The town of Dobbiaco is great if you're planning on exploring the Dolomites. It may not be as central as Cortina d'Ampezzo, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper. Lot's of beautiful locations are still within about a 40 minute drive. Which is what we did. We didn't explore Dobbiaco itself that much. Only went there for eating out or groceries, usually at the end of the day after a long day of hiking.
The outside parts of the town feels rural, but the center has a lovely old church and reminds you this place has been around for quite some time. Rural or not, it still has plenty of places to eat out or shop for groceries.
One pub was quite nice and had two tables full of local farmers who got together, laughing and sipping wine, probably after a hard day's of work. As a tourist, I'd say there was a lovely relaxed, quiet vibe around town.

Dobbiaco village is nothing special and very touristic but with amazing surrounding. Perfect location for bike rides. If you are looking for a good local beer go to a small beergarten in Villabassa (few km from Dobbiaco).
I recommend a walk to Monte Piazza, amazing view ... .
Rent a bike and wherever you ride (there are countless cycles paths) you'll find wonderful landscapes.

The owners and staff are very friendly !!
It’s a great vacation with family or Romantic
The hotel was easy to find and there is plenty of parking. It is an older building but very well kept up and extremely clean. The staff was a very helpful and check-in was smooth. The queen size bed was very comfortable and there was a wardrobe full extra blankets if needed. The bathroom was good size and great water pressure for the shower. It is in a very quiet area and although near the railroad station I never heard a train. The Wi-Fi was very reliable and breakfast was delicious with a wide selection of food.
Location is strategic, 10 minutes from the city center. Although part of the hotel is not far from the main road, there is not much traffic by night and we slept well. The staff was kind and supportive and even gave us the name of the shop where we could buy a plug adapter (we had an Italian plug that needed three holes, but there were none in the room). Breakfast was basic but friendly for those who like yogurt and muesli (but also chees and speck and cakes were present).
We loved our stay, it exceeded our expectations! The dinner was excellent and superb value for money. It was local, fresh food and really delicious. The breakfast was also excellent which a wide spread of excellent food. The spa was brilliant. Our room was excellent. Excellent location right in centre of Dobbiaco. Everything was perfect. Definitely recommend.
The building is amazing with wonderful surrounding and only 20 min to Cortina or Dobbiaco and 5min to lake Missurina. The apartments are small, the furniture is old but it was very clean, perfectly maintained and equipped with everything for good stay. This apartment will be my first choice in the future when I will travel near Cortina.
A stay in Hotel Hubertushof is a very good choice. The hotel is clean, and has a nice atmosphere. The staff is helpful and friendly. Especially Alexandra, who helped us with everything. One afternoon they provided a five o’clock drink with tasty snacks and drink. This hotel is absolutely recommend.
Located in the small village Toblach (Dobbiaco on Italian), which is only 20 minutes car drive from Cortina, apartment is very spacious, with three separate bedrooms, kitchen with everything you need and spacious living room.
It is very quiet neighbourhood, so you will have a nice sleep there.
Amazing Hotel, staff always smiling and very helpful.
Room was perfect, clean and spacious, a really nice view and balcony.
Delicius breakfast, good variety and very good Capuccino.
100% recommend and also for traveling with Pets (received a nice treath on check in).
Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Well maintained, clean hotel located a short drive from Dobbiaco's town centre, San Candido, Braies and several ski resorts. Very good breakfast and dinner.
it was a very quaint and nice family run hotel. it had a nice pool and a full sauna room and the location was great with a view of the Dolomites one side and the old church the other side.
