6 days is about enough time to do one route of the Midlands Meander thoroughly. I think 8 days was a bit too long this time, but it was extremely relaxing and we managed to have fun for every day that we were there.

Best was location, great staff, meals, pub atmosphere
The room was dated - not what I had expected & the lack of windows left a claustrophobic feeling. Also had requested a double bed & ended up with singles

Everything! A lovely gem of a place. Beautiful views and such tranquility, just what we needed. The owners were so kind and generous to have given us bottled water, eggs, milk, rusks, firewood and even firelighters. A beautiful cottage. Absolutely clean and very spacious. We adored the bathroom/shower. The rooms/beds were extremely comfortable. Many blankets located in the lounge and bedroom which we loved as it was quite cold in the mornings and evenings.
Friendliness of staff and hospitality exceeded expectations. It is obvious that the staff consider this more than just a job - they are one big family and made us feel very much a part of the family.
The rooms were beautiful, very clean.

Warm cozy cottage, crisp clean linen with comfortable beds….spacious cottage and lovely open grass area overlooking the farm.
Small touches like fresh bread, milk, eggs and wood for fireplace made you feel extra at home.
The location was very close to Bierfassl, Nottingham Road Junction and Spar, which is a bonus. It was also a positive surprise to see a power backup inverter installed to overcome loadshedding.
Location is perfect, quiet and secluded but not to far from the highway and close to fabulous restaurants!
The Dam Cottage is beautifully appointed and beyond comfortable!
