Daytona has changed a lot since I visit in 2003 for the first time to 2024 last weekend. The sand is disappearing and the water seems to be too close to the retention walls of the properties. I remember having to walk from the stairs to the water, people where lying down in the sand. Now it is dangerous to do it due to cars passing by too close from people for my liking. Still is one of my favorite places. Still is THE BEACH I LOVE.

There is a lot to see in the Daytona Beach area.
There is a lot to see in the Daytona Beach area. I discovered a new place, The Daytona Beach Aquarium, which is new and expanding as well. Instead of building more for this attraction they did a great job of repurposing a former retail area. I will be revisiting that attraction for sure. Like all areas of the world the climate has taken a toll in recent years, but Daytona area is doing a wonderful job of getting things restored. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that like any place including where you live everyday it is wise to know your surroundings. I attended opening day of the Tortugas at Jackie Robinson Ballpark with my son and daughter-in-law and was delighted to see how the area came out to support their team. There is far more to see and do in that area if you take the time to research what is there.

It’s good if you like dive bar hopping!
It’s good if you like dive bar hopping! Lots of places have live music.
Riptides was a lively restaurant with good outdoor covered seating. Food was good and good live music.
Other bars The Famous Boothill saloon, Ditty Harry’s, Froggie’s good Happy Hours.
Ocean Deck has good food and a great live band.
Easy to walk from bar to bar.
I would probably avoid Bike week locals say it’s ridiculously crowded and the prices go way up.

Great place, parking on the beach for a fee.
Great place, parking on the beach for a fee. Unfortunately not the same Daytona Beach that I remember Pre Covid!!!!!!
Approaching Atlantic Ave from route 95 you go past homeless people camped on the side of the street, literally sleeping on the sidewalk. Cannot stop at an intersection without at least 1 homeless person approaching your vehicle. However once on Daytona Beach the homeless are less. But still visible. There are NO homeless or panhandlers on the Boardwalk or the pier. Very Limited rides for kids or adults. The boardwalk is only 3/4 of a mile 1 way and there are store fronts that are empty and seem to have been empty for a while.
The Daytona Beach of eras gone by is GONE!!!!!!
The best breakfast that we had 3 mornings in a row, was at the Cracked Egg. There's also Bens, but they only accept cash and no credit or debit cards.
An absolute must restaurant is Aunt Catfish's in Port Orange!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try Fysh was also a great spot to have a drink on their rooftop and watch the boats go by.
Mexican is DEFINETLY Don Peppers!!!!!!!! Whatever you may want for Mexican food, Don Peppers can make it for you

Staying in Daytona is great.
Staying in Daytona is great. Stay away from the most popular hotels and book something like Perry's Oceanside Resort or something else. These places have great amenities, great views, and great staff.
Daytona Beach can be a little iffy regarding hotel stays. You can easily spend $500 a night and get a pretty crappy hotel. This was a great value for the money, the facility was nice, the room was nice, the staff were nice they have a nice bar right in the big lobby And the hotel food was actually very good. Note that booking.com says the room was ocean view, that’s a little bit of a scam because it’s just a slight view of the ocean, we expected it to be ocean front, but view and front are different. That should’ve been made clear.
The condo we stayed in was nice. The set up was good, we loved having a kitchen. Having the pool and lazy river was fun for the kids. The location is a little crazy for getting in and out but free parking is provided in a parking garage. The desk people were helpful when checking in. The view of the beach was beautiful. Easy walk to the boardwalk/shops and the Band shell. Security guards walked the place 24/7 so someone was watching and there was a lock on the gate to beach so only hotel guests could get in.
Yes, Hilton was very underrated. I booked large room including breakfast but they didn’t allow us to have breakfast. we were eight guest including 4 children. The hotel didn’t allow us to have breakfast and they said we need to pay if we do the breakfast. We’ve been treated very badly. We came to USA from LONDON for holiday, but this hotel treat us as they are underrated hostels. We’re so unhappy and ashamed for the food issues. We want out full refund as disgusted on our summer holiday.
The location was perfect! One of the only beachfront hotels, that is set up and welcoming to the everyday Joe. Kid friendly, not uptight, didn't have to worry about kids walking on eggshells, staff was very friendly to my grandkids. Another thing that was absolutely amazing "smokers" where not shunned into a small corner, they provided benches and ashtrays right outside your rooms... very comfortable for us..we will definitely be visiting again.
The location was perfect, right by the daytona beach. We paid $196 for one night. The pictures looked nothing how it looks in person, unfortunately! Don’t think the room / stay was worth $200, for one night . When we got to the room we instantly wanted our money back for a different hotel, called around to different hotels and they were all booked for that weekend so we made it work.. wouldn’t stay here again.
Location to the Daytona 500 and price was reasonable (booked 9 months ahead). Facilities around the hotel where enough but had to walk a distance. Shuttle service to Daytona 500 was good and cheap at $5 a person but you could also walk if you like (25 minutes) not much about the hotel to like its really just a bed and a locked door for a reasonable price.
Cheapest around at the time we booked & being oceanfront property.

This is the first time I have stayed in a hotel in Daytona Beach. The hotel is less than 2 years old and very clean. The staff are very pleasant. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I really was pleasantly surprised with my experience in a 2 star hotel. If I return to Daytona, I will stay here again.
Beautiful hotel. Nice and clean. Parking garage parking. We stayed in the King bedroom oceanfront suite with oceanview and it was amazing. The view was breathtaking, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast wasn't free, so we ate breakfast across the street at Starlite Diner, which was very good.
It was a great family location and ocean front. Very serene and peaceful. Staff was extremely nice. They were very welcoming and friendly. I definitely recommend this Hyatt hotel location in Daytona Beach. If I can give 50 stars I would.
I visited this hotel with my family. We got 3 rooms with ocean view and we loved it. Every detail of the hotel was beautiful. If I came back to Daytona Beach, I will definitely stay in the Hard Rock Hotel.
Very friendly staff and a great place to stay. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cheaper place that is just as good as the more expensive hotels in the area!
The location of the Hotel was fantastic. Loved the pool on the beach, and being right on the beach access for vehicles to watch everyone driving onto the beach.
The hotel felt old and weathered. The bar was an awful experience, under staffed and waited for a cocktail. I am a Hilton Honor and never once was given a water.
Beachfront location was amazing. Hotel next door was being renovated - didnt look pretty but didnt really impact us. Room was good - nice and big and clean.
