Great design really lovely and quite special. Breakfast very good
Location is amazing. Stunning views on the doorstep The courtyard is a picturesque feature and the property itself absolutely stunning. It’s kept immaculate with no dust or webs anywhere considering the really high ceilings. The breakfast of sweet and savoury pastries come delivered approx 8:45 in a basket from a local bakery. Pair this with the expresso machine in the kitchen you can sit out front and have an amazing breakfast experience. Also completely fell in love with the interior design, especially the bathroom.
Overall was extremely pleased with this hotel. It is new, well designed, just a great boutique hotel with wonderful vistas of the city. The staff is exceptional, specially Mario took a liking to us and insured we knew the perfect restaurants, etc. We stayed here with our family of four including two young children in the family suite and we’re extremely impressed.
Excellent apartment, renovated, stylish and a great design, very well equipped (including coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine). Additional cleaning during 5 day staying was a bonus. Central location and possible to park the car in front of the apartment most of the time.
We loved everything about our stay, the lovely warm welcome from Paolo with so much helpful information and the super-modern stylish room so well designed and kitted out with simple but high quality fittings and furnishings. It’s also a brilliant location, you can park easily on the road and in just a few minutes’ walk the iconic sight of Matera’s Sassi opens up before you inviting you to explore. I was originally keen to stay in one of the cave hotels in the Sassi but I’m so glad we chose Hydria Rooms, simply the best!
Fantastic interior design of the top cave suite. Prime location at the foot of the Sassi (old matera). Terrace that would be lovely with warmer weather than we had in late February The free circular bus stops right outside if you dont want to keep walking up the steep hills!!
Authentic and beautifully done up Cave Hotel. Stylistic rustic simplicity with design very much in mind. The owners and the staff were super lovely - especially the French lady in Reception! - and we would recommend this place to anyone. Extras such as a jazz player during the deliciously served breakfast, and the complimentary cisterns to visit under the ground added to the experience. This was one of three stunning cave hotels we stayed in during our four days in Matera - and this one ranked as high as the other two.
A sweet little boutique hotel with cave rooms and a stunning view of amazing Matera. Junior suite was very nice and despite being a cave surprisingly light with a spacious bathroom. Catering to your every need is Maria Antonella, the very lovely front desk lady sent from heaven. Good breakfast, good WiFi, we were very happy with this accommodation.
Lovely interior design, location, everything is new, great communication with the owner, hassle free, just excellent.
The location is superb: on the verge of the old town, and from the bedrooms you look straight into the canyon. The appartment is new and has been designed with eye of an architect / interior designer. It is stunning. The hosts are super friendly and are so proud of Matera and their appartment… and rightfully so
