Went to graduation at the Wells Fargo Arena. The view of the bridge on the Riverwalk on the Des Moines River and dam lit up at night was awesome. So was the state capitol in the background. Felt very safe there. Biaggii's Italian Restaurant was superb. Our waiter Alan was very efficient and had a great memory for our size table. The Lobster Bisque, chocolate cake, mini sundaes, bread... everything. Just try it.

My friends and I had planned a trip to see basketball we live in the UK. I made a mistake and put in the wrong Arena on Booking.com and this hotel came up. I booked two rooms and when we put in the zip code it was 1,000 miles away!!! I contacted booking.com literally 3 minutes after booking who contacted the hotel on my behalf and they refused to answer me or booking.com. I lost £270.00. Moral of the story they were in their rights to take the money but the fact they ignored both me and booking.com says a lot about the company greed. Enjoy spending my money..

Des Moines is a very nice city, downtown is nice especially the skywalks. Our visit to the capitol grounds for the Des Moines symphony Yankee Doodle Pops event was awesome. We lived there a little over 30 years ago and still have friends that we visit from time to time. We always enjoy our visits.

Hotel was an easy walk to Civic Center and restaurants.
Hotel was an easy walk to Civic Center and restaurants. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from. Went to Court Street Brew Pub - casual and great for a variety of beers. Splash is a nice seafood restaurant - quiet and low key.
Parking is pricey whether in the ramp or on the street.
Cute shops downtown - nice change from mall shopping. Locally owned! Cooking store, spices, oil and vinegar shop, gift shops.
Hotel is historic and recently renovated - nicely done. Room was comfortable and quiet. Staff was pleasant and friendly.

Des Moines is a thriving metropolitan city with plenty of events and entertainment value. From exciting sporting events to an entertaining amusement park with a fabulous waterpark (better than Oceans of Fun in Kansas City). Exciting nightlife with alot of clubs with live entertainment. Golf Courses, Extreme skating park and many nice parks. If your a bicycler, their trail system is 2nd to none for riding enjoyment. Clean and friendly people. A nice place to visit. If you're lucky enough to be there during the Iowa State Fair, one of the best fairs in the USA!
The only part was nice it was the main entrance but other than that we get but unpleasant surprise when arrive in the room it was duty every were carpet so nasty and the air vent was about to fail off and literally can see all the dust was released of that unfortunately my kids was in shock when they saw how bud was the smell like cigarettes in berry old abandoned room so we decided to cancel the reservation of the hotel because it was supposed to be a good vacation not a nightmare for my family
Room was dirty. Food left in refrigerator, q tips and dirty tissues behind the. Ight stand. Cheese >ts on the floor, rip in the mattress and no mattress covers. Shits looked used. Only 3 towels that looked used and recorded in the room. Breakfast was a joke. 1 very small pan of busicuits and gravy, cereal, Bagels, no cream cheese. Everything was broken. Disgusting fan covet in bathroom. Coffee maker in bathroom. Bathtub peeling.
Waffle machine. Ice machine. Just unbelievable.
Solid facility with well-trained and competent staff. Bonus that it is adjacent to headquarters of a respected truck line in DSM. [Yes, their trucker's behavior is noted at such facilities, and misbehavior is not acceptable. Company rules.] As a result, the symbiotic relationship benefits all. Including us who fill out the rooms available. Points added for refillable soap and consumables containers. Breakfast steward highly professional.
The staff was great, and very helpful. The hotel was very clean, which was great off course. Breakfast was nice, good options the kids where happy with it also. The location was the perfect location for what we were doing in Des Moines. We would definitely stay here again. That is not a question at all. The good most certainly out weighed the little things that we saw that could be improved.
Breakfast and happy hour were excellent. Room size was good but the interior needs updates all around. Bathroom was tiny, needs a facelift as does the bedding, paint, curtains, windows. Decor needs updating. Besides that the hotel is amazing, very friendly service, staff. We’ll run hotel. Amazing location. Loves being walkable to downtown with bridge and water access.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. Very clean and quiet room. We wish we could have tried the restaurant but our friends were joining us at their hotel and we had breakfast there instead. If we are in Des Moines in the future we would definitely stay at this Hotel again. Yes, it was pricey but worth it. Thank you to the excellent staff.
We were in Des Moines for an event at Hy-Vee Hall so the location was close and easy to walk to. Decor and cleanliness, as well as the friendly staff were great. They did have a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, oatmeal and waffles which were all nice.
Breakfast was one of the best we've had in any hotel where we've stayed. Lots of variety and very tasty! The workout room included free weights as well as cardio machines. Easy walking distance – and a very pleasant walk – to see an Iowa Cubs game!
The location was right off the interstate. Des Moines isn't very big, so we didn't mind the 15 minute drive into the city. There was ample parking and the neighborhood seemed safe.
The location to downtown des moines was optimal. The rooms were clean, The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Garage parking connected to the hotel.
