The property is central within Chepstow and a short walk from a large car park. Check-in instructions were clear and delivered in good time. The fan in the room was useful, especially as the only windows were skylights and our request for additional loo paper was very quickly answered.

An interesting place, a short walk to the castle with good parking facilities. Quite hilly for walking, a great italian restaurant about 100 yard walk, a busy pub across the road. Has a railway station not far away. A 20 minute drive into Bristol - over the Severn Bridge.

The Castle was quite an experience in itself and we loved the free community museum down the street. Allow a couple of hours to see everything. If you walk halfway across the old bridge you can take a photo with one foot in Wales and the other in England. There are fun seal sculptures by the riverside near a little park with lovely flowering trees and daffodils (Spring).

A town with character, pleasant to walk around, hills were manageable, riverside was charming (albeit deserted in the rain). Plenty of eateries. Excellent Italian restaurant Panevino down near the river.

Love Chepstow we come here for work but love the town and the countryside. Wish we had found the Snug at Glen view farm for our previous visits which gave us country living with Chepstow during the day where we were working.

There were lovely places to see and a market on the Sunday through the high street. I highly recommend the castle. There were some fantastic places to eat - a fabulous Italian called Panevino is well worth a visit.

Chepstow is a village with an amazing history.

Chepstow is a village with an amazing history. It is overlooked by tourists in my view. The castle was a family home to the medieval power couple - William Marshal and Isabel de Clare. The castle is noted for its architecture, and is very walkable. There are sidewalk signs that will provide you with insights as to the various shops that existed at each address in Beaufort square. Three main walking routes around and near the village are designated by colored tiles on the walk ways. Lots of quaint shops and cafes. There is a Greggs available. Getting cash, however, is tricky. There is only one bank - Lloyd's - with two outdoor ATMs. Most shopkeepers preferred cash, but will accept contactless payments (cards). I was really impressed and happy I spent time there.

The room was remarkable - it was so authentically historic, but comfortable, beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were great, there was a terrific atmosphere in the bustling pub downstairs and the breakfasts were both delicious and very generous. The location between the Castle, the Museum, the River and the town centre could not be better! Really thought it was exceptional value for money and I would return, any day.

Friendly helpful staff, brilliant location, above a lovely bar in the town centre with public parking close by. Quite a vibrant lively place in a fascinating old town. Evening food looked great but we had already eaten. Really enjoyed the short time we had there and would come back if in the area.

The location was perfect, right by the castle a 5 min walk into the town centre , 1min walk to the Italian restaurant. Breakfast was full English, standard but good tasting . The whole hotel itself was quirky, a few bits needed working on , however was still a lovely stay .
