Thing to remember is this is a resort with a european feel, not just a hotel to lay your head down for the night. If you are looking for a just a clean bed and continental breakfast this may not be your cup of tea. The facility is big, yet has a coziness to it. We loved the multiple small gathering rooms and nooks spread about the building with shelves filed with books, board games and puzzles. The property is huge, plenty of places to wander but also lots of hosted happenings. Loved the beer hall...they do a maple themed beer every year and it is very good. Staff is exceptional. they all seem to love working there. Highly recommend as a get away place.

Excellent decor, friendly staff, and incredible common area above pool. Walkability to the best of Stowe's town restaurants was a huge bonus, even more so in the warmer months.

Everything was fine until I was discriminated against because my husband had a service dog, the staff including all the management kicked us out of our room and tried to stick us in a cottage that smelled horrible of dog urine and when I pointed that out they said it was our licensed service dog that made it smell that way, even though I didn’t have to show the service dog license I did show them and they still didn’t believe that he was a service dog and kept demanding to know what services he provided. There was many other non service dogs on the property and them guests were not being harassed at all. When I asked upper management for help with being harassed they both looked at each other and smerked at each other on how happy they were with our discomfort on our stay, obviously us being a guest there seemingly inconvenienced them into actually having to do their job.

I am not very good with follow-up reviews but I would never fail to say that we thought this place was a big cut above. The personal attention and warmth of the staff was very apparent and the room was very pleasant. There were so many touches that showed they really care about their resort and their guests. The bed was divine. And the gas fireplace was a treat, Thank you!!!
Stowe.... a skiers paradise. Cute downtown area, awsome skiing. Nice apres ski options. My wife and I attempt to visit every winter. The town offers a good variety of eateries, resturants stores etc. One tip though... try to book a hotel that offers breakfast. I honestly could not offer a recommendation on a sit down resterant for breakfast. Just my opinion.

Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey.
Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey. Shops are very pricey but lots of homemade items and boutique type places. Food is really good at the restaurants. Everyone is really friendly. Will I be back probably not, but not because it was bad just very slow paced not for me. Definitely out of a hallmark movie though!

You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup...
You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup and hollandaise sauce at the Butler's Pantry. Alchemist brewery is a must stop and Von Trapp Brewery and lodge grounds deserve a visit. Great place in the winter, if you like winter sports. But with all the natural beauty, it is worth a visit any time a year. Fall foliage is awesome to see in this area.

We love Stowe.
We love Stowe. We have been here many times starting over 50 years ago on our honeymoon!! The character of the town is just wonderful. This year they had a Halloween parade with the children of the town all dressed up!! It was charming! We will definitely be back!!

Stowe is adorable.
Stowe is adorable. The reputation it has as a fall foliage destination is well deserved. The little downtown is adorable and very walkable, the traffic wasn't great but we were able to find parking relatively easily. If visiting from out of town, you're going to want a rental car since many of the attractions are spaced miles apart. There are a ton of great food-related things to try near by. We really enjoyed the sugar houses (we saw Bragg Farm and Goodrich's Maple Farm and recommend them both - about 40ish minutes out of town), Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot cheese shop, and Ben and Jerry's factory. We stopped at but didn't stay at the Trapp Family Lodge, which was well worth seeing. We did try the Trapp Kaffeehaus (which also serves their beer) which was great. If you like hard cider we also recommend Stowe Cider.

A quaint town set in the most picturesque location.
A quaint town set in the most picturesque location. The shops were attractive and there were plenty of places to eat. The nearby Von Trapp Family Lodge is well worth a visit. There is lots to do in the summer and the winter but we had not realised that most attractions and roads to mountain peaks would be closed from mid October until the ski season starts so we were caught in the middle of this time and had less open for our visit.
A really nice family run hotel. Great location, very close, about 5 min drive to Stowe town centre. And although the breakfast was not included in the price, they did have quite a few things like cereals, breads, and other breakfast items on the house. I really liked the way the staff actually went out of the way to help you to get what you wanted for breakfast. The rooms were cosy, clean and everything worked perfectly.
The motel is nicely situated, somewhat on the outskirts of Stowe, surrounded by beautiful nature yet still close to a few restaurants and bars.
The room had a little kitchenette, a strong AC, and a somewhat dated bathroom with good water pressure.
Everything seemed very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a scenic ride on the free bikes up the Stowe rec path.
I was really surprised by just how cozy and welcoming the resort is. The location is perfect because you’re in the middle of the town and there is a ski shuttle to the mountain nearby. The room was listed as two queen beds, but it actually had 3 queen beds, two bathrooms and a separate bedroom. I only stayed one night but it instantly became my go-to hotel in Stowe.
We were travelling with our baby of 8 months and our little dog. It was a nice place close to everything in Stowe. Clean and spacious. Even had a charging station for our electric car directly on the parking lot of the motel (extra fee with a Charge point charging station). The pool was heated and very clean :) It's a dog friendly motel.
Lovely location with several good restaurants and shops within an easy walk. Nice pool and outdoor area. A really helpful and kind Reception team who solved an issue for us. Loved the Stowe recreation walk and the drive up past the ski resort. Also had a nice trip to Burlington by the lake.
The decor and design of the hotel was very cute. The beds were comfortable and there's plenty of parking. We appreciated the free coffee and tea station in the lobby.
The staff were lovely and helped transfer us to a new room when we had cleanliness issues with the first room.
The room was spacious and clean with access to the Stowe Recreation path. It was a lovely walk into town. We were also within walking distance of several restaurants in either direction. Lots of walking trails within a short drive made this a great location for us.
Happy place for families, close to all Stowe attractions, very friendly. Clean and comfortable.
There is a beautiful river next to the resort. Two swimming pools.
Very comfortable beds. Lots of parking around the hotel.
We would love to visit this place again
They were very welcoming and friendly. Its a great location just out of Stowe center and convenient to the mountain.
Don made us a delicious homemade Vermont breakfast every morning! We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Stowe.
There was no breakfast. The Room was great and affordable compared to all the other hotels in Stowe. For Canadian travellers The exchange rate and the increase in Hotel costs will increase your overall trip, ie gas food and accommodations
We loved stay at the Field Guide Lodge. Our room was great and the hotel is beautifully decorated. Close to amazing restaurants and a short stroll in to Stowe. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Very close to downtown Stowe, and hotel parking was easy. The room was spacious and the whole hotel seemed very pet friendly. The staff in general were very friendly.
