There was no breakfast offered. My single modern room was ok. But I received an email saying that I would get an up-grade free ( when I had already paid the full amount) I didn’t see any staff - except the cleaners. The hotel is adequate but I think you’d get better value for money elsewhere.

Ostend is fine for a couple of nights. Some good bar/restaurants where we had excellent steak. Good selection of great Belgian beers too. Ostend is only a half hour from Bruges (even quicker by train), so can be used a a base to explore Flanders. It's also only an hour or so from Calais (and on a good road) so easy to get to.

Ostend was very attractive.
Ostend was very attractive. There are lots of big green parks to wander through, and a huge sandy beach with a big promenade. There are lots of bars and cafes, and also some attractive old parts of town where Paris-style balconied apartments can be viewed. There are buses and trams in town, and the train takes only 11 minutes to get to Bruges for day trips.

I visited ManiFiesta, an annual festival of solidarity at the Wellington horse track. It takes place in early September and it's a wonderful opportunity to see live music and dance, but also for debates, films and to meet like-minded people from all over Europe. I met trade unionists from all across the world, amazing. So nice that you can visit the festival and also enjoy the beach and the city of Ostend.

We really enjoyed our visit, I guess we were lucky as we had our own personal tour guide, as our friend lives here!
We a enjoyed the architecture, took lot's of photographs.
The Harbour was lovely, everything was in walking distance.
If you are a lover of fresh Seafood, it's in abundance, lot's of stalls selling fresh fish of all description.
Superb location and a lovely apartment all round, the area is residential and quiet, but all the facilities and Oostende itself are super easy to reach by car or by public transport. The beach is right out front, the private garden is spacious, the kitchen fully equipped and the bathroom is luxury with a walk in shower and a tub. It's also super convenient that a washing machine is available and plenty of cupboard space. We didn't meet the hosts, but they did send some messages before check-in to ensure everything was alright.
Hotel Astrid is amazing.
1. It is 2 minutes to Ostend Beach.
2. It 8 min walk to Ostende city centre, & 20 min to/from Train Station.
3. It is very clean.
4. The breakfast was amazing. Diversified continental breakfast. Everybody can find what he/she likes.
5. They are honest.
(I had ordered a baby cot. I told them the next day that I don't need it anymore. When I checked out, they paid me the money for the day I didn't use the baby bed.)

Nice location in a quiet street close to the small village of Stene where there are several nice restaurants. Not far away there is of course the city of Ostend and the Belgian coast.
The couple that owns the property is very kind and helping. Breakfast was excellent (the husband is a gastronomic chef and that shows also in the breakfast!)
Absolutely recommended!
The host greeted us on arrival with an introduction to the apartment and local area plus a bottle of Cava.
The apartment is extremely well equipped and comfortable. It is located in a central area just minutes walk to the shops and beachfront. Although being near a main road and tram route it is very quiet.
Will certainly stay here again when next in Ostend.
