I fell in love with Armenia.
I fell in love with Armenia. I spent 6 days in Yerevan, which gave me enough time to explore the city and take a few incredible trips around it. Yerevan — the city of fountains — welcomed me with warmth, history, and beauty at every step. I loved wandering through its streets, visiting Matenadaran, the History Museum, the Cascade, and the Vernisazh market, and enjoying the singing and dancing fountains in the evening. A highlight was attending the opera Anoush at the Opera House — an unforgettable experience. Beyond the city, I was lucky to visit breathtaking places like Lake Sevan, Zvartnots Temple, Echmiadzin (which I absolutely adored), Geghard Monastery, and Garni Temple. I also got to join a lavash baking class — such a fun and tasty experience! The monasteries, the stunning nature, and, of course, the delicious food made every day special. Armenia left me with beautiful memories, and I would absolutely recommend Yerevan to anyone looking for culture, history, nature, and heartwarming hospitality.Guest review byOksanaChina - 2.0

The Bad: The city is way too noisy, seriously high air pollution, very expensive, poor public transportation, for a non-Armenian there isn't much to see beyond restaurants, not enough parks and green spaces, expensive hotels and rental apartments, super expensive restaurants. The Good: Many summer events, great food (but pricey), great balette & opera house, great main square. Most interesting things to see are outside Yerevan, where air is much better and nature is beautiful. Overpriced for What You Get Yerevan feels more like a village than a capital city, but the prices are close to what you’d expect in places like New York. The cost of food, accommodation, and daily expenses just doesn’t match the quality or experience you get in return. Such a lovely city.
Such a lovely city. The centre of town was better than expected. So many choices of amazing cafes and restaurants with tables set outdoors and along walkways, which gives the feeling of being anywhere in Europe. We were lucky our trip coincided with the Yerevan Wine Days event, so we had a fabulous time trying local wines, food and the experiencing a party atmosphere. We'd say the cost to dine out is affordable. We enjoyed walking around the city to see a few of the touristy spots. Other days we took a private tour guide/driver so we got to see other nice churches, gorges, mountains, etc. Highly recommended!Guest review byzoebearMalaysia
