From our initial call till we left everything was superb. Dominic at the desk, the valet folks, Keneth who helped get our bags to the room, The receptionists at Kampers were amazing. Our room was perfect, every detail exceeded expectations. We walked or took the people mover everywhere!

    I really enjoyed Detroit's downtown.

    I really enjoyed Detroit's downtown. It's a rebuild going on in Detroit. There is so much history. I hated to leave so soon. I was able to go to Comerica Park and the Little Caesars Arena while in town. I was there for the Claressa Shields' boxing match. The people of Detroit had great energy.

    My stay was just in the downtown area.

    My stay was just in the downtown area. I was there for a work convention and stayed in the local area the whole time. Huntington Place is a great convention center, and the convention was a great success. There are some nice places to grab a quick bite and all within safe and walking distance. I will come back again.

    The Detroit Institute of Art is wonderful. (see first photo below of Diego Rivera mural). Also a visit of the Heidelberg Project is worthwhile (one street of "street art" in a neighborhood that deserves more attention). The Henri Ford museum and especially the adjacent "village" is fantastic!

    It was cold!! We went in January so that is expected.

    It was cold!! We went in January so that is expected. The ride from the airport was about 30 minutes by ride share. There was a car show a few 100 feet from the hotel we stayed at, and although it was kind of basic for being in the Motor City, it was still a good car show. I do love that Detroit is in a Renaissance because it is a beautiful city with magnificent architecture. The people we met from Detroit were mostly friendly and welcoming. We attended a Lions game and were there supporting the opposing team. There were no issues and it even made for a great conversation starter. I'd go back!!

    If you love New York City but are a little tired of the...

    If you love New York City but are a little tired of the swarming tourists and insane traffic, visit Detroit. Downtown is wonderful, with great shops and restaurants, a vibrant street scene with pedestrians and musicians, world class museums, and amazing architecture. Don't miss the lobby of the Book Tower or Michigan Central Station.

    Hadn't previously visited Detroit.

    Hadn't previously visited Detroit. Attended a great concert at the Fillmore, ate at Mom's Spaghetti, toured the Motown Museum, and more. If you like corned beef, you must visit Lon's! Highly recommended. I'll return for another visit.

    The hotel is very old but extremely clean. The beds were so comfortable. Also the best TV I have had in a hotel. The staff was incredible from front end, housekeepers and morning servers. So friendly and accommodating.
