Very kind and informative staff. Mr. Tokuda gave us a tour of the museum floor, and even played the traditional flute to acquaint us with Japanese music. He was very kind to tell us about the history of the several locations we planned to visit. He even gave us a ride back to the train station when we checked out.

Lots of tourists on holidays but pretty peaceful on normal days. The beach was great but I think they limit the days you can swim. Nice stroll along the sandbar. Amanohashidate is the main thing, there's nothing much to do in Ine aside from taking the boat tour. It's probably best to take the tour that starts from Amanohashidate and goes straight to Ine if you want to save time.

Futons on tatami matting and a traditional onsen (shared hot tub). There is also a small hot tub in the room. The family have been running it for 13 generations. It is designated museum as they keep it as traditional as is possible. Our room gave onto a delightful Japanese garden just in from the coast and was very tranquil. This is not for people looking for modern conveniences.
