Hawthorne View was the perfect stop for us on a busy travel/family visiting day between Thurles and Holy Cross and the Rock of Cashel. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Noreen prepared a beautiful breakfast which was much appreciated. Our mistake for her booking info clearly states it, but we missed that payment is in cash only. Luckily a shop w/an ATM not far away.

Absolutely gorgeous room in a perfect location. The breakfast was amazing, highly recommend if you’re thinking of booking. The staff were so lovely too, it was a lovely stay, wish it was longer!

We visited the Rock of Cashel which is visible from Rockville House. When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly Inn keepers. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of tea and coffee, comfortable beds, and tv. The parking is safe and behind a gate. The breakfast is very good and served hot. Quiet place, you can see the Rock of Cashel from the front door of the B&B.

Our Hosts Josephine was Incredible. We are traveling with my parents that in their eighties. We traveled from the USA all night. We arrived at her B and B around 0930. Josephine not only let us check into our rooms She made us a wonderful Irish Breakfast. Her kindness and hospitality is what makes me Love Ireland. People like Josephine is why I have travelled to Ireland 4 times. The location of her B and B was in the Great little walkable town of Cashel .
Very clean and quiet and plenty of space to park. Helpful, friendly host. Location easy to find from main route and only a few minutes to town of Thurles. Ate at a lovely pub and used the ATM in town. Easy to park and walk around town. Host even let us play her piano.

Unfortunately you have to travel a lot to find places of interest. Sorry but places advertised as open like the Fairy Fort farm are not open to families anymore, only guests staying in accommodation. Holy Cross maybe of more interest to holy people only. Was expecting more historical interest, TBH. Forgettable place.
Only highlight was Rock of Cashel, that I do recommend.

My mother is from Thurles. So coming back to her hometown was exciting and fun. Though we were with cousins from this area we did get to walk around town a little. Town is full of activity. Great people watching and everyone we met were very helpful and friendly. Great little shopping center also

Thurles is not a tourist destination; it is an older Irish agricultural town. I was there tracing my roots. Nearby Kilkenney would be a better destination for accommodations, dining and attractions.

Thurles was just a stop over for us but in the time we had we saw some beautiful churches. Amazing stained glass. Went to the Famine war museum which is permanently closed!!! but an attached graveyard held beautiful plaques related to Irish history and some graves dating back to 1600s. We also found Holy Cross Abbey which is partially still in use and partially in ruins. It was very interesting.
We only spent a few hours exploring Thurles but had a lovely time there.
We chose to stay in Thurles to avoid some of the pricier options in the more tourist-friendly Kilkenny. The Hayes is beautiful and conveniently centered in the town square, with a nice private car lot behind the building. The receptionist was friendly and well-prepared for our arrival, and our rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was large with great amenities. The full Irish breakfast was excellent and featured fresh-baked pastries.
Receptionist at check in was superb. Efficient and friendly. Nice to see a male receptionist in a hotel for a change. Comfortable and freshly cooked fry. Lovely. Staff member at host desk not very friendly but two other staff members including what looked like the GM came over and could not be nicer. Dinner previous evening (duck) was superb and staff couldn't be friendlier. Room was very nice but couldn't find where to control the heat (too warm)
I cannot recommend The Anner Hotel enough. The staff are exceptional and even though there was also a wedding taking place and we didn't even realise until we seen the Bride. The staff were friendly and chatty and the bar food was delicious. I was surprised and grateful with the lengths the Breakfast staff went to with removing and sanitising the tables after use.
Would we return again.........you can be sure of it!
Very friendly hostess and helpful with suggestions on where to eat , which pub to visit and where to go. Flowers were beautiful and the rooms were very clean. She even helped us in weighing our bags before we left by supplying a scale! House is set out of town so quieter with a very short drive to the motorway and Thurles is the other direction, also close. A good sleep followed by a good breakfast!
It was like going back in time to visits to Ireland in my childhood. Staff were so welcoming, warm and friendly. Decor is old style but only added to charm and welcome. Very comfortable bed and breakfast was amazing. I stayed with daughter and granddaughter and we were given adjoining rooms that opened into each other. Staff accommodated granddaughter’s allergies which was an extra bonus.

One of the better stays I have had at a hotel. Absolutely no issues. I felt very at home for my two day stay. An important part of any stay for me is the food, and Anner Hotel nailed it. Ed's Bistro provided excellent food that didn't break the bank. The breakfast selection was superb and despite the hotel being busy, I didn't have to wait too long.
A lovely country house feel to this B&B yet it had all the modern conveniences needed for a short stay. Very quiet even though it was on quite a busy street. Was welcomed and well looked after throughout my stay. I will certainly stay here again if travelling to Thurles. I would recommend.
Great location in town. Old hotel with character, like uneven floors...helpful desk staff, generous breakfasts, comfortable modern mattress.
Also restaraunt was satisfactory for dinner or lunch. Tourist literature (local maps) available.
Was a great stay all around.
Easy to find off the mine route and close to town also. Very quiet and just what we needed traveling on to Dublin after leaving Old Head Golf Course. Our host adjusted her time for an early 7 am breakfast. Very friendly and helpful with all our questions.
Good location from Thurles and Templemore. Lovely clean room with clean, good-sized bathroom, with towels, shampoo, and shower gel provided! The owner of the property is also so inviting and helpful!
we stayed only for one night at the Anner Hotel. The dinner at their Bistro was convenient and good. Staff at the reception and at the pool were super friendly.
We booked the only suite that Hayes' Hotel has onsite. We had been upgraded before due to a number of bad service experiences so we knew what to expect.
