Hotel Vera Ballarat, hotel in Ballarat

Located in Ballarat, a 13-minute walk from Ballarat Train Station, Hotel Vera Ballarat has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The excellent restoration of this magnificent Victorian building shows how clever and considerate are the owners. They have incorporated luxury comfort without losing the features of the building, and the modern extension to the property blends seamlessly. Throughout the place are cosy reading nooks and a marvellous and eclectic selection of fabulous books, art and memorabilia, placed always to enhance the sense of design. The owners are warm and friendly and add to the overall sense of welcome and serenity. The weekend continental breakfast was excellent. Overall we felt a sense of calm in this lovely place.

I was thrilled that the begonias in the botanic gardens were still in full bloom ( mid April) . I was moved by the exhibit on the Eureka Stockage. I was impressed with the large number of elegant historic buildings in the city.

Very historic town and still retains lots of its original architecture. I did run out of things to do so did travel to Daylesford for one day. Otherwise, it is a nice place to visit, more than once, and does offer some lovely tourist spots.

The hotel gave me a free upgrade from a single room to a double Chinese Bridal Room. Beautifully fitted out with antique Chinese furniture and fittings. The whole hotel is wonderfully restored in period style. Breakfast excellent in the large covered atrium. Very convenient location in the centre of Ballarat, close to shops, art gallery, station etc.
