The hotel is excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive — we truly felt very welcomed and well taken care of. Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious food. The hotel itself is super comfortable. And as a bonus, they offer a Late Check-Out option, which more hotels should adopt. Since it was available, we were able to leave the room later, for a very fair price. If you’re visiting Coruña, stay at this hotel… an excellent choice! :D

FAQs about hotels in A Coruña

Beaches, Balconies and a Beacon

Spread around a wide bay and rocky promontory, A Coruña has an important Galicia port where many cruise ships stop. Overlooking the bay is Torre de Hercules, a lighthouse used continually since Roman times.

A lengthy coastal promenade passes nearby Aquarium Finisterrae, where some pools are linked to the ocean. Further along are the curving sands of Playa de Orzán and Playa Riazor, with perfect offshore conditions for windsurfing, while to the east is smaller San Amaro beach.

At the heart of A Coruña (also called La Coruña and Corunna) is elegant Maria Pita Square, named after a local woman who heroically fought the English Armada. Monuments of other famous figures include houses of Emilia Pardo Bazan and Picasso, and the Luis Seoane Museum, found among the old town streets with their typical enclosed balconies.

The city also has an archaeology museum, set in 16th-century San Antón Castle on a rocky outcrop overlooking the water. Much more modern is the Millennium Obelisk, with views back towards the beachfront bars where the best nightlife is found. Quieter pavement restaurants surround parks such as landscaped Mendez Nunez Gardens with its fountain and bandstand.

Booking.com accommodations include luxury hotels, cheap apartments and guesthouses near Plaxco Convention Center, all easily reached from A Coruña Airport.

We just stayed one day and I cursed my body allowing me to eat just 4-5 times a day :v Seriously, every other corner has a place you want to stop and eat from. The one we went were all welcoming, and food was delicious. The day after we had to stop at the covered market and bought a stupid amount of cheese/charcuterie.

Universal Cafe on Rua San Andres is fabulous.

Universal Cafe on Rua San Andres is fabulous. Friendly, quirky and reasonably priced. They have music and art, and a projector, which when we were visiting had Popeye movies showing. The owner/manager is charming and lots of people and dogs come by, just to say hi. Looks imposing from outside, but go on in, they're lovely. OlaBar on Rua Barrera is excellent. The food and service were by far the best we tried in A Coruna. Also very reasonably priced for the quality of food and wine we had. Buses round the city are easy to hop on and off, though not always on time, if you want to go to the airport, allow for one not turning up. The town is a quirky mix of new and old. Hercules tower is an interesting landmark, and the beach and surrounding park is beautiful - take supplies, there's nothing there. The old town is worth exploring, but there are few cafes/bars. Plaza de Maria Pita sits on the edge of the old town and has plenty of good bars to sit outside and people watch. Taberna de Cunquiero - great food, with surly waiting staff! reasonably priced and always really busy, be prepared to wait for a table. We had great food here. The beach is sandy (being refilled with sand when we were there!) There's little infrastructure to be had, so take supplies and there's no shade.

A Coruna is a wonderful place. the tower of Hercules is obviously worth a visit, but note that parking nearby is very tight. The other sites are in the old city, which is a half hour walk. The old city is very nice and easily walk able. The travel map for the city was not the best I have seen, but a bit of research in advance solved that. One place to see is a quaint shop right off the square in front of the yacht marina on Darsena Street that sells pictures and cups, umbrellas, tshirts and other stuff with her paintings on them. Worth a look for the novelty factor if nothing else.

I went to La Coruna to visit the MOP museum to view Irving Penn's Centennial exhibition. YES I traveled 23 hours from Manila, Philippines to see it! I heard the MOP emphasizes fashion, photography and La Coruna. Well, it certainly did attract several people even from overseas and out of town. When the power outage happened on the 28th, I was there and got to meet several other travelers while we waited for news. People in La Coruna are very kind and helpful. They look affluent and stylish but the place still has a warm small town feel, I noticed many people greeting each other on the street. I love that it is by the coast ...I took a two hour bike tour with Eco-Logica and hihgly recommend it, the guide Juan was excellent. I then took a walking tour the next morning with Viator and Alex the guide was also super. I visited the bookstore Arenas and bought three classic novels, a book of watercolors of La Coruna and a new collection of essays by Almiudena Grandes. I had some excellent seafood there : Merluza and Calamares. La Coruna is a special place, and i'll probably come back to do the English Camino. I came to La Coruna for the exhibition of Irving Penn at the MOP, BUT I got *so much more*! (three nights spent, with the special drama of the power outage on 28 April)

Great hotel at a fantastic location in the historic center of A Coruña. The bed and pillow were very comfortable. I stayed in the standard double room which was of good size and with a nice bathroom. The room and bathroom were very clean and modern. What I appreciate the most was the kind staff. I was unfortunate to get sick so I had to extend my stay 5 more days. The hotel staff were very helpful and kind. The location is great, a 2 min walk to the Marina and is surrounded by restaurants, cafes and pedestrian shopping areas.
