Location and the staff put me in a room as I requested.
Went to graduation at the Wells Fargo Arena. The view of the bridge on the Riverwalk on the Des Moines River and dam lit up at night was awesome. So was the state capitol in the background. Felt very safe there. Biaggii's Italian Restaurant was superb. Our waiter Alan was very efficient and had a great memory for our size table. The Lobster Bisque, chocolate cake, mini sundaes, bread... everything. Just try it.

My friends and I had planned a trip to see basketball we live in the UK. I made a mistake and put in the wrong Arena on Booking.com and this hotel came up. I booked two rooms and when we put in the zip code it was 1,000 miles away!!! I contacted booking.com literally 3 minutes after booking who contacted the hotel on my behalf and they refused to answer me or booking.com. I lost £270.00. Moral of the story they were in their rights to take the money but the fact they ignored both me and booking.com says a lot about the company greed. Enjoy spending my money..

Des Moines is a very nice city, downtown is nice especially the skywalks. Our visit to the capitol grounds for the Des Moines symphony Yankee Doodle Pops event was awesome. We lived there a little over 30 years ago and still have friends that we visit from time to time. We always enjoy our visits.

Hotel was an easy walk to Civic Center and restaurants.
Hotel was an easy walk to Civic Center and restaurants. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from. Went to Court Street Brew Pub - casual and great for a variety of beers. Splash is a nice seafood restaurant - quiet and low key.
Parking is pricey whether in the ramp or on the street.
Cute shops downtown - nice change from mall shopping. Locally owned! Cooking store, spices, oil and vinegar shop, gift shops.
Hotel is historic and recently renovated - nicely done. Room was comfortable and quiet. Staff was pleasant and friendly.

Des Moines is a thriving metropolitan city with plenty of events and entertainment value. From exciting sporting events to an entertaining amusement park with a fabulous waterpark (better than Oceans of Fun in Kansas City). Exciting nightlife with alot of clubs with live entertainment. Golf Courses, Extreme skating park and many nice parks. If your a bicycler, their trail system is 2nd to none for riding enjoyment. Clean and friendly people. A nice place to visit. If you're lucky enough to be there during the Iowa State Fair, one of the best fairs in the USA!
I booked and paid for the hotel room, but could not find an Uber, taxi, shuttle or bus to pick me up from fairground campsite of RAGBRAI and transport me to hotel the night of my reservation. It was VERY frustrating. The hotel itself had no shuttle, so I could not get to hotel for the night. I then tried to cancel reservation and get a refund, but the cancellation policy says I must cancel more than 24 hours of paying. I did not discover the lack of transport until i arrived by bike late in the afternoon of the day I booked hotel room.
Breakfast at the restaurant was exceptional. Room was very nice and spacious. King bed was wonderful and they provide you with lots of pillows . Bathrooms were recently remodeled and the whole place was top notch. Close to dining, bars, nightlife. Young man at check-in had our room card ready literally 45 sec after walking up to the desk. I've never had a check in so quick and efficient. I forget his name (Riley/Ryan?) but he was exceptional. Made a few recommendations for dining and things to do while we were in Des Moines.
Spacious, comfortable room. Liked the bed. The light preventing curtains, which work very well, make the room so dark that at night it’s hard to see my way to the bathroom without a nightlight. Restaurant staff were gracious, efficient, food very good. Front desk staff were outstanding—helped arrange a cab for pickup at 4:30 am for early morning flight, gave helpful information and directions, went above and beyond and were incredibly personable, especially Lucas and Francesca.
Surety is a beautifully restored hotel with a great vibe and super nice staff. They took great care of me and my dog, Amy upgraded us to ensure we were in a very quiet room so my dog was relaxed. The rooms are large and nicely done, bed was perfect. I ate at the restaurant twice and was very impressed with the cocktails and locally sourced fish, veg and homemade pasta. It’s very close to Court Street and the nightlife. I will definitely stay again and highly recommend it!
Great location- convenient to downtown restaurants, bars, farmer's market, grocery store, etc. The condo was clean and provided kitchen necessities (less a pizza pan), laundry detergent, dishwashing tabs, etc. Perfect for our girls' trip to the Iowa State Fair. Easy code access to the secure building and code access to the condo. Also located in a safe area of downtown Des Moines where we felt comfortable walking everywhere.
The location is prime for an early flight out of Des Moines airport. The woman at the front desk was very helpful, especially with a good nearby restaurant recommendation. Parking is ample and they do offer an early morning breakfast. (I was walking out at 4:45 a.m. and they already had it set up.)
We will stay here again in the future when flying out of Des Moines.
The rooms were a good size, with a well stocked store/food options in the lobby. A great games room, large pool and a TV lounge mean there's plenty to do at the hotel. A large laundry was very handy too. A 5 minute drive from the airport and plenty of parking.
I actually missed breakfast because I got in late from an evening out with my family (who lives in Des Moines). So I was there just for a good nights sleep. Which I got 🙂
