Much like its fellow emirates, Ras al Khaimah views the future as a world of opportunity, most evident in the capital city of the same name (also called Ra’s al Khaymah or RAK).
Although its skyline is not yet as dramatic as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, RAK still has plenty of skyscrapers, many housing hotels and apartments on Booking.com. Some overlook its long, sandy beach, alongside luxury resorts. Watersports activities include diving, and to the south-west is Ice Land waterpark.
Desert safaris are a great way to explore the rugged terrain behind the city, site of Al Sawan camel racetrack and Ras al Khaimah Airport. One of the world’s first spaceports is also planned to be out here.
Saqr Park on the capital’s outskirts is the largest UAE park, and the Tower Links Golf Club is another green spot by a lagoon joined to the sea via Ras al Khaimah Creek. The nearby beachfront Corniche is a popular picnic spot, with landscaped gardens and lots of boutiques and cafés.
More shops are in Manar Mall and the ‘Little India’ district of Al Nakheel. The old city has a bustling souk and the National Museum of Ras al Khaimah, housed in Al Hisn Fort. Another important sight is majestic Sheikh Zayed Mosque with its 4 graceful minarets.
I love the location. It is very close to the beautiful beach, walking distance to the numerous restaurants and shops. I loved the beach the most and several restaurants such as Turkish restaurant (5 min driving) and the Afghan restaurant (20 min driving). The highlight of the trip was our visit to the camel racing. Local people are very nice, helpful and welcoming. I will come back for another family vacation.

My rating of Ras Al Kaimah is based solely on Longbeach Campsite and not any of the surroundings. The fees charged by Longbeach Campsite for the unit I hired is ludicrous and I would strongly recommend that no-one book that unit at that price.

Do not book through Booking.com as they over charge over hotel tariff and also the hotel doesn't refund in case you shorten your trip. For example the hotel staffs here told me the tariff is actually 160-200 AED and booking .com charged me over 250. I finished the job early and checked out one night earlier but they made me pay for entire period as booking .com had already got their commission .

The Northern Emirates are a real gem, providing a completely different experience from Dubai/ Abu Dhabi. Because it is close to the mountains and the Omani border, there are new places to visit. Really worthwhile!

Raw Al khaimah is much less impressive than other emirates.
Raw Al khaimah is much less impressive than other emirates. The city is very widespread. There are few tourist sites. The major attractions are extreme high end resorts and some high adrenaline activities. Buses quite infrequent. Lots of malls.
The property location was superb, you were deep into the Ras Al Khaimah desert with nothing around apart from other desert camps. We were upgraded to a premium suite that was well decorated, clean presentation and provided all the necessities. It was extremely quiet the majority of the time, staff were exceptionally friendly and hospitable and the whole staff coriander felt carefree.
Good range of food options, entertainment in the evening was great and the added range of activities e.g. camel riding were so enjoyable.
Really lovely sized apartment (we took the 1 bed suite and it was ideal for a family of 4) in a perfect part of RAK - 30 seconds to the Waldorf Hotel and a 5 min drive to the Al Hamra Mall.
1 bed suites have - separate master bedroom with on suite (yes there is a door), large lounge, guest toilet & large kitchen.
If you have Privilee it becomes a 9 out of 10 as you suddenly get full access to the Waldorf facilities, kids club, pools etc.
Staff are super friendly and engaging.
I was hesitant to book considering the price was so low as always im going to big 5star brands like Radisson, hilton, marriott, rixos etc..but this hotel surpassed my expectations in every aspect
I got the all inclusive package and it was worth every penny. Amazing and delicious food variety.
Live egg counter for breakfast. Good spread for desserts.
Kids pool is really good, there are even water slides. Kids club is well equipped to keep your kids busy.
Very scenic location. my room was beach facing. excellent view direct to the ocean from the private balcony. Pool experience was awesome. My kids enjoyed the pool. First time to experience the attraction of nubian design of the rooms. Looks very elegant. I have already recommended to some of my office colleagues about my experience with Cove Rotana - Ras Al Khaimah. Hope they will take out some time to enjoy the stay.
The incredible atmosphere. It is one of the best hotels and an unforgettable location: a beautiful desert nature, you can meet a camel or an oryx walking in the hotel territory. Private swimming pool in the villa. Tasty food, Moon bar where you can gaze at stars, enjoy drinks, and smoke shisha. All staff is helpful, friendly, and professional.
The best thing of our stay was the hotel staff especially Mr. Roshan Rupasinghe from the Club lounge. The purpose of our stay was to celebrate our child’s gender reveal. Mr. Roshan went out of his way to organize it to the best of his ability and making it a memorable one for me & my wife. I would really like to thank him for his effort.
A very calm & peaceful place, completely away from the concrete jungle. Beautiful landscaping. Worked well for me after a hard days work. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Excellent food. Would definitely go back. Didn't know Ras al Khaimah had such a beautiful hotel property.
Certainly a unique destination. Felt like we were on a tropical island. Comfortable villa, very private including a wonderful outdoor pool. Ideal for a special get away like honeymoon or an anniversary. The food was top notch. Honestly, best hotel food we've had in a long time. And the staff were amazing! Thank you all.
The place is amazing! We received a great service from the staff, specially thanks to Rossel (Reception) and Abdulla (buggy driver), and the guy who prepared the omellette, they were the best of the hotel!
Thank you so much
Matias (Argentina) and Irakli (Giorgia).

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Ras Al khaimah Nakheel
easy to access the tourist places from the property and the view from the balcony was really good. the staff were very nice and professional and hotel environment was the best thing I liked about.
The place was awesome, the pools and the kids facilities were amazing.. One of the best hotels tht we hve stayed in. Highly recommended for families with kids. Head chef Mr. Upul was great 🙂
Great place to unwind from city life. The Ritz Carlton has again shown why they are the by far leading luxury hotel. They just go beyond in all aspects and that separates them from others.
Extended current stay for 1 night as dubai had the gulf food expo happening and hotels were too pricey or un available in dubai. but its a 1 hour drive from the hotel to get into dubai.
Ev The best hotel ever for me. I stay in the hotel every week and the staff is very classy, respectful and helpful. It is the best hotel and staff for me in Ras Al Khaimah.
Staff very professional and very helpful
