pay for the treasure that awaits those willing to wander up. The beauty and authenticity of this small hill town is enough to make a grown man openly weep. The care that the residents of this small community have lavished on this meticulously maintained community of stone buildings is evident in every house, alleyway, doorway, garden, window, and terrace. The remarkable condition of the town as a whole allows one to focus on the beauty and elegance of the rustic details when you are not mesmerized by the breathtaking views. Only one restaurant, and very little English spoken. Breakfast was amazing.Guest review byGimUnited States - 10.0

It is a beautiful mountain village with cobble stone streets and a feeling of tranquility, happiness, while enjoying the nature and elegance of the beautiful stone houses. One of the things we also loved was that the people in Coreglia Anteminelli are very friendly and welcoming.Guest review byCeliaUnited States
