Salzburg is a true tourist’s paradise—breathtaking views,...
Salzburg is a true tourist’s paradise—breathtaking views, warm and welcoming people, rich culture, and amazing food. We stayed for 4 nights, but it simply wasn’t enough to take it all in properly. There’s so much to see and explore—definitely worth a longer trip! Getting around Salzburg is super easy. Public transport is excellent—reliable, well-connected, and tourist-friendly. We had free mobility passes, which made it even better. If you’re driving, it’s extremely comfortable and can cover more places easily, but make sure to start early—traffic builds up as the day goes on. In addition to exploring salzburg city, we also visited nearby gems like Hallstatt, and Berchtesgaden—each one unbelievably beautiful and unique. Though we couldn’t make it to the salt mines in Hallstatt or Berchtesgaden, we did the one in Bad Dürrnberg (a short bus ride from Hallein), and it was an unforgettable 90-minute tour 1,500 meters underground—crossing from Austria into Germany and back! The Celtic village there was fascinating, and the Sommerrodelbahn turned out to be one of our favorite memories. There are absolute gems like St. Gilgen, Bad Ischl, St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut, and Bad Goisern that are still on our list to explore. We’re definitely planning a return trip—Salzburg deserves at least a full week to truly experience it all.Guest review byAnandhGermany - 8.0

It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. It was not well advertised that we should have paid for parking. Nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!Guest review byCarolynUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Nice old town to walk around.
Nice old town to walk around. Have some nice restaurants like the Indian restaura, Namaste. Very authentic Indian food with good service and atmosphere. Another restaurant is Genusskramerei. This restaurant has a small but exclusive menu. Upmarket.Guest review byReneSingapore - 10.0

The staff and hospitality, the effort they made to speak to me in English, they even brought me breakfast out to the patio, everyone else was inside the dining hall, I wanted to enjoy the nice fall weather, by the way the breakfast was easily worth $35.00Guest review bySyedUnited States - 10.0
A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town...
A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. And the sky at night is spectacular! Want an authentic taste of Austrian Gemütlichkeit? This is your place!Guest review byDanaUnited States - 10.0
The apartment was in a good location, away from Salzburg...
The apartment was in a good location, away from Salzburg center but an easy drive. Grodig is cute & walkable. Good grocery store around the corner & fabulous fish market down the street. We did not eat out so can’t say anything about the food scene. The apartment was perfect for two. The view of the mountains is good but first floor is really looking onto the parking area. A second floor apartment would give the better mountain views. There are bike trails theoughout the area & bike racks at the apartment.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

The Hof bei Salzburg itself is a beautiful peasefull village, very calm and quiet. Lots of supermarkets and DM store available and located in the village. In the evening after 7 pm everithing pretty closed, so make your shopping in advance.Guest review byElenaIsrael - 8.0
Lovely place to visit for a couple of days.
Lovely place to visit for a couple of days. Particularly enjoyed the Hohensalzburg Fortress and Hellbrunn. Watch out for the 3 hour parking restrictions in the kurzparkzone which we we're not aware ofGuest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 10.0
the staff is amazing
the staff is amazing To things are subjects for improvement First 1.enrich the breakfast 2.There is no refrigerator and safe in the rooms, in my opinion this is a big drawback, a hotel with excellent service like the Kammel needs a safe and a refrigerator in the room for the comfort of the guestsGuest review byNIZARIsrael - 8.0
A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining.
A must-see for those interested in Celts and Mining. The "Salzbergwerk Dürrnberg" is much much more interesting, than the overfamous "Salzbergwerk Hallstatt". Celtic Museum in Hallein ist really of value. The town itself has a very limited number of places to dine. Decent train connection to Salzburg, savin You a lot of money and a most boring view of Salzburg after 5 p.m.Guest review byRobertAustria
