Bari is such an underestimated city!
Bari is such an underestimated city! We didn’t know it was such a beautiful place to live in, with so many things to do, taste, and explore. Highly recommend visiting, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!Guest review byIvanCroatia - 10.0
Wonderful old town with its honeycolored tuffstone buildings...
Wonderful old town with its honeycolored tuffstone buildings in barock achitecture. The Duomo and the great piazza del Duomo with its Campanile, Bishop Palace are beautiful.. From the church tower one has a great view. Another great and lively square is Piazza Sant Oronzo with the statue of the saint. Unfortunately, there was construction and closure of some part of the square but still big enough space for street performances at night. Day time was too hot. Aroud the piazza are niche cafes and restaurants.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Gallipoli is really beautiful.
Gallipoli is really beautiful. There is the old town which is very touristy. It is nice to walk around, buy souvenirs or get lunch/dinner. The beach is nice but crowded. Outside of the old town (on other side of the bridge), there are more locals and the prices are cheaper for lunch/dinner/drinks. There is a long avenue with nice shops and places to eat. I stayed in the old town (5-minute walk from the beach) and it was perfect. The only annoying thing is that taxis cannot enter the old town. It was difficult to bring our suitcases from the train station up into the old town. It was a 20-minute walk in very hot weather. When leaving Gallipoli, we ordered a taxi but the taxi can only come as far as the bridge, so we still had to walk for 10 minutes with our cases. This was difficult in the heat with cobblestones and small paths or streets. Gallipoli is very walkable and easy to get around. It is nice to do a walk along the seafront at night and there are lots of nice bars and restaurants.Guest review byEdieKKIreland - 10.0

Vieste is really interesting and pretty old town and the people are friendly. Good standard of restaurants and not overpriced. There's a port where we hired a boat or you can get a boat trip. Some parts are very steep but worth walking up for the views. We stayed on the beach, a 25 min walk in along the beach but worth it or there's a bus for 2 euros p.p Would definitely recommend it :)Guest review byJonnyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A beautiful area, lovely setting with the caves and the lovely colour of the water below the cliffs. Boat trips ongoing all day accessing the caves most days. Easily walkable and restaurants not far away. Lots of work going on - possibly reinforcing car park area near the apartment. Lovely roof top restaurant in same street, outdoor trattoria a couple of hundred feet away. Habitat Coffee Shop was a delightful find and not far from the grocery shop. Pretty old town area and access to the newer town - shade and benches were much needed in the heat. Tuktuk tour interesting and gave one more idea of distances to places.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A unique place where unfortunately I could not stay long enough, also given by the public transports not being frequent enough. I could stay longer before catching my train in Bari, but I had to leave at 9:00 am due to the public transport limitations. I'll definitively go back and stay one full day!Guest review byRaffaellaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt.
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt. It has a wonderfully tiled big square along the harbor with lots of restaurants. The town's white washed houses are delightful. It has a nice cathedral with a huge, beautifully restord mosaic along the floor of the cathedral. Visiting the historic castello is advisable. Walking the small pretty streets with its shops, cafes is very pleasant.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Nice beaches, plenty of fast food vendors, or dine-in...
Nice beaches, plenty of fast food vendors, or dine-in restaurants if you prefer. Beaches were very clean, and locals very helpful. Prices were very reasonable too, with local shops providing local produce. For a real treat, try Cosimino Restaurant on Via Cosimo Albano; you can book a table overlooking the sea - its great food, and a fabulous atmosphere. It was not a noisy resort, in fact, we thought it was quiet, however, on weekends there was live music after dark. If you are planning a stay, Porto Cesareo is the perfect place to unwind and capture some Italian sunshine.Guest review byJeffUnited Kingdom
