- From $275.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 2,155 reviewsWhile not as bougie as the Hayman Island Resort, there is a lot to do at this resort. There are 2 restaurants on the island and the food options include an asian restaurant and a burger and pizza type of place. But vegetarian options available too and a small gift shop in the main lobby. But the key thing is the amazing activities to do on the resort (swimming with stingrays, live reef, sunset beach area behind with a rainforest pathway too to hike, sailing lessons that can be done from the island and scubadiving from island. The island has two sides, one for day trip and one for people staying. Big pools to swim in plus beach side. Great views. Easy to access port to go to reef or white haven tours as well as snorkeling tours or back to mainland to airlie beach or hamilton island. Walaroos are cute as anything on the island and you can feed them apples and bread and rice etc. like they are your pet dog. The cockatoos too. There was also paint and sip and other activities as well. Very family friendly. There is an underwater observatory room(an aquarium of sorts) and morning yoga in that room. there is also a kids section and other such aquariums throughout. It is beautiful paradiseGuest review byEktaUnited States

We didn’t ever had to pick up our bags they took care of that. The service. The tours. The food the view the room. Everything was such good excellent. I loved all the experience. Private beach, the kangaroos (a familiar animal to the them) run free at all the islandGuest review byDanielaMexico

Airlie Beach is a wonderful and very welcoming little town right on the door to The Whitsunday Islands. The shopping and restaurants are great and staff are very friends and helpful. I could live there.Guest review byKristynAustralia - 10.0
The island is beautiful.
The island is beautiful. Great walks, a good supermarket and some good restaurants. We went and played golf on the neighbouring island which was just incredible. It has a lovely vibe on the island, no cars.Guest review byIsobelNetherlands - 10.0

Loved our new accommodation located in Rose Bay and the people and visitors there. Saw whales off shore. Businesses not far away for essentials and takeaway food. The view from the lookout on Flagstaff Hill is amazing and gives a full 360 degree view of Bowen and the surrounding area. It's so easy to navigate Bowen but Google maps makes it so much easier.Guest review byGayeAustralia - 8.0
Small island with limited numbers allowed.
Small island with limited numbers allowed. Good for relaxing few days. Family friendly. Weather was perfect. Restaurant food to a high standard. Buffet dinner not good. Gym needs aircon. Southern end of island not renovated after cyclone. In saying that the other pool areas seemed sufficient.Guest review byMichelleAustralia - 8.0
There are two resorts in the island.
There are two resorts in the island. Palm Bay is the lesser expensive one, Elysian the more up market. Getting there is very easy from Schute Harbour, only 30 minutes. There are a few good hikes on the island.Guest review byMargaret - 8.0

Prossie is a great little town if you’re looking for somewhere away from the busyness of Airlie Beach. The aquatic centre and water park is free and a great way to cool off. An excellent fish n chips takeaway (Fishi’s) on the main road. Two supermarkets and walking along the Main Street you’ll see artwork on the footpath synonymous with the area. Plenty of pubs to wet your whistle but I can’t comment on other food outlets. I’m still discovering the attractions around here.Guest review byDebbieAustralia - 8.0

It was useful to have a Coles store near by, ie within walking distance. The Woolworths precinct was about 3 kms away. too far, for me to carry shopping. There were the usual MacDonalds & KFC nearby. I was happy to attend the Baptist church which shared the premises with other Christian denominations. The bus service to and from Proserpine was punctual and the drivers were prepared to drive passengers to their destinations. I found the local people very friendly & happy to chat as I passed them on my walks.Guest review byTanya CanningtonAustralia - 6.0
The resort is in a stunning location with great facilities.
The resort is in a stunning location with great facilities. Unfortunately the resort was constantly short staffed during our 4 night stay which led to long wait times and waiting around for restaurant and pool services to open. The restaurants are also dealing with shortages of menu items at all restaurants which is a little frustrating as there are already limited options. Staff are lovely but also seem to have limited experience in hospitality unless dealing with the Fijian staff, who were exceptional! Expected a higher level of service for the reputation of the resort.Guest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0

Shute Harbour is quiet, beautiful and has a terminal for trips to the islands and the reefs. It offers no shops or restaurants but by car either your own or ridesharing, or reasonable bus service, one can get to such facilities with little trouble - only 10 km to Airlie Beach, which is of course much noisier and more of a party place.Guest review byAlanSouth Africa - 10.0

Brett at the Visitors Information Centre in a font of knowledge and gave us lots of valuable information. The Coal Face Experience at the worker's club was very interesting and worthwhile. Pit Pony Tavern had great steaks for dinner. The recently refurbished Opal Ridge Motel is a great place to stay. Really enjoyed our short stay in Collinsville! Get out to Burdekin Dam if you can - the road's not that bad.Guest review byDebraAustralia
