The nicely renovated rural house. A family owned and operated with the family rite on site. The dining and restaurant were a distinctly positive experience. We enjoyed some of the best food of our entire stay in Spain. Some delicious and creative offerings. The family were very attentive and supportive.

The patio area was very nice plus there were clothes lines for drying clothes- Camino laundry. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The dinner menu was okay and we enjoyed our dinner.

Great location right on Camino and close to laundromat, shops and restaurants.
Checkin and all communication was done via booking messages. It was effective and somewhat convenient. We did all this without ever meeting any staff.
Heat came on early evening but went off shortly around 10:30pm. So it felt cold during the night and early in the morning when we woke up.

I’ve walked the Camino 5 times and always stayed in private accommodations. Many have been quite nice at my (not high) budget. This apartment, I would have to say, was the nicest of all. I arrived on a rainy day and walked into a very warm and welcoming apartment. The owners had thought of every possible way to make me (at least) happy. Some foods were provided and with food I carried, I was able to put together dinner and breakfast easily. Lots of radiators for heat and drying clothes. Very quiet place, I couldn’t have been happier. The next morning the weather was awful. It was incredibly difficult to leave such comfort and perfection.

El balneario y el masaje del peregrino, maravilloso
HORRIBLE HOTEL. INFESTED WITH BED BUGS AND NO HEATER IN ROOM. AWFUL SERVICE. NO ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE IN TIMES OF NEED. DISGRACE TO THE CITY. HOPE THE CITY SHUTS THIS HOTEL DOWN.
WHEN YOU CALL THE FRONT DESK, THERE IS NO ONE AVAILABLE AND WHEN YOU CALL ON THE CELL PHONE, THEY SAY HEATER IS BROKEN OR MUNCIPALITY DOES NOT ALLOW HEATERS TO BE TURND ON IN ROOMS.

Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (...
Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (currently in Melide), Palas de Rei was the least interesting or exciting. Still, it had hidden gems in a hostal we found to eat dinner (there are not a lot of options) and returned for breakfast on our way out. Also, the laundry mat was a big plus and the driers worked really well. Dried a lot of clothes for 3 euros. Just have to ask around for change. The bar next door and the grocery store behind were so helpful.

A great place to stay, relax , have a well earned siesta after long walk from Portmarin 24.6 kms + Probably quieter in October when we visited but still found a good restaurant "Meson a Forxa" and had a delicious meal after 7 - early for Spanish but filled up rapidly . Lots of Camino walkers took break here.

Restaurants are very good and reasonably priced. 10 euros are enough for a person per day to be happy and even to try a milk sucking lamb baked in owen.

Small interesting town on the camino trail route (St James), not a lot to see but a good selection of bars and restaurants.
A few shops selling all sorts of things, so you could find what you need if required.
It was an absolute joy staying at Casa Bolboreta, a small family-owned hotel that's a bit off the camino (but they'll pick you up and drop you off). They'll make you feel right at home. The rooms were very nice, but the highlight was the dinner. Absolutely delicious. The owners are putting a nice modern spin on Spanish food and hospitality, with a focus on local ingredients, which is much appreciated when most restaurants on the Camino essentially have the same menu.
Lovely albergue. Easy check in, very friendly hospitalero. I loved the bunks with curtains for extra privacy, you also have your own power socket to charge your phone. The place was tidy and comfortable. It has a bar are and a big common room where you can socialize with other pilgrims. 10 mins walk to centre of Palas de Rei where you can do your shopping or have dinner. Easy!
A welcoming and efficient hotel on the Camino. Charming touches in the rooms and the lounge, plus a very attentive owner/operator, Mario. Good space in the back (although it was chilly and windy so we couldn't enjoy much, but on a better day it would have been fantastic just to lounge outside). Very good breakfast, well-made food. Stay. The owner takes pride in the place.
it is located very close to the camino way with some cafes around it, the good thing is it has a lift to transport our heavy luggage up to 3rd floor and balcony for us to sit and enjoyed the sunset also for drying our clothes, the room and bathroom were clean with good supply of shampoo and bath gel, the hotel does not provide breakfast or any meals
Comfortable Pension on the Camino de Santiago. Host was very accommodating. We had a comfortable room with private bath on the second level. There's a small kitchen with complementary tea/coffee. A lovely patio, with seating as well as an area for washing clothes if needed (washer and dryer also available on third level, 4 euros each).
one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in - and we stay in a lot of hotels! Gustavo and his partner couldn’t do enough for us, even picking us up and dropping us off to the camino way. room was magnificent, as were the other facilities. set in a beautiful location, our stay was really special.
The buildings and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The courtyard is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. The location is very close to the Camino de Santiago. The dining area and bar are well designed and inviting.
Our room and bathroom were large, clean and comfortable.
A really lovely little hotel. All was new and super clean. Our room on the top floor was large and airy. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and recommended a near by restaurant which was very good. The delicious breakfast consisted of locally sourced / organic ingredients.
This was a wonderful place to stay along the Camino. It was clean and bright and comfortable. The views from the room of the neighborhood, chickens, roosters, gardens .... just lovely. Hotel staff was helpful and I would highly recommend staying here!
The hospitality was warm. Maria drived to the town to fetch us. She was always accommodating and friendly.
The food was exceptional - supper especially, and breakfast too.
Felt like a hotel, with the added human personal attention.
Many Thanks!
Nice and cozy place. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He even offered to pick us up from the town and tale us to the hotel. The next morning he took us back to town and even gave us a Lunch box (we were doing the Camino de Santiago)
Excellent hosts - great, individual and exclusive location! Very good dinner and breakfast. it is my third camino and this is one of the best hotels with outstanding hosts. And they have by far the best Santiago cake - home made ;)!
there is absolutely nothing to dislike about this place,if you are planning to stop in Palas de Rei don’t even consider staying anyplace else. unless of course you are a Camino tourist,If you are then find a hotel 😁😁
Spotlessly clean hotel in a quiet street but close to nearby restaurants. Very friendly, helpful and hospitable staff. Comfortable, spacious and simple room. Secure garage to store our bikes. Great choice on the Camino
Very nice, clean and comfortable rooms. The property itself was very well decorated The hotel was in a good location for us to spend the night while walking the Camino
This hotel is very central and right on the Camino route. So it's an easy choice - I had a good experience with the staff. And overall received good service.
